Thank you for this privilege, Dean and Dave found me in 1980 back in the alaska range. Deans way of talking , mentioning subjects over and over 3 times won my heart and caused me to ask So what is the blood of the Lamb. That opened the door and Still to this day Dear Deans style of talking teaches . Deans love made me feel special, every wounded heart needs this. Dean and Dave watered this thirsty heart and planted the seed, Kay and Charleen brought me in . thank you all
3. Jill Yule
Thank you to those who made the recording possible so those afar could join in remembering Dean and what he meant to each of us. Special thanks to Dean’s family for allowing him to spend his life in God’s service, which has ultimately helped even me. May God give you special comfort in your time of sorrow and loss.
4. Auriel Durston
I am thankful for this privilege to write a line in memory of a dear faithful life. I prayed in a Special Meeting in Arizona one year and I just said “I am glad the Lord hears our faintest sigh” After that meeting Dean looked towards me and shook my hand and enquired where I was from, so I shared I came from UK. I felt he was a caring brother.
5. Donna Swanson

8. John + Becky Sutcliffe
I valued Dean as a companion and we valued as a friend and brother in Christ very much. It truly was hard to process that he passed when we just saw him at Post Falls. It did make us glad for the visits we had with Him there . especially one visit where I got to thanked him for the hymns he wrote , because they were so helpful in the lockdown to tune in and think on things eternal . Like was mentioned in his service he had a gift to put into words his love and adoration for his God and his Son Jesus and his kingdom. and even though he is gone his words and influence and connection with God lives on.
9. Karen Eicher

17. BOLTON family
Dean attended Special meetings in the UK in December 2004 and we had the privilege of having him stay with our family for a few days which we have always remembered. He brought such help and comfort at a time of sadness because we had just held the funeral of our youngest daughter who died at age 32. His sweet influence has remained, and we know that his coming was no coincidence because of all that he shared with us about the love of God, especially at a time when we needed comfort and reassurance from God! We are thinking of his family, his Fellow Labourers, and the many friends who will, surely, be missing him.

59. Betty (Peters/Stelfox) Hredil, Penticton, B.C. Canada
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL INSPIRING SERVICE! THANKS TO DEAN’S FAITHFUL LIFE!! After reading the comment that the Swedish name Dean Bruer sounds very much like “din bror” which means, “your brother”. In the German, I find this very interesting, that if in Dean, you change the ‘a’ to an ‘i’ and in Bruer, add a ‘d’ after the ‘u’, it will be ”dein Bruder” which means, ”your brother”. This is indeed so beautiful of Dean!!
60. Tony and Karoline Chavez

I met Dean first at Juam convention(south korea) in 2019. His message is as follows. If God is with us, we could see and feel 7 signs, which encoraged me to keep on going on this path.
67. Mabel Jacobs
News of our beloved brother Dean’s passing sent waves of shock and sadness around the world, reaching Korea’s shores as well as many others. Dean’s two convention visits left us with Bread. Our friends and fellow-workers remember him as a feeder. Dean will be sorely missed but we are so grateful for all that he left us including a deeper desire to follow our Master more closely. Thank you for making it possible for us to view the comforting and inspiring service.
68. Andrea Gedye
I am thankful to have heard Dean when he was in NZ in 2007 & 2016 I think. Very grateful to watch the livestream- you learn more about a person at their funeral. His hymns were inspiring. During the first lockdown in NSW, Australia in 2020, a friend spoke to me about his message on Lighthouses & shared the notes. They, like his life, were not easily forgotten. Deepest sympathy to his family & all the staffs he has laboured with.
69. Richard and Martha wise

Dean grew up in Minneapolis, too _ so has been a lifelong Brother. Oh, to live a life like Dean’s with no question marks. The last words at the conv I just heard him at was :”Jesus died praying”, and that likely was his own experience.

