Traffic jams. Stores mobbed with people. What is the big deal about this sick holiday? Long live Scrouge. Commercial bedlam. Outlaw Christmas. WHat is so special about this twisted holiday??

You are so right...it seems that the commercialism that has been added to Christmas doesn't make it an ideal holiday. I guess I was an exception. My wife and I spent a weekend before Thanksgiving shopping for the children and had presents bought already. The real gift of Christmas is JesusChrist and that he came to earth so that you and I could have forgiveness for our sin. All we need to do is confess that sin for it to be forgiven. Here comes the clincher. Not all churches still have confession but we as people can go directly to God and ask for forgiveness and sib can still be forgiven. The office of the Keys is a nice conscience cleansing provision though. I am truly sorry of your bad time during the holidays. I can feel your frustration.

Since when did buying gifts signify Jesus Christ? I suppose you could say it stemmed from the gifts that the wisemen brought Jesus. But I really doubt the wisemen had any thought in mind that they would just go to the nearest market and pick up something that Jesus would want. By my understanding, the gifts brought to Jesus' birth were expensive, and were brought out of reverence. I agree Xmas has gotten completely commercialized. So, what do I suggest? Well, here's a radical sollution... How about celebrating crhistmas by actually tihnking about Jesus?!! WOW, what a novel idea!! And if someone claimed to be christian, they maybe should think about Jesus seriously more than twice a year (Xmas and Easter). I believe that Jesus and God are truly appalled at the direction that the celebration of Christmas has gone. I'm not saying that everybody is like this. So if you are one of those people that don't fall into the commercial trap of xmas and easter, then you're not being attacked by this post. All the more power to you! andy
