Kenneth P. LeCocq, age 54 of Hill City died Monday, June 30, 2008 as the result of a drowning accident. Kenneth was born August 27, 1953 at Mora, Minnesota the son of Paul J. and Winifred (Erickson) LeCocq. He attended schools at McGrath and graduated from the Isle High School. He then spent two years at Technical College for Food Service Management. Ken played almost as hard as he worked. His first love was spending time with his kids and grandkids, followed closely by his love for friends and his many hobbies. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, racquetball, fishing, hunting, and everything to do with horses. He is survived by his wife Bonnie LeCocq of Aitkin; 2 daughters and sons in law: Desiree and Ty Sjodin of Crosby, Mn.; Lynn and Paul Lundgren of Lakeshore, Mn.; Trevor LeCocq of Madison, Wisconsin; Mother: Winifred LeCocq of Elk River, Mn. 8 grandchildren: Alexis Liljenquist, Elizabeth Liljenquist, Grace Liljenquist, Zach Sjodin, Tyson Sjodin, Olivia Lundgren, Madelynn Lundgren, Mason Lundgren; 4 brothers: Alvin LeCocq of Moose Lake, Mn.; Richard LeCocq of Mora, Mn.; Robert LeCocq of Rochester, Mn.; Bruce LeCocq of Isle, Mn.; 1 sister: Clarice Mitchell of Elk River, Mn. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 3 PM from the Westside Church in Aitkin. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 7 PM at his farm in Hill City. Burial will be in the Pliny Cemetery at McGrath, Minnesota. Pallbearers will be: Cameron LeCocq, Keldon LeCocq, Doug Mitchell, Rick LeCocq, Jake LeCocq, Jade LeCocq, Rob Sanders; Honorary pallbearers: Jonathon Miller and Nathan Christian. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