77. Shirley A Monson
When Dean’s family moved to Arizona where I grew up, I had the privilege of getting to know his sisters and parents a little before I moved to Washington State in 1985. Although I never had the privilege of having Dean in any of the fields I lived in, so never even had a visit with him other than hellos and handshakes, I really appreciated all the times I got to hear him speak. One thought he shared a number of years ago comes back to me from time to time. He was speaking about some experiences in Alaska, and one time, a ferry boat was trying to dock during very strong winds, which made it very difficult…. I can’t remember if he said the ferry finally docked or had to give up, but his theme was “so near yet so far,” as the boat was close yet couldn’t make it all the way. This was a very serious spiritual message!!!
78. David Larson
I grew up with Dean & his family in Minneapolis, MN. The fellowship in the home and on kayak trips were always quiet, peaceable and uplifting; never out of order. His spirit and example were golden.
79. Dave and Marguerite Henry

Lovely to share his funeral from afar, any time we have heard from Dean it has helped us climb the Mountain.

When hearing of Dean’s passing the line from a hymn came to mind “Come home, Come home” as the last call that Dean heard and like always would so gladly answer. Thankful I got a little visit with him at Post Falls this year.
108. Shari & Jacquie Shuster, Annie Saldana
So thankful for the wonderful message from God to our hearts every time we had the privilege of hearing Dean speak. His life was a wonderful example of what God can do in a willing heart when there is obedience to his will and makes us desire a greater willingness in our own service.

He will be so missed. I professed in his gospel meetings when I was 10.
110. Ligia Baiu
Our hearts feel for your loss!
111. Craig Jeane
I’m happy Dean has finished his course, but sad I didn’t get to attend more of his Meetings. At Milltown he spoke of the elder brother Worker who passed and questioned Dean, “Who will take care of the Flag ?“ Also his story of the Ferry in Alaska trying to dock “close and yet so far”. I’m blessed to have witnessed a little of his service.
112. Keith & Kathleen Serven
We appreciate Dean’s loving heart. My notes from Boring, Oregon (call-in) convention, 2020: “Dean Bruer: Harmony Unity Peace May these things be in us as God’s people.”
Grateful to have observed that in his submitted life. Such a shock to lose him so suddenly, but we trust God continues to lead and guide.
113. Shawn and Koral Peck
Dean told us, pure gold doesn’t glitter, it glows. Glitter is a result of light bouncing off fragments causing a constant change between light and dark. Gold absorbs and reflects the light, giving off a steady glow. Dean was what he preached!
114. Ron and Mary Ann Pedersen
So glad we were able to see the funeral of our good friend Dean. He was so faithful in writing and encouraging us through many years! Growing up with him and his family in MN gave us a bond, I guess and we were glad to have him visit IL for conv. as well. We also “prospered from his influence”!
115. Gloria Stead
Dean was a great inspiration to me at Colac Convention in Victoria, Australia and also at Pilerwa Queensland Australia. I particularly remember his stories of the sea, lighthouses and boats which he spiritulised. A special man sent by God to help us here.

Dean will be dearly missed. He had the heart of a shepherd and a Godly influence. Listening to him preach encouraged me to delve deeper into the scripture so that I could have a deeper love for the gospel.
118. Linda Horn
I remember so so often when I was in the Work, Dean reminded my of our uncle Howard Mooney his kindness, gentleness, and a Godly influence he had on my life. A love for souls of mankind, just give the best you have, and the best will be given to you. His influence will live on. He will be missed, but remembered too.
119. Merlin Affleck
2 Samuel 3:38 …..Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?
120. Glennda Hamm
I will remember the softening effects of Dean preaching the Gospel to my neighbor and I. That day my neighbor and I went away different than when we came in. So thankful he heard that call to go into the ministry.
121. Randy and Sandy Musser
We were privileged to have spoken with Dean after the last meeting on Sunday in Parma. What a shock to hear on Thursday that he had passed away. He was always so uplifting and always had a song in his heart! He will be missed by so many but we are thankful for those that are willing and able to step in to bear the burden.
122. B E (from Ohio)
Loved the thought that Dean lived – “Anytime, Anyplace, Anyone.”
123. Audrey Wibel
Our deepest condolences to the family. Our first memory of Dean was our first trip to Alaska. He and his companion met us at the air port. The next Sunday he was in the Sunday morning meeting. The home was was in view of the harbor and he spoke about safe harbors and light houses. He was to a few WI conventions when we lived there. Then just this May he was here in AZ at Cosa Grande 2 . Such Words of wisdom and such a teacher. He was a very helpful worker Not in word only but he lived the truth. He will be greatly missed. Dean definately made good use of his time while on this earth. He is gone from this earth now but has left an impression we will never forget. Larry and Audrey Wibel
124. Royce & Lisa McConnell

