bc and as i c it - So much verbage that goes on on this site is useless simply because of the area differences. The HEAD worker in our state told us face to face that they CANNOT tell someone they can't partake of the emblems. So what some one says in another place, so be it. That is why we are all united as one. Isn't that a silly statement. Dress codes have been on this site so many times and what good does it do to talk about it. If you want to wear shirt, tie, tuxedo, whatever to a meeting, which you don't attend anyway, go for it. Again, in our area, it can be anything from jeans and cowboy boots to suits. What ever trips your trigger. Too many meeting people are scared to death of a worker who can't really do a thing except boot you out and even that is getting less and less or there will be noone left and they will be judged terrible for their decisions.

One woman used to always take part in our Sunday meetings wearing slacks; another one always wore a prominent earring (worke skirts, however). Never heard of them being disciplined. Once I saw a former sister worker (who still professes) walking her dog and wearing slacks.

You sure had me a-wondering with that one, BC!!! Thought maybe it was one of those "regional differences"... and I was kinda glad it'd gotten frowned out of existence in your area before it hit us... (Of course, the mistake you made in your other post..and have now edited...caused me to gulp/pound my heart/and say "breath!!breath!!!breath!!!...a few times...Glad you caught it, cause boy, what a mistake!!!) Still worth a laugh as I think of it. Your area sounds very "progressive" (if that's the correct word, for it). Do the ladies wear their slacks in front of everyone in our faith? And what about exclusivity? Yes my friend I could hear the gasps of horror from here, that is why I did the edit. We often have picnics or games get togethers here and more often than not a few of the ladies will wear slacks or jeans. As far as exclusivity it is still a prob with some of the older ones but the trend for the younger ones is towards the greater church of God. I was so taken with what you said about the "New Awareness" that I actually spoke of it in the meeting this morning, and the need to be open to allow God to awaken us and make us really aware of his will and grace for man kind. Yes, BC, thank goodness you escaped that one! (I'm sure my eyes jumped right out of my head...and onto your desk!!!)
I enjoyed your thought too, and join you in hoping the same. Meanwhile, I've been writing you "a letter" all day (in my head)...or "talking" to you all day, from thoughts sparked by our conversations--and, in fact, "talked so much" that I'm now quite talked out...(But it's been a very good day...because of it)
And now I've just finished reading John Long's journel. Talk about faith!!! John sure had it!!!
Tomorrow's my Sunday. (And having thought so much today...I'm don't think I have a thought left in my head!!!) In fact, I may have used up all the brain cells that I have left...So if my postings cease, you'll know why...
