PIPESTEM — Mr. Paul Floyd York, 83, of Pipestem, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at the Veterans Medical Center in Beckley.
Born Feb. 8. 1923 at Princeton, he was the son of the late James Walter and Sally Ann Belcher York. Paul graduated from Princeton High School, entered the service to serve with the U.S. Army during World War II, he fought in the European Theater. For many years, he was employed by the C & O Railroad, retiring as the Shop Foreman. He was an avid fox hunter, loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Wellmen Mills York of Princeton; children and spouses, Patricia June York Carper of Huntington, Michael James and Deborah York of Mt. Crawford, Va., Von Ray and Barbara York Sr. of Shady Springs; siblings, Beatrice Ann York Phillips and husband James Phillips of Beckley, Perry and Margaret York of Newport News Va., Paris and Louise York of Princeton, and Ben York of Buena Vista, Va.; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Irving Ross and Troy Gilmore serving as speakers. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton.