130. Charlene Hunter
In 1976, I followed Dean & Mike to some of the countries they were visiting around the Pacific. So often I was asked, “Do you know Dean & Mike? You don’t?? But they are also from America!” And they were getting the same thing about me. Then, in 1978, I visited Alaska, and I attended his gospel meeting in Juneau, “Oh, so you’re the one we were being asked about!” And that was my introduction to Dean.
Then, in 1994 & 1995 we had the privilege of having Dean in our field (S. Seattle). During one 6-month period, there were 7 people who passed away in our field – and each time Dean preached a unique sermon, never repeating a verse or a thought. He was an wonderful funeral preacher! Actually, was he ever not amazingly helpful? And I am convinced he wrote a poem to go with every convention sermon he preached. Since his passing, I have learned during phone visits with various older ones, that he was writing them letters at least every couple weeks, sending words of encouragement. Dean truly was a man who dedicated himself to living for others. I am glad I had the privilege of knowing him. And a special thank you to his family for sharing him with us.
131. Harvey & Gladys Cassidy
Thanks be to our God for calling Dean into the Ministery; for sending Jesus to earth to be the perfect example of the Will of God for the Ministery and for mankind. We are thankful for the willing faithful few moved by Love, who give their best, their all.
132. Charlene Kitto
I Will remember Dean’s kindness always. His kindness to everyone but what really stood out to me was his kindness to his staff. He was a wonderful encourager.
133. Tsutomu Miyata
Some fond memories of our brother Dean lingers with me. We had time together at convention times in Japan, US and also in South Africa. I appreciated Dean’s kindnesses and help wherever I was. May the work of the Lord will continue in your country and the rest of the world and the Lord’s name will be honored.
134. Thad, Anne, and Tristan Jablonski
So glad we were able to see Dean at Post Falls last month, grateful for all his faithful years!
135. Keith and Myrtle Robinson
When I first heard of his death, my thoughts were that this can’t be. He is needed here but God had other plans. Dean was an inspiration to us all. He gave his all and you could really feel the Godly influence going out from his life. It was really a privilege to have him in our home and to see his concern for others.
136. Teresa Naylor
Dean’s life was an inspiration to each of us. He saw the big picture and shared that in his life. His willingness for Gods work will be cherished and never forgotten.
137. Geneva Durkee
I have known Dean since shortly after he went in the work in Alaska, when he was in my field that year. Through the years I valued greatly his correspondence and visits when he was at special meetings and conventions. His single-minded focus on our God and Jesus and being a true servant stood out so clearly to me, always exhibiting “the mind of Christ” in his care for all of us and his godly interest in everyone he knew. Such a pillar! He always fed my heart and I am deeply grateful to have known him, also his parents and sisters here in Arizona.
138. Louise
Dean loved the souls of ALL. His life showed that he was constant in prayer, steady and true to his calling, faithful to his Lord and Savior, full of the spirit of Christ, and a lover of souls. He is missed already!

