Inatent, I don't have any children. I think that my wishes will be carried out. I do have them in writing. No funeral. I also won't be paying for it IF someone in the "family" decides that THEY want me to have one. Just as I won't be paying for their funerals either. It amazes me that people pay so much to place you in a coffin for a viewing, then plant you in the ground. Call me cheep, call me whatever, I want nothing to do with it. Burn me up and toss me in the ocean. Those are my wishes. Cindi aka: hinds1985 I can't vouch for this, but someone told me a long time ago that some states require a funeral by law. This doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps the real story is that they require a burial of some sort. inatent

Not required in MI. You can do a private cremation, pay for it, then take your ash outta there!
