I stumbled across this video. I would normally just pass it by but for some reason I decided to take a listen. And after all isn't that one aspect of a person of science to be willing to listen first then judge. www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_Y1wCLITu4

Thanks intelchips - I spoke at length and leisure with a large group of 'new age' people a number of years ago during their "Harmonic Convergence" celebrations. And one thing stood out prominently is that they listened and responded appropriately and very pleasantly. But very few of them had come to a common view of origins, while each of them were still on a naturalistic path akin to millions of years of natural selection. So the observers of those ancient texts mentioned by Greg, even the scholars among them, tend to resemble the dating of rocks - just guesses consistent with their individual Bibleless journey. And one of them accepted my gift of a Bible to check me out for himself –- I have little doubt that several of the group had a look with him. And let me say that some of them were very close to my own beliefs already. If the anti-Bible stuff was not so prominent in our society today, there would be many more who would include looking at the ancient text of the Bible, which is God's means to reach inside of human beings to help them get ANSWERS that they are seeking with all their hearts. I cannot convince anyone no matter what else I am able to do – that is not my job – it is God's job. From my own quest for answers, I have chosen Genesis as accurate history of our origins on the basis of the manuscript dating along with the internal dating of the Bible itself. A very good watch, intelchips – thanks again. You might enjoy a watch of very similar in this link -- John Lennox: The Question of Science and God - Part 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDjNv-ea56E John Lennox: The Question of Science and God - Part 2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr3ghb6JG6A Grats, on what day was rice created?

“Of all of the good stations you might have seen, -you chose one of the worst channels, -the History channel!“ Yup – I know that and it was on purpose MOST of the time. Most often for study purposes I have my computer connected to the net and cabled into the hotel TV screen, but THAT set up is used only while I want to remain AWAKE. So in most cases you are correct, I chose the worst channel on the hotel TV to help my mind shut down for sleep – Ancient Aliens however was a mistake because it was so 'perfect' in performance that it was very entertaining – not inducing a wink as long as it was playing on the TV – so well performed in fact that I think its actors all deserve Emmy awards. So if that show was playing on TV at the time I wanted to sleep, I had to change channels to watch such as as the stomach churns. Gratu, I must say you do seem to know well how to waste your time!

“Gratu, I must say you do seem to know well how to waste your time!” If it were not for readers of this board who were never 2x2s learning about 2x2ism from 2x2s and former 2x2s posting on this board, you would be right – any post I have ever made on this board would be a waste of MY time. So I think I am wasting intelchips, yourself and a mountain – so far. Grats you are not the only one wasting your time. I am beginning to think that I am wasting my time trying to get you to confess to your rice eating habits?

I enjoyed watching the ancient aliens theory refuted that is no longer linked here. Also the video of the Canadian care home with the 2x2 that tried to resist the government demand that it encourage and compel doctor assisted death of its patients. The video on gematria and the periodic table was good too. Thx Gratu

poor or false dating systems.... Wally when will you start using Facts to back up your reasoning? It's not enough to just say "Your wrong" and then move on. Give us an Hour lecture on why Nathan is wrong?

poor or false dating systems.... Wally when will you start using Facts to back up your reasoning? It's not enough to just say "Your wrong" and then move on. Give us an Hour lecture on why Nathan is wrong? i do and i don't. my prerogative. i feel no obligation to give a dissertation every time i state an opinion or fact i understand. i tend to keep it fairly short generally a paragraph or less. sometimes i supply links sometimes i don't. i definitely quote scripture though often. i've also been known(rarely) to copy and paste longer articles of others. but i tend to like short summaries best. getting to the point is always better i say. dating systems do NOT add up with the bibles(yes its not a history book) record of time. going by Jesus's lineage takes us back 6,000 years to Adam and Eve and stops. then the creation story accounts for 6 days of creation and 1 day of rest. You might(i doubt it) be able to convince me the day mentioned is a God day(1000 years = 1 day) and not a Human day(24 hrs)so i might consider the earth to be 13,000 years old. either way though humanity is only 6,000 years old. that said here is a link about why almost all dating systems are poor or false: biblicalscienceinstitute.com/origins/creation-101-radiometric-dating-and-the-age-of-the-earth/