147. Christina Creech and Marleah Headrick
We appreciated having Dean with us recently on our KS-NE special meeting rounds and his help to us all in this ministry and the kingdom of God. One of his messages to us was from Luke 10 about the man who helped someone left wounded and half dead. The man said “Whatsoever the more, I WILL…” We are thankful for those like Dean who have selflessly given their lives in the harvest field for those in the home life. Those who live an “I will…” We are forever grateful for our eternal hope and eternal home to pass on to from this life. May we all live for that day as Dean did. We think of the family in days ahead and the brothers and sisters who have shared close relationships with him.
148. Mark & Patty Myers

151. Ernest BRUER
Dean was the one that lead me back to the Church after being outside for over 20 years, he would answer my questions by referring me to related scripture and not injecting any of his personal ideas, because it is Jesus who shows us the way and his job was to simply point the way, A concept I have learned to embrace, Dean was strongly aware that his job was to feed Gods’ Sheep and find his lost Lambs, he was and is a very strong pillar among those who have been privileged to of heard him spreading Gods’ word.
152. Russell and Ingrid Osborne
A life well spent. Brings a wonderful flood of pleasant memories! Fair are the prospects all ahead.
153. Jim & Ronda Ekelund
First met Dean in a SE Louisana SpMtg perhaps Spring 1997. He spoke of a father who lovingly, patiently awaited on a point at water’s edge for the safe return of his commercial fisherman son, often on the sea alone. Gave us an overview of our Father awaiting us home from life’s treacherous seas. So thankful to have seen and heard him again at Duncan, BC convention August 2011 with more details of the many, constant adjustments necessary for a vessel’s safe navigation due to the sea’s temperament, such that we reach harbor and home safely. So thankful for his aid in seeing the big picture more assuredly. Sincere condolences to his family and comrades in the PNW…

We worship our God and Father in Spirit and in Truth in the name of Jesus to this day.

We didn’t have the provilege of having Dean in our home, but he “visited” often with various poems – and most memorably – “Gethsemane” and the very special musical rendition. This will be our very special memory of Dean.
We remember Dean’s words at a funeral of a dear friend when thinking of a sunset on the West Coast and a Sunrise on another shore: “We may see the sunset of a life here, but in another place, it is a glorious sunrise.”
Larry and Debbie
304. Gail mcmurray
I have very special memories of Dean and his ministry . I loved to hear him speak of the settlers going west in time of the gold rush .. and spiritually how they left things behind in order to arrive at the desired destination.. Heaven .. leaving weights behind that would hinder us from arriving … the little girl sacrificed leaving her doll .. but the other side of the mountain , thr mom gave birth to a living child
305. BJ Ashlock
I am so grateful that Dean had a little time in Oregon. Not only did he touch lives in other areas where he labored and visited, he touched out lives too. It is comforting to my heart, he was not alone when he left this earth, he had his best Friend, and Father with him. His love an care will be missed by all!
306. Leonard and Crystal Sutton
We have a special place in our hearts for Dean. We’ll remember his gentle, caring, thoughtful way and wonderful example!! A great privilege to be a part of this great family. We will miss him but thankful he lived for this day and great comfort as we think of him now.
307. Yvonne Jinks
When coming into gospel mtg Dean was there to greet us with a smile. Lesson in that for me.
308. David & Wendy Chetty
We met Dean at the Western Australian convention. Very encouraged by his message. A faithful servant.

311. joyce Szakacs
We feel very thankful for many good memories over the years of our special times when Dean’s godly influence touched our lives whether by his presence at convention or by his poems or hymns that all conveyed a depth that fed the soul! This influence will continue to live on and inspire us to reach the heavenly goal.
312. Don and Jerri Reynolds
Another voice from the Homeland to keep us. “Wherever you ripe fields behold, Waving to God their sheaves of gold, be sure some corn of wheat has died, Some faithful life been crucified;…”
313. Delbert & Penny Lewis
Somethings in life come as a dramatic shock but in faith we can accept it especially when a life has been totally immersed in God’s will. Dean in his kindness each year prior to Ronan would send us an invitation. There were no borders with Dean as we are apart of God’s family here on earth. Many of his messages resound in our hearts thru out the years. Dean was not getting ready for this day but was ready.
314. Brandon and Tiffany Yung
We were part of the group saying goodbye to Dean when he left Manhattan going to Oregon kind of similar state of shock when we heard he was gone. Many good days with Dean a true servant and friend to all.
315. Harriet Cossentine
Dean professed September 9, 1966 when Carol Sorenson (who was in her first year in the work) and I had meetings in our friends’ home in Hopkins MN. From the time Dean started in the work ten years later, he wrote to Carol and me on September 9, whether he was north of the Arctic Circle or in Greece, thanking us for our part in his beginning. I’ll miss his September 9 letter, his faithful communication and the sharing of his poems and hymns.
316. Ilaine
Very thankful to have dean in our field this year, a time that was much too short.

