TULIA - Edward R. Adams, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005.
Services will be at 5 p.m. today in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with
Matt Hill and LaRon Branson officiating. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m.
Wednesday in Premont Cemetery in Premont with Kenion Coleman and Marcus Bobb
officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia and
Howard-Williams-Turcotte Funeral Home of Falfurrias.
Mr. Adams was born to Matilda Keip Adam and Rudolph Adam on Sept. 30, 1918. in
Columbus, Wis. He moved to New Mexico as a young boy where he met and married
his wife, Christine Hills, on Sept. 2, 1937. He served in the Navy. Ed and
Chris raised their family in Premont. Edís hobbies included flying and
farming. He commuted from Premont to Corpus Christi daily for 30 years, where
he was a welder at Reynolds Aluminum. He spent his last years in Tulia, where
his son and daughter-in-law cared for him.
A special thanks to Tina Garcia, Margie Auten, Donna Collins and Area
Community Hospice during health challenges in Dadís last days.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996; two brothers, Reuben and George;
and a sister, Ruth.
Survivors include a son, Don Adams and wife, Freva, of Tulia; a daughter,
Donna Gibson and husband, Dave, of Bluffdale, Utah; a sister, Laura Schmidt of
Rio, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Area Community Hospice, P.O. Box 5087,
Plainview, TX 79072.
