Yeonmi Park - born in North Korea - hunted grasshoppers to survive as a child, was told that because of her ancestors, she was relegated to a certain 'status' (in the "most free" communist utopia, North Korea) sold into sex slavery in China, crossed the Gobi desert to escape, finally arrived in the US.
Attended a "woke" university where she was told that she had to hate white men, and there were certain words she could and could not say, and certain things she could and could not think.
The reason we must reject far-right ideas is apparent. Yeonmi Park presents the precise reason we should reject far-left ideas.
As a university professor, the fact that she experienced this in an Ivy League school in the humanities department is near-criminal. I teach one humanities course - History and Philosophy of the Biological Sciences. It is most decidedly not a woke course, and presents Western Civilization in the proper light - as the catalyst for scientific enlightenment and free discovery. I also spend a whole unit on the Golden Age of Islam, and the brilliance of the Arabic and Persian chemists, and the advances in philosophical reasoning which were fostered by the Greek Academy system. The one theme that these three periods of rapid advances in knowledge have? Freedom of thought. It shocks people to understand that Islamic universities and societies were once welcoming to Jews and Christians alike, and that girls were encouraged to attend primary schools. With every incremental step towards freedom, culture becomes more enriched. The promise of Western Civilization was the notion of the freedom of mind bestowed on the sovereign individual. We must progress toward that end. That means absolutely ending systemic racism where we find it. That means absolutely promoting freedom and equality of choice (not outcome) for all.
The first video is with Hannity and Huckabee. The second very long one is with Jordan Peterson, and is probably the most powerful interview I've seen, maybe ever.