321. Dan and Audrey Snyder
We have special memories of Dean’s visit to our convention in Cape Town, South Africa in 2013. An esteemed and faithful Servant of God.
322. Sherry Furlong
Well Dean, it has been a pleasant journey from those early days in Alaska, from the gospel meeting in the log cabin at Dot Lake, standing room only under a Colman lantern. How I remember you kneeling to have a quiet moment with Ellen’s dog the night before leaving Alaska for Montana and how I enjoyed supporting you at Ronan convention! I surmise it was just as hard to leave Montana, but as you said more than once: ” Circulation is good for the body.” We pray to embrace it!
323. Karen Cole
Dean always had a meaningful, grace filled way of presenting the gospel. One realized that our Heavenly Father cares for us, wants what is best for us and that through His Son, we can know the way from time into eternity. We can learn as we journey through life how to love on earth as Christ loves so that we will enjoy heaven and while we prepare for that transition we have the hope of an expected end. And that is a beautiful hope. He will be missed but when those we love go ahead of us, it encourages us to be faithful and to finish the journey in victory as he did.
324. Joel, Shonna & Aleah Reynolds
We’ve been glad to have seen Dean a few times. We’ve always appreciated that he shared things in a way that was easy to remember.
325. Gail Thrasher
I value the privilege we had of having Dean in Montana and Great Falls. He was a true Brother and Shepherd. The kindness and care he showed is remembered and appreciated. After hearing that Dean had passed, what he spoke at a meeting at Ft Benton, Mt, has stayed in my thoughts – the essence of his message was that God’s Word is a gold mine and he asked how much time do you spend working it? It is such a good reminder of what is of value in this life and where the focus needs to be. Dean’s life showed that was what he valued.
326. Jeff and Pam Uding
We are just so thankful for many ways that Dean has been a help to us over many years, because of his love for all the will of God. Thinking of the family too.
327. Wes Walker
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints, and certainly the servants too. Dean was a wonderful example and inspiration in holding the standard, that the ministry be not blamed. He labored wholeheartedly and without reserve, as one who must give account. My life was immeasurably improved by my times with Dean through the years, and many memories come to mind, but maybe this one best sums up Dean’s dedication to the work and fervent desire that none should perish, but all should come to repentance: he and I were having a cup of coffee in the Tacoma mall one day, just watching the throngs of people come and go. After watching everyone for a while, he looked at me and said “you sure do have to wonder about all these souls.”
328. Lori Meola
I met Dean at our convention here in IL and again at my home convention in the Philippines in 2019. It was very , very special convention. My family had a picture with him and with Ray Hoffman. I truly appreciate what he spoke at that conv.. The things Jesus brought to the Sunday morning mtg on the day of His resurrection. He brought peace, showed the mark of death on his hands and side, brought victory, a Godly example ( forgiveness) and the Spirit of God. John 20. If we bring all this to mtg. then we can say, I have seen God.” May we all have Peace in our hearts today.
329. Betty Windish
Dean was a wonderful person and Worker. He had a way of speaking, that was able to calm and settle my heart and mind. We are going to miss him. Hugs
330. Leonard & Pam Lambott
We are thankful for Dean and his example of being a humble servant of God and a true minister of the Gospel. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and fellow servants tomorrow and in the days following.
331. Clara Sullivan
Thankful for God’s faithful servants. Faithful to the end, Dean was such a help in communicating gems. Want to follow that example in communicating.
332. Ruth Shannon
I know Dean. Will truly be missed
333. Bill & Carolyn Gonce
We first met Dean before he started in the Work, he was such a help to us in the building of the Juneau convention grounds in his first years there. We appreciate Dean more than words can express, as by the dates of his poems and hymns, we know that many were written during times of duress, and instead of complaints or discouragement, beautiful words came forth of the relationship he had with his Master. Was a privilege to have him here in Oregon his last five years as well. If we had to describe his life in one word, that would be zeal.
334. Ed and Sue Sloan.
No words can express what Dean has meant to us. He was a wonderful Shepherd and friend to all. It is with joy and sorrow interwoven that we know God’s plan is best.
335. Gary & Jo Friedly
It is with great sadness that we post on this memorial site. Enjoyed your brotherly fellowship, kindness & understanding extended to me personally & my family those years you labored in Montana.
336. Ulysses LaPrairie
Sending thoughts of appreciation for Dean’s time in Louisiana.. From the LaPrairies at Effie Convention grounds .
337. Miles and Arlene Henke
Dean, in life and now in memory, will always be an special inspiration to us. We have recently had very bright night skies in Montana and while we were looking at the stars this portion from DAN 12:3 came to mind and especially thought of Dear Dean–
“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever…”
338. Jeanette Clayton Pedginski
Dean wrote “My Heart’s Desire” at Walla Walla, WA, May 15, 1989: “I long to be like Jesus, The Father’s Holy Child; To have more of His Spirit, Meek, Loving, Lowly, Mild. I long to live for Jesus, And glorify His name; In life and death to magnify, And all His Will proclaim. I long to love as Jesus, The souls of all mankind; To ever search and labor, With Him lost sheep to find. I long to serve as Jesus, To wash my brother’s feet; Bow down to take the lowly place, Such service makes life sweet. I long to be with Jesus, Amid the Heav’nly throng; To ever bow and worship, And sing Redemption’s Song!”
