CRASH KILLS FIREFIGHTER
A Danville firefighter died Saturday when he lost control of his pickup and crashed into a tractor-trailer in Lincoln County, Kentucky State Police said. Shane T. King, 29, of Moreland was traveling south on U.S. 127, just south of Hustonville, when his 1998 Ford Ranger crossed the center line and crashed into a 1999 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Larry Brown, 56, of Liberty, state police said. King suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 p.m. by the Lincoln County coroner. Brown was not injured. Alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Both men were wearing seat belts, state police said ** Viewing tonight. Funeral tomorrow.
