BryanfromAlaska - I don't understand. Why wouldn't you want people to know where conventions are? Maybe because he knows there are people like me out here. I'm looking for a convention to go to so in Sunday morning meeting I can stand to speak and say... "William Irvine started the truth a little over a hundred years ago. Don't take my word for it and don't take the workers word for it either; research the TRUTH for yourself." I'll speak quick so I get it all in before they shut me off. You will do more harm then good if you do this...

Oh, its not a requirement, but some people prefer to stand behind their words. If you didn't mean what you said, I'll let it slide.

Could you please explain why you would think otherwise? What words of mine on this thread have I not stood behind?

I stand behind what I said in reply 28... Why do you doubt that I do? Because in reply #32 I asked you to clarify your statement and you don't see the need. Keep trolling. I know to ignore you now.

No, you asked me a strawman question. I pointed it out that it was a strawman argument. You then, based on your strawman argument asked for me to clarify my remarks. Which I didn't feel the need to based on your strawman argument. If you cannot see that standing up in convention and making such a statment would do more harm then good, then perhaps you should go get your eyes checked out... People would write someone off like that as a nut and everything valid they would have to say would be Marginalized… since it came from a nut…

Fair enough; perhaps there are more effective less nutty ways to do it that might meet with your approval? I'll check the other threads on this topic to see what you have to say.

Speak to them about being justified... Speak to them about Jesus being God... Speak to them about worshiping in spirit and in truth rather then in a place... Speak to them about the priesthood of all believers... Speak to them about the doctrine of Grace... Speak to them about not working for your salvation...

Speak to them about the priesthood of all believers... Speak to them about the doctrine of Grace... Speak to them about not working for your salvation... And don't forget love, brother. The greatest commandment is Love and all the law and the prophets hang on this, as Jesus said (Matt 22:36). If one does not show the fruit of the spirit (Gal 5:22), Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control . . . TALKING TO THEM ABOUT ANY OF THE OTHER ISN'T GOING TO MATTER. It's hard to do. And I FAIL to do it EVERY day. I am a sinner. But the Christ of God can give me the power to do it. Without Him, I can do nothing (John 15:5). 1 Corinthians 13 (English Standard Version) 4Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. In the Love of Christ, Jessi

I know where you are, fellow soldier. I've been there. I wanted to go picket every convention there was a few years ago. The thing is, I love my Mom so much . . . and this is tearing her apart. She's scared and embarrassed and her pain is my pain. So what is one to do? She's old. She doesn't have much time, maybe. What do I do with that? I love her and HAVE told her the truth, but she is not receptive. I think the only thing to do to to love the Lord my God with all my heart, MIND, soul and strength and have faith that whatever He does, HE IS RIGHTEOUS AND JUST AND TRUE. Someone told me not long ago, "Whatever God does, whether or not your mother is saved, God is right. He is just." I believe it. God has a plan. I don't know what it is. But I KNOW I am a part of it and I am His and whoever is HIS WILL COME also. Take heart and build your faith upon the solid rock. Christ the Lord. He will tell you what you must do. If it's standing up in a meeting, then don't listen to anyone but the LORD. Pray first, then do. Spread the seed--however he tells you to do it. Open your mouth and the Lord will open the hearts. I will pray for you. Christ's Forever, Jessi

I frequent this board out of curosity about what's going on in a religion that was once my entire life.--Getting close to the first half of my life--occassionally post to give my experience. It's rapidly becoming a place where people hide behind their screen name to hurl insults at others. This seems to happen to many boards where once rational discussion, passionate disagreement, and empathy abounded. Now it seems every post is met with personnal attacks and generally despicable behavior. Do you all act that way when people actually know who you are?