Now all of Dean’s longings have come to pass, and he is with Jesus. I professed in Dean’s meetings in Fairbanks, AK, in 1977, and have appreciated his testimony and his encouragement through all these years. May we all strive for a closer relationship with our Savior and feel God’s blessings each day, just as Dean did.
339. Robyn C Propp
Dean drove all the way from Wyoming to Edmonton, Alberta in the middle of winter in December, 2015 to take the Graveside service for Uncle Willis Propp. His message at the graveside was so appropriate and such a comfort to myself and all of the Propp family. His extreme effort is greatly appreciated and he will forever have a special place in the hearts of the Propp family because of his dedication, care, comfort and compassion.
340. Tom Foster
I first met Dean at Juneau convention about 1981 and the last time we heard, saw and visited him was Post Falls convention 2022. Our paths crossed many times between those two dates and it was always inspiring. Thanks for all until we meet again.
341. CAROL MARAS
Hebrews 13 verses 1 and 2. Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgerful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. I’ve often felt that if I’ve had this priviledge, it would have taken place, in Dean’s presence.
342. Stephen Bentz
Dean was a encouragement to Me over the years I valued his example his encouraging poems and Hymns he will be missed by all
343. Charles Green
I remember Dean’s first full mission in Fairbanks, AK in 1976, the year I first professed, and working with him and others at Juneau preps. He was so gentle and studious as a young man, and always. One of his favorite poems, “ The Touch of the Master’s Hand”, will always remind me of him. Charles Green
344. Lita
Each of Dean’s visits here were much appreciated! And more so now. Thankful for his life and example that continue to encouraged us all to keep on in the journey with our Lord till we finished also.
345. Joanne and Larry Mack
Like many others we were shocked to hear of Dean’s passing, but we know our Heavenly Father has a reason for everything. We also know it is not our place to question why, but it will certainly leave a void in our area. We will always remember and appreciate having Dean in our field this last year.
346. Wayne Mills
I believe Dean was clay in the hand of the Master Potter. I’m thankful for his example.
347. Gary and Bonnie Vance
Dean had the gift of making one feel very loved and cared for. Every time that we had a little time with him he would ask about each of the children by name; where they were, how they were doing. One more has been added to that ‘great cloud of witnesses’. He has been a good friend.
348. Roger and Linda Benjamin
We valued our times with Dean in our home when he was in our field in MT, and the many times we heard him speak. His sweet influence will continue.
349. Bec Holmquist
The ripples of Dean’s life span 41 years for me. He was the very first worker I heard at my first convention….I still remember what he shared. My last touch was at Post Falls…after a short visit he asked about Lindi. His heart was very involved in the ministry. Dean lived out the words he spoke from the platform. His life matched his preaching. Death came unexpectedly but was no surprise. His influence on my heart has been & will continue to encourage & inspire me~not focusing on Dean but on his dying daily so the life of Jesus was clearly seen.
350. Brian and Heather MacCallum
Sorry to hear that news you lost a good and faithfull servant on the coast. We didn`t know Dean except our experience was almost practically the same in time for professing up till he went into the work wheras I stayed single. (Same years of age, start in truth , leaving home and type of job) I never thought much about it however, we can say for sure we are truly thankfull he gave his life to God for also our benefit then and today. Our condolences to the family at this time.
351. Cristina gin&
I had the chance of listening to him in our Seagrave convention here in East Toronto and he had given me the privilege to listen to Boring convention last year on the phone. His memories will always remain in my heart; a true faithful servant of God!
352. Don Magnus
Hymn 397. Fading away like the stars of the morning, losing their light in the glorious sun. Thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling, only remembered by what we have done. We are only here for a little while….like a meteor we burn bright then we are gone….only remembered by what we have done. Your name will always bring loving thoughts of a life well spent…what more could anyone want.
353. Mike Robertson
47 years of wonderful memories is the gift he left for me. I miss my friend, but I know there are no tears there, as he has entered fully into the far greater bond with the “well beloved Bridegroom of our soul”
354. Jeff Read
Dean. Life is short. I remember you playing the violin and someone playing the piano in the old Silvernail home at Milltown convention. Ministry. Humble spirit. Good man of God. Rest in peace. Your friend and brother. JR
355. Butch and Janis Caston
We were shocked beyond words when we first heard that Dean had died.
This past year has been a wonderful privilege, as we got to know him through private visits and hear him in gospel meetings.
Dean was an inspiring brother, servant, poet, and speaker. He will be greatly missed.
356. Jim Shelby
I was in the convention at Ronan MT with Dean and he came to Bradley OK convention two times which was where I lived and very pleasant to be with him.
357. Janeen Jackson
Dean was special to my late husband Jimmy and myself. He spent one special meeting time with us on our ranch and we just so loved that time. We had some contact with his folks in Az before we came to Montana. Dean kept in touch by letter and I have loved the poems and hymns he has shared. His passing leaves a real empty spot in the lives of so many. He was an inspiration and encouragement and a true friend and brother.
358. Mary and Dean Holskey

