Responses from overseers (note: they have addressed responses to Sharlene Mahaffey who sent the letter on behalf of all the signatories.): The two responses from NZ and Stephen Thorpe in WA seemed the most genuine and caring, for the victims and church as a whole. So Stephen is now the new WA overseer. A wise choice! Sounds like quite an improvement on the rumour that it was going to be Peter Morrison. His more loquacious reply sounded genuine and heartfelt.

A note from Trevor Joll regarding WA: Dear Friends in WA,
Hope this finds you well and encouraged. I would like to get a line away to you all this morning to keep you in touch with what has been happening.
Max Goldsack returned to New Zealand last night, so that will mean some changes will have to take place here. Steve Thorpe from Victoria, has come over to WA to look after the work meantime. Steve and Garry Packard arrived into Perth on Wednesday. Herman has also arrived for his home visit. So it's very nice to have them here.
I have been asked to come over for a few weeks, then iI plan to return to Sooth Australia.. It's been good to be among you all. We look forward to helpful days at the coming conventions.
I've enjoyed reading in 1st Corinthians 13. The love of God is the answer to everything. To have this in our lives will cause one to live, to bring glory to God. I noticed in verse 6 it doesn't rejoice in iniquity but it does in rejoice in truth. The truth sets a person free. We are so grateful for the freedom that comes into our soul thru accepting the truth, as it is in Jesus. One would like to be willing for changes to take place in their own lives, so that God can have His say in us.
Just this for now. Kind greetings. Your brother in Him
Trevor Joll.

I wonder how Australians and New Zealanders would react if they knew that Jim Atcheson was headed their way for conventions. His knowledge of abusive workers and his assistance in keeping them secret and brushing off accusations of them could be concerning. Apparently he is no longer welcome in Australia and won't be going, so I heard.

Interesting that John Bowman had his workership revoked 3 days after the letter from CCF was sent to the overseers with John's name being one of the 180 or so that signed it!

He did say in his letter though "I am free now, according to Alan, to so whatever I choose for my life. Despite the formal agreement to step aside from the work in Queensland, I remain committed to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and to the calling of apostleship. A new dawn for me....etc"

A direct quote from Alan: Today I was sent the text of what my overseer Alan Mitchell wrote immediately after my name was removed from the Queensland Workers WhatsApp group chat… ‘A visit with John Bowman yesterday resulted in the suggestion that he is not coping well and needed to forget about being in the work. John readily agreed to that suggestion and we parted on good terms.’ Sure Alan.

The initial responses from the overseers, just acknowledging the letter, do show an empathetic tone. Another response, which I received from a NZ worker, has a completely different tone unfortunately.

(Thankfully his tone is not shared by all of his NZ co-workers.)

Interesting, some forked tongue? seems like it... These guys could get full employment in government circles as Spin Doctors.
They don't understand that their behaviour drives a wedge between the sycophants and the iconoclasts, rather than unify.

All workers on the Aus/NZ staff have been asked for their thoughts/opinions on the advisory group. Most of the younger workers want full transparency and have asked for the identities of the advisory group members to be made public.