Some people with Religious OCD find their compulsions and obsessions take over their lives. Like other types of OCD, the causes of religious OCD are not fully understood. Research suggests brains affected by OCD may have an imbalance of the neurotransmitter Serotonin.
Serotonin is the key hormone that stabilises our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness. This hormone impacts your entire body. It enables brain cells and other nervous system cells to communicate with each other. Serotonin also helps with sleeping, eating, and digestion.
You have to learn how to have happiness and peace in your life, sharing with others on a wide range of ideas and subjects. That is the best way for your body to produce Serotonin. I guess if you don't do this then it might be an idea to buy some Serotonin capsules at the Drug Store. That might reduce Religious OCD that drives everybody up the wall.

Wally I must admit you are the best Pantomath that I have ever known. I say that as a compliment and well aware that you can't compete with a Pantomath.

I'm invested in a small company that just went public a few weeks ago. The device uses magnetic fields to alter your state of mind, but not 'feel' God.. It really does work.

It would be good if you were able to get one to both Wally and Nathan as a trial. If it works on them, it would work on anyone.

They do alter your mood, but at $799 USD each, I'm in no position to send one to anyone, unless I win the lottery tomorrow night (Tuesday).

What is the Truth? We all know what the Truth is. Its the all of the Jewish myths the workers tell us and we repeat them over and over until we believe them.

In trying to rehabilitate this thread back to questions for gratu.
Matthew places Jesus' birth squarely during the reign of Herod the Great. Indeed, the central dramatic event driving Matthew's infancy narrative is Jesus' escape from Herod's slaughter of all the male children under two years of age in the town of Bethlehem (Matt 2:16). This story cannot be given even a hint of credibility. Such an unprecedented slaughter of innocent children would have left its mark for years on the local population, as well as on those who documented the events of the day. Yet, despite the unparalleled brutality represented by the heinous murder of so many innocent children, not a single other source, Christian or non-Christian, makes any mention of this event. There is no mention of it in any Roman documents from that time period, or in any Jewish sources, such as the Talmud and the Mishna, both of which contain commentaries on local events. It is also not mentioned by Josephus, the principle Jewish historian of that time period, who wrote in extensive detail about events in the region and who would have relished the opportunity to add to the catalogue of wrong doings by Herod. There is also no mention of a slaughter by Philo, a prominent who also wrote at that time. Josephus' silence on this event, given both his detailed discussion of so many other events that took place at this time and his particular antipathy towards Herod leaves Matthew's account questionable.
And so we find ourselves gathered around for bible study and we find the subject is Matthew's "Slaughter of the Innocents." We have all been taught the bible is the word of God therefor it can not be false. But think clearly for a moment if that idea is flawed. Please consider my rambling for a few minutes before you consign them to the round circular file. Matthew places Jesus' birth squarely during the reign of Herod the Great. We find Matthew's infancy narrative is Jesus' escape from Herod's slaughter of all the male children under two years of age in the town of Bethlehem (Matt 2:16). But here's the problem. This story cannot be given even a hint of credibility. Why not? Because such an unprecedented slaughter of innocent children would have left its mark for years on the local population, as well as on those who documented the events of the day. And yet, despite the unparalleled brutality represented by the heinous murder of so many innocent children, not a single other source, Christian or non-Christian, makes any mention of this event. There is no mention of it in any Roman documents from that time period, or in any Jewish sources, such as the Talmud and the Mishna, both of which contain commentaries on local events. It is also not mentioned by Josephus, the principle Jewish historian of that time period, who wrote in extensive detail about events in the region and who would have relished the opportunity to add to the catalogue of wrongdoings by Herod.
And then I'm not sure if this ties in here but I seem to think so. While thinking if the slaughter of the innocents was a literary device and not a fact what if Herod and all Jerusalem knew of the birth of the Messiah in Bethlehem (Matt2:3), and indeed Herod slaughtered the children of the whole town in the course of looking for Jesus (2:16), why is it that later in the ministry no one seems to know of Jesus' marvelous origins (13:54-55), and Herod's son recalls nothing about him (14:1-2)?
