I cannot understand how some so called 2x2's do not respect other people. They are normally meek and humble persons, not using any aggression. Some on here seem to be angry all the time. I think they use this place to let out the anger they can't do among all the other friends. Although, I also do this to them. Being called a 'bitter ex' is for me the price of admission! đ

You need to get happy Wally, it is not good for your Health to not produce lots of Serotonin. Make the most of the here and now, that is something we know we have.
It does not do the mind any good to keep saying the World is in darkness. That would get you down.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.
Monty Python.
Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best
And Always look on the bright side of life Always look on the light side of life
If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing
And Always look on the bright side of life (Come on) Always look on the right side of life
For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow Forget about your sin Give the audience a grin Enjoy it, it's your lastâŚ

Yet again, if we knew what was within us, lurking beneath the surface of our superficial human cognition, I doubt we'd dare turn off the light.

Wally you don't come across as a happy man. Anyone who does not drink, no TV, no sex, no self pleasuring, must have a dull life. I suppose TV is not a big loss, you can get it on your computer.
You also have to understand that 2x2's have moved on, not complying with the silly rules made over 100 years ago. In our stupidity we fell into line. The 2x2 today is pretty much a normal person. Not hard to be friends with. With time common sense does prevail.

There is far more to life than the things you just listed but if they are all you have you'll have to make do won't you. i'm not so sure what "moving on" exactly means to you but i suspect it really means "falling away" and it has nothing to do with 2x2's specifically it has to do with Christianity as a whole and that is not the definition of common sense. try not to drag others down with you when you go. *** Right on, brother... I have a list of many brother and sisters workers died in the ministry died in the work at the age of 70-90. It can be done with the help and mercy from God. I know a few who most would consider "faithful to the end" who had arrangements with either other workers or single women. The percentage breaking the vow of celibacy, peeping toms, pedophiles ect is abnormally high within the 2x2 ministry. There is a reason why......

I think your wife's privacy deserves more respect than that!
I am coming to the realisation that you look at life only through your lens, and base so much of your opinion on your experience. Others have different experiences, plus people are different.
** Well, it wasn't my wife privacies I told you, but heard from many husbands who told me what their wives had told them for NOT having Sex that night. I give you an inside look in the life of Jesus and the apostolic ministry and his apostles/workers life... I Have been there and done that...you can believe or NOT to believe is up to the individual choice. "Marriage is good but NOT all that great either! Wife Says Honey, I have a headache tonight! Honey, it's time of the month, sorry. Oh, I am NOT in the mood.  I wish I had stay in the WORK!" If I'm not mistaken you just told a porkie Nathan. Funny how all these "husbands" wished they were back in the work........ it's almost like your talking about yourself...... oh that's right you are!. Maybe she doesn't feel like it........what would cause her to feel compelled to make excuses I wonder.....

** I have studied Matthew 19 very carefully because I was a worker this way I can back it it up why Jesus was a celibate preacher and he sent out the 12 and 70, Paul, Barnabas, Timothy, Silas, Mark, Luke, Titus and many women and men dedicate their lives as unmarried preachers like Jesus through the centuries! NOT just the 2x2 workers in 1900s. Marriage is good but NOT all that great either! Wife Says Honey, I have a headache tonight! Honey, it's time of the month, sorry. Oh, I am NOT in the mood. I wish I had stay in the WORK! I enjoyed my time in the work very much! I also enjoy being a husband and a father. Both places are good for me, I have the BEST of both worlds.

Are you telling me there are no divorces among the normal marriages? 50% of marriages end up in divorces according to the study a few years back. The percentage maybe higher now, Chuck.
What a bunch of Baloney for an ex-2x2 atheist to say about abnormally high within the 2x2 ministry. Did you take a poll yourself, Chuck?

Did you take a poll yourself, Chuck?I don't believe I made any comment about divorces and remarriages. So I'm unsure what your argument is. But as usual you fail to grasp the context around divorce in scripture vs today. For example, the average life expectancy was 35 at the time of Christ. The average life expectancy today is over 70. Is it any wonder the divorce rate is increasing. You struggle to put anything into context because you choose to remain ignorant of said times. Another thing, With your authoritative claim that you were once a worker and you studied Matthew 19. I suspect you know all about Shammai and Hillel.........? I can visualise you googling it now......... because you sure did do a worker study of Matthew 19........ As for the 2x2 ministry, the number of workers I know that have been involved in some sort of issue in the context of this discussion is abnormally high vs the amount of "wordly people" I have contact with on a day to day basis that have not been involved in these same activities. You are correct in your exclusivism argument Nathan, pity its in the wrong field!. The field of Misconduct within the Ministry that boasts to be the actual "Truth" should make any sane person run a mile, but when it is "normal" how could you see a problem?.