I met Dean at Cavite Convention Phil, in 1994, I was struggling for the work that year. In 1995 I went in the work. Dean’s life encouraged me. In 2019 he came back to Cavite conv. But missed him, as I was caring for mother…
361. Lilly kitto
Not so much a specific memory but just the remembrance of his kind encouragement to continue in faith was so beautiful.
362. Chuck Habner
You lived a selfless life …. You were more than CALLED you were DEDICATED to YOUR CALLING and all of us benefited from your 100% commitment to God. Thank you for your example, your kindness, for your Spirit that moved us, for your stories that inspired us. You always sought to magnify the LORD in your life and not yourself …. We Appreciate your faithful WITNESS right up to the end of your journey. You will be missed but never forgotten. You were a True Servant, a Faithful Friend, a Brothers Keeper , and now a part of that GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES. Thanks for the memories in that one year we had together in North Seattle, and for the 40+ years we visited together . It was a privilege to see you and hear you again at “ Shelter Valley Convention “ ….. we will remember your powerful words of advice “ Before going out to the battle field —— KEEP the FLAG HIGH, but KEEP YOURSELF LOW”.
363. Merle and Kathy Hill

364. Hal Thompson
This poem was penned by one of the friends on the day we heard Dean passed. It includes a phrase that Dean often said as well as a reference to his death at Government Camp at the base of Mt. Hood in Oregon. It’s also written in Dean’s style of poem writing…
A Grand and Glorious Day!
It’s a Grand and Glorious Day! O’er which flesh can hold no sway, For the Mountain Top’s in sight- Inspiration in its height! Keep on climbing, lifting eyes, To That Land above the skies, To our Saviour waiting there, With his Tender Heart of Care!
It’s a Grand and Glorious Day! For an Angel came my way! In his arms I sailed once more! To that Grand and Glorious Shore! Where I joined the Brightest Cloud, Who before The Throne are bowed, Singing Heavnly Songs for aye- It’s The Grand and Glorious Day!
in memory of Dean Bruer
365. Laurel S
I miss Dean’s prayers on behalf of those of us whom he helped find courage to go labor in other lands. His deep belief that the “field is the world” has extended hope to many in so many places.

