Why would this cause Police to leave the force. Responsible Police Officers would know that they are not above the law and permitted to murder people.

Responsible Police Officers would know that they are not above the law and permitted to murder people. cops are already leaving at a good clip for defunding the police, this will drive even more away...and at the same time as more good cops leave it will leave the worse ones behind...therefore not solving a thing...

I think Chauvin flipped under pressure. He didn’t need to keep George kneed so long.
That said, I see him as a man who’s in all of us, when “doing the right thing” becomes so hard that we rebel, and consciously do the wrong thing.
Let’s remember Floyd was a bad man. Let’s also remember that we, Im talking about the you and the me, deputized Chauvin by our governmental constitution to confront evil because we didn’t have the time. Or appropriately for our day and age, because we believed the people we hire to arrest malefactors can do it more efficiently, and more importantly, with more excellence and integrity before the law than we can individually.
—-
Chauvin may have had acute personal issues, IDK
He and Floyd knew each other and didn’t like each other. Does that excuse Chauvin in his professional capacity? Yes and no. His first responsibility was to exercise the law fairly to all. But no one is above being human. As far as I know, their personal brushes in the past did not appear in any argument of the defense or prosecution.
And that might be the biggest story of all. The damned thing evolved from a personal conflict. And no one paid attention.
——
Meanwhile people will riot again or not.
I suppose not now that he was convicted on all charges.
Some black people may see this as a vindication of white oppression. But not all. Many blacks, many people of color, many women, many gays, many people not Christian ..........
many people continue to see and impute more freedom and opportunity to America beyond any other nation on earth.
Why?
(Hint) Its not because communism and centrally controlled governance is superior to the individualism protected under the constitution of the USA

Can't quite understand your hypothesis on this one Wally. If the Police are not allowed to murder people they will leave the force. Seems all wrong to me. I thought the function of the Police was to stop people murdering each other.

Not in Gods world.
In Gods world all truth relates to the facts, and all facts relate to the truth.
The 11th commandment reads,
”Thou shalt not be passive”.

Maxine Waters was a beauty, arguing for violence on a premise of inequity.

I don't disagree with Derek Chauvin conviction for suffocating George Floyd, but I get the feeling that if Chauvin was a black cop and Floyd was white, we wouldn't have heard much about this case?
Side note; The Oathkeeper's aren't reliant on Christian donations, membership dues are only $50 annually, and there are only a few thousand members. But a more radical bunch with a propensity towards violence did splinter off.

It is not a survival instinct, it has changed to Dog eat Dog. If there is to be a turn around in America, everybody must become more passive and less gung-ho. First step, put the guns away.

Do not understand how any Christian person would condone murder. You would think they would uphold the fifth commandment. It got in ahead of adultery.
5.Thou shalt not kill! 6.Thou shalt not commit adultery!

It got in ahead of adultery. 5.Thou shalt not kill! 6.Thou shalt not commit adultery! as i said before not everyone agrees that it was murder so no condoning is going on...good try though 5. is best read as "thou shalt not murder" or more specifically "thou shalt not lay in wait to do harm" <<<got that from a guy that knew hebrew i repeat not everyone agrees that it was murder...