Yes, we have discussed Matthew 19 the shammai and Hellel sects in Jesus days, divorce and remarriage and Paul's writings on the suject on TMB in the past. The numbers of workers are having issues NOT high than normal. Have you taken a 2x2 poll around the world, Chuck? If you didn't then how would you know it higher than in the world. You are fibbing. But of course if you didn't know any better it is normal and becomes "Normal" very quickly. Oh so we dont need workers then.

Sometimes a walk on a clear, cool night makes the lights shine all the brighter. And the lights of the stars somehow make our problems trivial. It's good that we can only gaze idly I think. If we knew what was outside the reach of our gaze, we may spend many nights awake, staring at the dark ceiling. Yet again, if we knew what was within us, lurking beneath the surface of our superficial human cognition, I doubt we'd dare turn off the light. Very insightful. I know a few who have done just that. I was preoccupied with Berkeley today, which has sort of found a new life in the (untestable) Biocentrism Movement. In essence, no matter exists, rather mental ideas. We only observe and sense qualities of an idea and by doing so, bring only ideas into being. Or else, a thing doesn't exist unless it's perceived. (His loophole is that God "sees" everything, and thus a (for instance) tree still may exist in Panama without me observing it). I decided to apply my senses to perceiving the qualities of a strawberry milkshake, and after the predictable result, decided that even if it is right, the idea itself doesn't "matter" enough to accomplish anything useful.

I would probably have made an attempt to find some tangible manifestation of such a striking idea.

God and Jesus said that is NOT good! Jesus said that in Matthew 19:4-9 And He answered and said, âHave you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, âFor this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one fleshâ? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.â They said to Him, âWhy, then, did Moses command to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?â He said to them, âBecause of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.âPaul wrote in I Cor. 7:39 A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
~~ In my opinion read obey God's words A wife is bound as long as her husband LIVES! But you disobeyed and married someone while your husband or wife is still alive... I say get on your knees and ask God and Christ for forgiveness and to restore His Spirit in your heart... The workers must to stay out of it! Don't make any man's made rules so and so can't take parts or split the families up!
Point the parties involved go to God and Christ to receive peace and His forgiveness and be supportive to them, they have enough Satan's guilt to deal with.

So let me get this straight. If a husband or wife gets divorced they cannot marry again unless their previous spouse physically dies?.

So let me get this straight. If a husband or wife gets divorced they cannot marry again unless their previous spouse physically dies?. Yep, that is according to the Will of God and Christ from the beginning in the garden of Eden (Matthew 19), and the teaching of the apostle Paul, wrote in I Cor. 7:39 A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.
We have divorce 2x2s in our fellowship but both husbands and wives can live separately but they MUST remain unmarried as long their mates are still ALIVE. They can get back together if NOT, Once one of them has died then he or she is free to marry again, the mate must be in the same faith.

You must do everything according to the book. Just a matter of which book you pick.

I Know of the Westcoast remarriage and divorce stance, too! I was a worker from the Westcoast for 8 years so I know how they think.
These rules of do's and don't came from Howard M. Tharold S. Eldon T. and Ernest N. from Canada in 1970s. They TRIED to slow down the divorce and remarriage in our fellowship so they came up with not taken parts, split the families up and so on... They put these heavy burden on those who are involved and playing God.
I like the east coast stance better now...

You must do everything according to the book. Just a matter of which book you pick. "I need no book but Thine own word" Hymn 281

They can get back together if NOT, Once one of them has died then he or she is free to marry again, the mate must be in the same faith. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. - 1 John 3:14 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John3:14&version=NIVA woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 7:39 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians7:39&version=NIVOnly a ignorant fool would take and enforce Peter's word as physical death. How many lives have been wrecked from this foolishness.... I figured as much, the only thing you understood about Hellel and Shammai was the name.

This is utter bs. Spiritual abuse dished out by unlearned fools. This divorcing is a response to gaslighting. Religiosity 101. Makes me sick. It's thibgs like this that make me think sometimes your made up hell was a good thing, the trouble is fools pedaling this evil garbage would spontaneously combust so there would be no need for a lake of fire.
