What a shock, although I think he had a bad heart attack some years ago. I was younger than him but I knew him growing up. A very pleasant man will be missed.

Oh no! We were just recently communicating via email! I had asked him about the Aug 9, 1987 accident in Pismo Beach CA involving 2 other workers who died on their way to Gilroy CA convention. Alan referred me to his FB memorial he put together with loads of photos. So sad to learn about Alan's passing. He was a gentle, nonjudgmental, unassuming, humble, kind man. He was 61 years old and in the work from 1980 - 1998. He and his wife left meetings around 2010. His mother Thelma was my babysitter when I was under ten yrs old. Alan made 2271 posts on TMB since July 2010. professing.proboards.com/user/1548

A few days ago, I was reading many of Alan V. Older posts about the auto accident he was involved in with two other workers who died but he lived.
None of us know how much time we have to live on the earth, when or how we are going to die, that part belong to God. May God help us to use and spend our time wisely while here on earth.

Yes, Alan had a heart attack when he was living in Honolulu several years ago. It is just over a year now since his brother Steve had to have a heart transplant. He is doing quite well since then.

I appreciated his posts. An ex who was not bitter. ** Alan V. was very pleasant when he and I exchanged information or debate on different topics. We didn't always agree but we respected each others experiences and no names callings either.

Alan V. was a well likable and capable worker, when I read his old posts I wonder if Alan wished he had died with the other two workers in the auto accident.

Sorry to hear about Alan's passing. I enjoyed conversing with him from time to time. He was a genuinely nice guy who appreciated his heritage but was obviously happy to be part of God's family on earth. Nice to know that he is safe with the Lord now. It will be a real sad time for Jayne and thoughts and prayers are definitely with her.

got this today from WB
Some have started to ask if it’s true that my Uncle Alan VanDermyden, mom’s older brother, passed away. We got the news early this morning that he died of a heart attack on the way to the hospital in Guam. Uncle Alan was in the work in California, Guam, and some of the Islands around there from the early 80’s until the late 90’s. He was one of the three young brother workers in the car accident in California in 1987. The tentative plan is that he will be cremated and buried there in Guam.
Thank you for your care,
Allyson

I only knew Alan VanDermyden from his posts on here but I do remember having favorable feeling about him from those posts.
