Brilliant, fantastic news. So it wasn't all hearsay and no facts! Hopefully next case not far away!

And church members would have understood that sexual abuse of children is not OK, and it is OK to speak up.

Thankfully he has pleaded guilty and his poor victims haven’t had to go through testifying for a court case. Full credit to them for being brave and speaking up. Can only imagine how hard that would have been. Hopefully it will give an incentive to victims of other perps to speak up and bring their attackers to justice too. Watch this space for future charges … hopefully. To those who supported Easton and wanted him back in meetings, including our resident NZ worker, well how does it feel to have mud on your face 🤣

Team Bill will be looking rather stupid now! AR and all who allowed him to continue in meetings, access to children, need to join him in his new home!

And church members would have understood that sexual abuse of children is not OK, and it is OK to speak up. And to think that those in power (Head workers/overseers) during this period were standing people down from communion, or even ex-communicating them, because they didn't fit the mold, or were questioning. I recall one young person being told off for wearing jeans while just going about his normal life. I know of one man who sold all his jeans, and his stereo. Ripping out car radios, admonishing women for showing skin above the elbow. Making men wear singlets under their shirts. And during this period, Bill Easton was plying his trade, and because the wealthy and royal family supported the work financially, and their were two other siblings in the work, it was all swept under the rug. a significant number of victims need not have been, if the right and moral decisions had been made. And made by the men who claimed that every other church was wrong, and they alone had the keys to the Kingdom.
Does this make my blood boil? You bet it does.
It is and was a shocking abuse of power.
Like others here, I am aware of those on Team Bill, and the behaviour of a certain worker who was on here, and may their walls of self-righteousness come tumbling down.

There is a married couple on Team Bill that have been quite nasty to his ex wife. I used to think this couple were quite good people when I met with them every Sunday for years. As more of this is revealed I have to reconsider who is a good person. Having some spine and standing for what is morally right rather than what is right for the cult would be a good start.

How significant is the Bill Easton situation to Wayne Dean's resignation, do you think? (e.g. 50%, 100%?) And how significant are the impending cases and more scandal to come? Who is leading NZ F&W now through these stormy waters?

Having some spine and standing for what is morally right rather than what is right for the cult would be a good start. Who is a "good person"? Good question! Remember Jesus' parable of the Pharisee and tax-collector? Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people — robbers, evildoers, adulterers — or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’It's the same in the 2x2 group - there are the 'super saints', Royal Families and very wealthy supporters of the system. They get all their accolades from men (& some women) in high-up positions of importance. Bet you they go to bed at night thinking "thank God that I'm not like other people". Then there's the paupers and down-and-outs and humble genuine caring people "God be merciful to me a sinner". (and in today's world, they're unlikely to be the 'tax collectors' or supporters of corruption in any system of man).

However the people involved need to ask themselves questions around whether their presence and belonging condones what is going on. Condoning leads to being complicit.

From the news article:
He was accepted into the work two years after his offending in Whanganui.
Was his ordination of man or of God?
His older sister in the work was quick to condemn people for silly little things, yet she defended her predator brother and enabled a whole lot more boys to be sexually abused?
Matthew 23:24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

... and in the far past fog of memories of the late parents and grandparents generation, having furtive conversations about things that must not be discussed, as though not discussing the subject caused it to not exist. Minister Easton got into trouble with a married woman in Victoria when he was there for a year or so in mid-70's. Willy Donaldson (sp?) booted him back east to the long white cloudy land where he presumably, after a time of introspection, pulled the pin on the preacher gig.

Hopefully one chap who was an elder will be appearing in court on sexual abuse charges sooner rather than later and go on to join Easton in jail. The other is dead. He was a worker. He died the day before his court appearance and so avoided being found accountable. His crimes were sexually molesting his nephew's daughter from the time she was 7. He was also caught exposing himself outside a school. His niece who is the wife of an elder has been having an affair with another elder. The resident TMB worker tried to keep the lid on this and denied it happened. Nathan thinks highly of this worker who has enabled so much immorality and corruption. You asked somewhere why Dean's resigned. Some of the above contributed to his resignation.

Exactly - I thought of that line he used too The line that "it's all hearsay and no facts" is appalling. I'm thankful that our laws and legal system have more wisdom and honesty and compassion and sense of justice than religious authorities.

What scandals/secrets/cover-ups elder workers; McNabs, Willie Donaldson, Bill Macourt, Evan Jones, Albert Barnes, Nathan Mccarthy took with them to their graves.

Surely not! With a NZ worker, to boot? Are you suggesting there may be Easton/married woman progeny running around in Victoria, right now? Too horrible to even think about all this. BTW, that's a lot of married women you're casting aspersions over, next sp meeting there'll be lots of sideways glancing and whispered "do you think she could be the one?" This could lead to an international incident, bigger even than an underarm ball!
