sad to report it but my Uncle Duane passed on today at the age of 87 in Texas he was my mothers sister Ruths husband. 2 wednesdays ago he appeared to be fine then on that saturday he suffered a serious decline. his sons wife(a Charles Goodnight relative)who's a nurse said to get him to the hospital pronto. he went in and they said he had pneumonia and that 2 of his valves were leaking. which FINALLY explained why he had little blood in his system for the the last 6 months or so. so they sent him home and started the hospice procedure for him, his son was thinking he might last 6 months or maybe even a year but then a couple days later Uncle Duane had a stroke and that pretty much finished him. it also just happened to be on the day of his stroke it was his 67th wedding anniversary. Yes they married young and if i am not mistaken my aunt ran away to marry him. they were VERY MUCH in Love and VERY DEPENDENT and CLOSE. his testimony is VERY interesting as he was not raised in the truth and didn't know about it until he was about 19/20 when he married my Aunt Ruth. sadly about 6 or so years ago they left the truth when a relative(that is on TMB)sent them some papers on the CSA in the truth(it might have been wings info)i can't remember but they seemed to have left almost immediately after receiving the info or fairly shortly after. they then turned to the Lutherans(his original church). they had professed 60+ years. he was big time into the automotive industry mainly selling parts for a major chain. his big love was travelling the country buying old junkers and fixing them up and selling them. his most favorite car was the ranchero/camino. he actually bought and sold so many cars at one point that the city/state in Iowa told him to stop because he did not have a license to do so. they had a hard time having children it took about 10 years then they had 2 boys but not anymore after that(complications?), they always wanted a little girl though. so whenever around my sister Uncle Duane would call her his "little punkin" and would say he was going to keep her forever. he would carry her everywhere with him when we visited. i remember we also along with my grandparents(the eichers) watched the 1st moon landing at their place(in 1969 i was 4)on a borrowed black and white TV. for my mother this has been VERY devastating. 1. he died 2. they stopped professing in the truth, for her the only way into heaven is through the truth(yes many still believe that). i've been trying to comfort her by saying the bible talks about believers and not denominations but that doesn't seem to be working. its a double whammy. he's going to be cremated, Aunt Ruth can't live alone(she's in a wheel chair now) and is going to her eldest sons place. if i ever get his testimony or his obit i will post it online for everyone...

No serpent took his crown away. Salvation is nothing to do with what denomination he attends. He never left God. Lutheran or otherwise, Christ dwells in the heart. Any loss is sad for loved ones left behind believers rejoice that they are with the Lord. What is sad Nathan is that you believe that a church started by some man 120 years ago saves. Are you going to be sad when your loved ones pass from this life because they didn't join your church. Are you going to say sad, sad,...the serpent took their crown..

Are you going to be sad when your loved ones pass from this life because they didn't join your church. Are you going to say sad, sad,...the serpent took their crown.. That is what you think, enuf. You believe in the wide gate 40,000 plus Protestant Denominations. Jesus said it differently Enter in the narrow gate/His Way and Truth on earth NOT the Wide gate/teachings and tradition of men ideas.... Matthew 7:13-23 The Narrow and Wide Gates
Jesus said 2000 years ago, “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
A Tree and Its Fruit “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.Jesus said “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; Leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ ~~ Enuf, you are TELLING people it is OK, to enter the WIDE gate (40,000 Plus) Protestant Denominations... and don't enter the narrow gate, which lead to eternal Life and FEW will find it. Jesus said enter the narrow gate that few will find it and NOT to enter the WIDE gate where MANY will enter it.... At the end, Jesus will say to them, "I NEVER KNEW YOU, LEAVE me, you who practice lawlessness." The Method and preaching of gospel message did NOT have the APPROVAL by God and Christ because they are false bride of Christ.

I knew some Meyers in Texas back in the early 1980s, but I'm not sure if they were connected to your aunt and uncle. Mrs. Meyers' name was Diane. I'm related to Ruth, though - she is a paternal first cousin of the husband of the aunt of the wife of my paternal first cousin.
