Paul Orvill Karther passed away July 10, 2021 from complications of Covid 19. He was born September 20, 1941. Hed suffered a stroke sometime in the past so disability played a great deal into it, we feel. He was cremated. His memorial was today, July 24, 2021, because his 2 sons had Covid same time he did and family waited until they were well. Craig Winquist and Daniel Farris had the service.
I hadn't seen Daniel for a few years. And of course, time has marked him as it does all of us. I'd wanted to ask Daniel about his brother, Phillip. Daniel, Phillip and their mother, Marsha had been in meetings with Paul some years ago when the twins were quite young. Daniel has returned here often to see his father in Oklahoma. Many will miss the quiet steadiness of Paul.

Wally or Nathan, you might remember Harold and Florence Downs? Paul was Florence's youngest brother. Harold and Florence lived in Washington state.

Harold and Florence were very special folks. They lived in Everett, Washington during the 1960's and 70's about. Then moved to Aberdeen, Washington as I recall.

It seems I remember my father, -who had been in the work then, -talking about someone named "Farris" who was also in the work at that time.

He and your dad preached together in Eastern Kentucky in 1928-1929 when my mother was a little girl. She remembered them walking along the country roads and her dad attending their meetings then. Daniel and his brother Philip are the only two workers with the Farris surname that I know of.

What was your mother's name?
(if you don't want to put her name here could you PM me?
I would love hear more about her story about them!)

I had a list of workers from about 1919 to 1950 but I think it went to my Aunt and seems to me I remember her asking me if she give it to one of our overseers...Likely Jim Brown. He was interested about that because he and Willie Brown came from Scotland with his family while the boys were still young nd he knew who had been in UK at that time, so he wanted that list to match.

Mr. FARRIS HAD LIVED CLOSE TO ME FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. IM NOT CERTAIN HES STILL ALIVE. But his family professed. He didn't like it because he thought it was a woman's church.
