* Happiness is a marvelous magnet to the human personality.
* Virtue shows quite as well in rags and patches as she does in purple and fine linen.
* From a little spark may burst a mighty flame.
* The highest love of all finds its fulfillment not in what it keeps, but in what it gives.
* The smallest good deed is better then the grandest intention.
* Peace is not a season, it is a way of life.
* Snowflakes are just one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together .
* If you always tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.
* Don’t spend your days stringing and tuning your instrument … start making music.
* Every time we encourage someone, we give them a transfusion of courage.
* People are like stained glass windows; they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.
* What we need is not new light, but new sight; not new paths, but new strength to walk in the old ones; not new duties but new wisdom from on High to fulfill those that are plain before us.
* Write on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.
* Never fear shadows. They simply mean there’s a light shining somewhere nearby.
* Happy is the one who has learned to hold the things of this world with a loose grip.
* Flowers leave their fragrance on the hand that bestows them.
* So often in my life… an unexpected burst of golden sunshine has exploded through a black cloud, sending inspiring shafts of warm, beautiful sunshine into my life.

Attitude Determines Altitude.
Unlike some things in life, we can choose our outlook. Sometimes we just need a reminder that happiness can often simply be a result of choosing attitudes:
"I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.
Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.
Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.
Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it
with rich new tidbits of knowledge.
Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because God has provided shelter for my mind, body, and soul.
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!"

The four characteristics of humanism are curiosity, a free mind, belief in good taste, and belief in the human race.

For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.

Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They're absolutely free and worth a fortune. Sam Walton

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. Marcus Aurelius.

Conceit is an odd disease: it makes everybody sick but the one who has it!
When a man starts throwing dirt, you may be sure he is losing ground.
Conscience is the thing that hurts when everything else feels good.
We are either a thermometer or a thermostat. One adjusts itself to the surrounding conditions, the
other controls them.
Knocks will not hurt you unless you do the knocking.
Habits are first cobwebs, then cables.
If God cannot draw us, He is very apt to withdraw from us.
We either have to pay the price or the penalty.
Those who jump at conclusions have no safe place to land.
Every test weakens a dead tree but it strengthens a living one.
Jesus teaches us to pray by leading us through experiences that make us feel our need.
Giving in makes us right with God. Fitting in keeps us right.
What we give up for Christ's sake is victory. What we keep back is defeat.
Coming together is the beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. ~ ~ ~

When I hit the pillow at night I like to put the worries of the day out of my mind and dwell on good thoughts. That helps you have a good nights sleep, which is vital for good health. I'm guessing that Kefir and Guinness also help you sleep? Not for long, if it really helps at all.

When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege to be free. Charles Evans Hughes The tribalism bred into our genetic makeup in the Serengeti works against this freedom. Our ancestors had to be team players to survive.
