Wife and myself hiding our own Easter eggs today, knowing full well we will not be able to find them tomorrow. Happens all the time in this house, we put things in a safe place, very safe, never found again.
Happy Easter everybody, enjoy going to Church and spending time with Family and Friends, also your Easter eggs and hot cross buns.

Happy Easter everybody, enjoy going to Church and spending time with Family and Friends, also your Easter eggs and hot cross buns. We have the same problem here, redback - in our sunset years, things are often put away too safely, so we can never find them later. Doesn't happen to our easter eggs though - our unspoken motto there seems to be 'eat them before we lose them' !!

Thanks Pip for your post. Nice to know we are in good company. Maybe we might take your advice, not hide them, eat instead. " A Bird in the hand, is worth two in the Bush".

Easter is a good time to take a break from debating gay marriage and remember an unmarried guy who hung out with 12 guys.

I have to wonder why Judas did not just point out Jesus to the Roman soldier but had to kiss him.

...and you are kind to believers of any religion including Christians? It is their beliefs I ridicule not the person, well mostly like that. After all when you hear a christian bashing Haloween and then they have a holiday called easter celebrating the dead coming to laugh.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't or maybe he just masturbated a lot.

Even if you you don't agree with beliefs, it is no excuse to show disrespect toward the person, or the group they belong to. You can still learn from them and enjoy their company. Churches enjoy feast days, you can also share in that enjoyment with them. We will go to Church tomorrow, Easter Sunday always do. We are fortunate where we live, five Churches within walking distance. Uniting, Anglican, Baptist, Catholic and Presbyterian. Don't know about 2x2 they tend to keep it secret and not sure if we would be allowed admission. I let my Wife make the choice, and because of her failing health, walking is becoming difficult, she needs her wheelie, walker. So I would say it will be Uniting just on the opposite side of the road, 100 meters walk. The brand doesn't matter, they all preach the same message Christ, just a few unimportant variations that really don't matter, not worth arguing about.

Not about right or wrong Wally, gave that game up a long time ago. After all it is only a difference in beliefs, everybody is entitled to that. It is about enjoying fellowship with them, and learning from it. You do it with an open mind and not pushing your barrow.
You can do it in a Church, you can do it in a Pub, I am doing it right now with you on TMB.

if i am remembering right, it is confusing at times. lets remember about 2000 years ago very very early this morning Jesus was arrested. then earlier today(9amish) he was crucified and put in his grave. then he rose sometime early sunday morning somewhere between the hours of 5-7AM(about sunrise). some have a different time line but the above one is the most common understood one. the year is confusing sometimes too depending on when we think Jesus was born. there is a good case it was before 4BC as King Herod died in 4BC and since Herod was looking for those 2 and under it could have been 6BC when Christ was born. this puts the earliest date for the crucifixion at 27AD when he would have been 33 years old. if it was 30AD when he died he would have been 36 years old and if it was 33AD(common understanding)he would have been 39. this also means he started his ministry around 24AD-30AD... this DVD: bethlehemstar.com/ i believe puts his birth around 6BC-4BC using astronomy software. <<<you atheists should like it its science....

Just an observation on this board. Maybe it is because we have had to put up with Christians offending us for so many years & we were unable do anything about it.
All of my childhood and a lot of my adult life, many of us could not say ANYTHING about what we really thought or how we felt.
We could hardly THINK about something different, -let alone speak of it!
We constantly heard the name-calling and slurs heaped on anyone even slightly different from Christians.
Of course that doesn't excuse us- but it may explain why.
