You don't realize that you don't want to see black people do anything to draw attention to their problems because you don't want to even acknowledge that they have any problems in our society and for no other reason than the fact tht their skin in black.
Where you are castigating her for her actions I am appauding her for her courage.
It takes courage to stand up for what is right, -in this case by taking a knee!
A pledge of "allegence" to a flag and crossing your heart means diddly-squat if a person's actions does not correspond to the meaning behind that "allegence."
True, I don't think discrimination is as rampant as it once was at all. It gets tiring seeing blacks on the news rioting, looting, burning buildings down, and killing each other.
All of that doesn't exactly create a positive image, and those who complain about it are called racist. But no, constant civil unrest just brings negative feedback, that's something that Martin Luther King was keenly aware of. People don't have problems because of their color, but because of their behavior. We all have the same rights and opportunities today.

You don’t represent America. You represent the Pharisee. You fell for the Covid 19 scam. First of all it was manufactured. When it was used to depreciate freedom and dignity in collaboration with communism’s desire to rule the world you joined, in lock step. You, UNfixit, and the rest of his UNmerry band.
ain't that the truth....i think the number is a little off though it was about 97% for those under 65 and 85% for those over 65 or with underlying conditions...

true patriot and part of the Black Mass. 54th regiment(first official black unit of the war) which were portrayed in the very excellent movie "Glory". Carney actually participated in the battle portrayed at the end of the movie the Assault on Fort Wagner. they lost and the confederate fort was never taken but History was made. the 54th were the first to storm the fort and they suffered about 40-50% casualties during the battle. a regiment of the time had about 1000-1200 men so they would have lost about 500-600 men. i highly recommend the movie for just a hint of what they went through.

If one wishes to represent the USofA in the Olympics, one would do well to not be quite so disgusted with the National Anthem. What a disgraceful display she put on.
Why does she even want to be there?

Downunder we care about the 1% and are willing to put ourselves out for them. The deadliest pandemic in human history costed the US 675K deaths in 1918. We're at 605K and counting currently. I'm proud of my country in many different areas, but when it comes to how we collectively viewed COVID, am ashamed.

I stand and say the pledge of allegiance at council meetings monthly. I do not say "under god". Should I be drawn and quartered?

I stand and say the pledge of allegiance at council meetings monthly. I do not say "under god". Should I be drawn and quartered? It's hard to please everybody. Jesus tried to separate church and state. The result? The church arrested him and handed him over to the state to be crucified. Mark 12:14 “Teacher,” they said, “we know how honest you are. You are impartial and don’t play favorites. You teach the way of God truthfully. Now tell us—is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? 15 Should we pay them, or shouldn’t we?” Jesus saw through their hypocrisy and said, “Why are you trying to trap me? Show me a Roman coin, and I’ll tell you.” 16 When they handed it to him, he asked, “Whose picture and title are stamped on it?” “Caesar’s,” they replied. 17 “Well, then,” Jesus said, “ give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.” His reply completely amazed them.

Annan, Be very careful! -you could be "drawn and quartered!"
Maybe you could just lip sync the 'under god' part.
That way it wouldn't count but it would still make the other people believe you did.

As far as a human goes, Trump was/is the first "see also" link in any dictionary definition of "Vice".
He was/is such a tool that the pragmatic accomplishments of his administration are not easy to see or acknowledge. The shame from my vantage point is that he could've accomplished every single thing he did without being a pompous jerk. In being so, he attracted a subset of psycho followers who weren't able to tell fact from fiction. Trump is a BS artist, but the people he fooled most were his ardent followers who worshiped him.
Nobody but himself could've beat him. It is indeed a testament to our system of checks and balances that things didn't go a whole lot worse. Mike Pence had a major role in that, when he stood tall against a mob chanting for him to be hung. It's almost worth the abject incompetence of the current administrative when I think about the hordes of red-hatted MAGAs bitterly grinding their teeth and sharing increasingly stupid conspiracy memes.

Yes, Mike Pence did his part in standing for democracy. Also the Supreme Court held firm - in spite of Trump's efforts to tilt it towards the right.

I think Trump actually believed they would be loyal to him over the constitution. Shows how deluded he was.

I think Trump actually believed they would be loyal to him over the constitution. Shows how deluded he was. [/ quote] Not only is Trump deluded but he seems to actually have a mental condition know as Narcissistic Personality Disorder Narcissistic Personality Disorder has nine traits. 1. Grandiosity – This is an unrealistic view of oneself that they are bigger than life and better than others
2. Arrogant and Domineering – think they are better than everyone else. They know more than anyone else. Controlling of others and dominating.
3. Preoccupation with Success and Power
4. Lack of empathy – an inability to care about the feelings of others or put themselves in someone else’s shoes
5. Belief of being unique – they feel very different than other people, like there is only one person that is anything like them at all
6. Sense of entitlement – They are owed things. They are entitled to anything and everything that they want and desire, including taking over the lives of other people. There is no appreciation when people do anything for them because they were entitled to it, in the first place.
7. Requires excessive admiration – they want to be admired and paid attention to all the time. They have no tolerance for anyone else being in the spotlight.
8. Exploitative – they will take advantage of other people for their own best interest. They will take more than they give, refuse to pay people for their services in a fair way …if at all, and use people up until there is nothing left of them
9. Envious of others – they are resentful when other people have things that they feel entitles to. They become angry when they see that other people have things that they do not
If there is even one of these that Trump DOESN'T have, -I would like to know whch one anybody thinks it is!

But NO, we do NOT all have the same rights and opportunities today!
I know that you don't want to believe that institutional/systemic racism does exist even today.
But it does and blacks are fully aware of the truth of it becasue they live with it every day of their lives.
When I find more time I will post some research on the subject.

Let alone the government of "the greatest country" as thought of by many in the world.

Trump wes his own man. He was a real man. That’s why cowards hated him. That’s why all you lying cowards hated him. I actually liked a lot of his policies, and I said so on here. I just didn’t like the man that the media portrayed, so I tried to overlook that. It was his post election performance, Live and for all to see, that persuaded me to see that his character was too damaged to be President again. To suggest that those who disagree with you are lying cowards is completely over the top, and uncalled for. Why do you have so much hate?

Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men. For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain. Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies. - Psalm 139:19-22

I don't know what has happened to him to cause this change.
Perhaps it is his joining a group that could be affecting this change.
