Hello everyone. To the UK folks out there!!!. I heard that Ben Crompton has stepped down. Can someone please let us know what deal is with this story. I head he was made to step down because people were not happy with him. A certain worker from Australia has taken charge. "Professelly speaking',. i.e speaking in 2x2 jargon..... I professed, the second time through Ben and was baptised by him a while back so it is of interest to me. For those who don't remember Ben.... some says he preaches to his feet... i.e he looks down when he preaches .

I wouldnt attach any credence to this at all
Clearly anyone in a position of senior responsibility can never be in favour with everyone else, but most people would be glad that he is willing to take it on. Doubt he fought for the role but he is a priestly man who would always serve humbly
What 'certain' man from Australia? There are plenty enough in the British Isles to stand in if the need arises

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised. Seems to be "something" going on. With a good few workers leaving the work in England over the past few years.
But no-one is telling anything!! My instict... somethings going on.......

We were always under the impression that ,since they were not hired they could not be fired.

Stay in the tunnels with the underground network, tube train.

This Sunday is the last day of special meetings in England
none of the enquiries I have made back up any of these rumours, and I dont believe there's an ounce of truth in them
There has been some lack of direction however in the last ten years since the death of Ken Paginton who was a very charismatic leader.

I can't think of any Australian worker who is associated with the UK
only maybe Bernard Manning ? But he is usually in Europe ?
It has been said English worker Percy Watkins is the deputy, he must have been preaching 25 years by now, other than that I wouldn't know who is being groomed into the situation
Many British workers have been relocated abroad, (usually permanently); I've seen lists indicating there are more UK workers working overseas than still in the British Isles.
I return to the point I don't believe a word of what's being rumoured, and moreover, who would fight for the position? More likely support would be given for B Crompton to keep going as the function is mainly administrative, England is not a place where I gather there's a lot of dissention from inside nor is it somewhere any new people are coming to the faith

I don't think Craig is exactly the administrative type. Really?! I would have thought such a post would suit him to a tee! But it's been a few years since I knew him..... great guy.... great companion.... great friend....

I say this because when he was around us, he always seemed to have his head in the clouds (which is probably why I liked him so much). He seemed to be more of a philosopher than an administrator, and not very connected to the hum drum of regular life.

Understand that our new overseer is to be someone called Ralph Joss, from Scotland I think.

Yes, Ralph hails from Bonnie Scotland. Interesting that he should be linked with this vacancy .

I remember hearing that Ken Paginton wanted the workers in Scotland and England to come under one staff. This was met with real opposition from some of the Scottish workers.
Am sure Geoff could verify if Ben is stepping sidewards - he livs there.

Understand that our new overseer is to be someone called Ralph Joss, from Scotland I think. ....another one of Aileen's fantasies. Ben is not stepping anywhere, he remains in charge with Percy Watkins and John Winter, an English worker who has been in Austealia for many years. Some one who can tame the wild aussies who have brought distruction to the way in Britain, is needed. The only person stepping down is Mr. Fenton becasue of age related health problems. Most people hold Ben in high regard. A few youngsters sowing wild oats come adrift with any worker!
