Wally why do you kick so hard against the pricks? Are you scared of a good theological debate? Or is it that the as 2x2's in general avoid biblical discussions because they are theologically challenged usually beyond their depth? Scared to be awakened to their limited Irvinite doctrine?? Magpie what you do isn't debate its more of an inane rant....

I never confined it to Christianity.... it goes without saying that Christianity itself is exclusive Christ is the only way... Other's claim their way is the only way....

Humans can live without religion but they can't live without spirituality. These are two different entities yet get intertwined due to the lack of awareness among the people. It is a matter of fact that we humans are trivial in this universe. Some more so than others.

Just a commodity, some need, some don't. that is about as asinine as it comes... I don’t think it’s asinine. Makes sense you have a personal relationship with God/Jesus and the church is your community/support system if required. Or do you not believe in having a personal relationship with God/Jesus.

not all Christian denominations are right that is impossible. Who decides which religion is correct each religion says they are right. Who has god told? The 2x2s have always claimed they are the one true way I can remember in the late 80's standing on the veranda of the meeting home after the Sunday meeting and May Rowe the worker saying look at those poor lost souls. She was referring to the people going to the church across the road Truth was she wouldn't have a clue what the people going to that church were thinking or how they felt or what they believed. The 2x2s have always been so self righteous in that they are the only right way.

I remember my mom saying (when I referred to 2x2ism as a religion) that it isn’t a religion but a lifestyle. I wish I would have asked her what she meant by that. I tend to think it’s not such a bad lifestyle if the religion were left out of it but then it would probably disintegrate.

Seems like every Christian denomination differentiates themselves in some small manner, but God judges the individual.
Imo, anyone who holds the basic tenets of Christianity is saved. 1. Christ is the Son of God. 2. He came for the remission of sin. 3. He is the only way to salvation. 4. His sacrifice and resurrection. 5. He's coming back in judgement.. Believing these fundamentals makes you a Christian.
The apostles were sent to spread the Word, they had to verbally spread the gospel because the New Testament wasn't written yet. Even after it was written, the few copies were only read in churches (no printing press then), so verbally reading the letters was a necessary manual task.
Today, the gospel has been published in hundreds of languages worldwide. Church is essentially reduced to teaching and edification, because nearly everyone has heard of Christ, who he was, his purpose, and his teachings and example.
The way is Christ, anyone aware of his truth and believes in him is saved, nothing complicated about it.

Just because a myth is published in every language with all it falsehoods what does that prove?

If in fact a myth, it proves nothing... But if its the truth, it ought to be self-evident simply by virtue of the fact that the truth cannot be proven false.
To my knowledge, no one in 2000 years has proven anything Christ said to be false. The Truth has a way of bearing witness of itself.
But of course, we are called by faith, and its by faith that we believe physical verification of the truth is on its way. (someday)

If you don't believe or adhere to Jesus New Testament gospel teachings, do you think God still grant you the Holy Spirit? Once we believe, adhere to Jesus teachings then we can truly and must have personal relationship with God the Father, Christ God and Holy Spirit/God and with his true followers, those like minded lust like we read in 1st century church.

"anything Christ said" First I think there was a man named Yeshua who was born of a relative un-important family in Nazareth (not the modern town we know of that name today). For whatever reason stories sprang up and were embellished. But since no one uses his real name it just shows they know nothing about him. And then these stories were used to control people. Mean while back in 2021 please walk on water of turn water into wine without high-tech. If religion was so great then there would be no problem keeping our planet fit for human life until we have the tech to find a new home.

It is a fallacy in critical thinking to try to make the case that just becasue it has "not been proven that anything Christ said was false," that therefore what he said must be true.

Where is the proof that anyone called Christ said anything? Probably a passing reference in the Welsh poem Y Gododdin, a work of uncertain date attributed to the bard Aneirin. And there after many stories sprang up about Arthur until critical thinking historians presented the real history of Britain.

This is not necessarily a criticism of God/Jesus but remaining cognizant of the fact that the Bible was written by man complicated even more by translation. I prefer a personal relationship.

Once you are born again, God the Father grant you the Holy Spirit and He opens your understanding of the scriptures in any translations. When you understand Jesus teachings then you will have deep and meaningful relationship with God the Father, Christ/God and the Holy Spirit/God. That is God's method or way of doing things most of the time.

Many of those who raised and LEFT the 2x2 fellowship believed they hear and KNOW everything about the Way and truth of Jesus. God and Christ reveal the Truth and Way as we continue walking in truth. God will give us more understanding and revelation! But to those who give up then God takes away what they have. If they REPENT then God will RESTORE their vision and give them more understanding. The life of Paul was a good example! If he had disobeyed the resurrected Christ instruction to meet Ananais and be baptized by him, he would have lost his natural and spiritual vision and understanding the Way and Truth of Jesus Christ.

We are well aware of the party line.” I understand what you are saying but I do not agree with it. Reinforcing what you say by referencing what a worker said does not prove anything.