We always loved to hear Dean Bruer, when he came up to our Alberta Conventions. We were always encouraged by his very helpful messages. He was a very Godly man. His messages were always simple, and very rich. I looked back at my old Convention Note books, and loved reading them over again. It is evident by his Hymns, that he loved God, and loved to pray. We think with Sympathy to the Oregon staff, and also to his family.

I have known Dean his whole life as my family and his family met at Carter’s for Sun mtg in Hutchinson, MN. Diane was 3 and Dean was 1. I appreciated Ray and Florence though I was only about 10. It was a privilege when Dean came to MT/WY to be our overseer. His gentle Spirit he brought into our home was always appreciated. His sharing in and out of the meetings was always welcome and I learned so much. Our loss is heavens gain.
374. Terri Marsh
A life consumed by the Fire of God’s love.. Dean seemed an old soul when he started in the ministry.. Yet, he seemed too young at his death.! Indebted we are for taking such good care of the Light!

There is a void in our hearts as we remember Dean. He was a humble servant to all, an inspiration in his living . . . a kind, tender-hearted shepherd amongst us. We valued his friendship, poems and hymns . . . they were an expression of his heart. Dean is reaping bountifully what he sowed and Heaven is rejoicing in victory over the grave. We want to strive for the same victorious end.
393. Marlyce and Lee Barndt
Putting Jesus first and desiring the King’s return was of utmost importance to Dean. He encouraged us to know well and love the Bridegroom of our soul. His influence will long be remembered.

I knew Dean when he came to Alaska to work. Years later I have enjoyed his spirit, his poetry, music and preaching. So much has fed my heart. I will miss him spiritualizing Alaska, my birth place. In the last while Dean has been so kind in sending workers lists, speaking lists and workers convention photos plus more. I will miss his caring touch. When I heard he had passed it was a shock but my heart swelled with joy for his triumphant victory and beautiful crown of glory. Deep condolances to family, staff and friends that miss him so.
395. Nancy Hickok Hunter

396. Gail Stiteler
I loved to listen to Dean speak. He always seemed to have such a tender heart and it often humbled me. I loved hearing the stories he told. I know he influenced many, many lives within in the kingdom and likely outside as well. He truly filled his place in helping to shepherd the flock here on earth. I am so thankful we saw and heard him again at Post Falls three weeks ago. He will be greatly missed but so thankful to know he has gone on to the reward of a faithful servant.
397. Marion Squire

I am thankful for Dean‘s kindness to me while I was in the Work and since, and so thankful for his Godly influence that lives on. We all feel such a great loss, but also such a comfort to think of Dean going on to what he loved so much. Truly that is our goal as well.
