Thanks Wally, but I don't call safety a "prison,." Not when safety means I can avoid the "prison" called the grave.
But as I said, -you go right ahead if you want. If you want to take yourself out of the gene pool go ahead. It might just be for the rest of humanity. If Wally's stupidity leads to an early death on his belly gasping for air that's his choice. Sadly he could influence others to share his fate. ah back to demonizing again....elder i don't advocate for anyone to do anything i do except for saying to accept Christ in their lives i just say what i am going to do...censor thug

actually STR left on her own... ** According to her messages to me it was the atheists, she didn't want them to keep on attacking her, her posts and her Faith. She was getting tired of it. She left because she could not handle the truth. Once she was wrapped up in your nonsense she could not handle the error of her ways being pointed out to her.

I think peoples world view tends to make them feel safe. Thus, when someone challenges their world view it triggers something in their lizard brain making them want to lash out.

Why would a God, any god remain hidden? What possible good could remining hidden manifest for a god? As I said earlier the Belief's one holds as their world view makes them feel safe. If one must believe in a God to feel safe many do. But it doesn't really take much courage to face up to truth. I didn't really know STR so hard to say if she could face up to truth or not.

Isn't it you desire (and other Christians also) to be with God in heaven as soon as possible? Christianity is full of huge contradictions which are gotten around by believers by being open to believing anything, no matter how absurd. In fact the more open the believer is to believing the absurd, the greater their faith is likely to be and the less chance there is of inconvenient things such as truth and contradictions getting in the way. Despite claiming a strong desire to be with Jesus and to partake of the great riches which God has supposedly laid up for them in heaven, believers are rarely in any hurry to get there. Despite the bible (and believers in the bible) claiming that if we see God we will end up dead, Abraham saw God and lived to the ripe old age of 175. Despite the claims of believers that God promised us 3 score years and 10, the average life expectancy for a man in the Central African Republic (a 90% Christian country) is barely 50. There are religious beliefs and there are truths and rarely the twain shall meet. That’s why believers need faith. And preferably huge lashings of it. Faith is the ingredient that enables the believer to believe things that they otherwise wouldn’t, to overlook huge contradictions and to see things that aren’t there. Matt10

But then I despair when I hear way too many still caught up in denial of reality and continue to try to find hope in stories which only makes them feel good.
I have tried to work through to some understanding as to why people do this but I still haven't gotten very far.

My team is Dundee United Football Club, but for the past five years I think watching paint drying has been far more exciting.

God and Christ are NOT hidden from us, 2000 yrs ago, they revealed to John and the Christians where they lived= The Bright and Morning Star/the planet Venus. To show us they are the God of the living.... Abraham, and all of the Old and New Test. Believers souls are with God and Christ in heaven. The believers/souls are waiting for God to impart them with the new resurrection bodies like the one Jesus has after he was raised from the dead. The highest ranking in the U.S. government KNOW Jesus is from Venus.

Well, Ram... You don't have the top secret clearance so, you wouldn't KNOW Jesus is from Venus planet. But you can read from the book of Revelation and find out! Rev. 22:16.

Faith can only take you so far. Much better to be armed with truth. Faith can fail, prayer fall on deaf ears and your God can let you down. But truth stands up to scrutiny. In the great battle between beliefs and truth, truth will win out in the end. Truth is the torch that gleams through the fog without dispelling it. (Claude Adrien Helvétius) Matt10 It is encouraging when I see people like Claude Adrien Helvétius and others who at least were able to begin to think in terms of reality instead of the supernatural.
But then I despair when I hear way too many still caught up in denial of reality and continue to try to find hope in stories which only makes them feel good.
I have tried to work through to some understanding as to why people do this but I still haven't gotten very far.I think the best way to approach this is to reflect upon oneself. The former believer has an insight into belief that those who never believed cannot possibly have. (There’s a reason why poachers make good game keepers.) Exploring why you believed in the absurd, why you were susceptible to believing the absurd and why you continued to believe in the absurd in spite of all the evidence to the contrary may help aid your understanding. I still wake up in the night screaming at the thought of some of the stuff I was capable of believing. But of course this may not answer all your questions. There appears to me to be various categories of believers which might be broadly outlined as follows. There are those who are capable of having their minds changed when presented with the evidence which calls into question their beliefs. (I suspect most of the exes here fall into this category) There are those who are capable of having their minds changed when presented with the evidence which calls into question their beliefs but who, due to religious conditioning, will refuse to look at it. (I suspect many 2x2s who aren’t found on TMB are in this category.) There are those who are capable of having their minds changed when presented with the evidence which calls into question their beliefs but who, due to religious conditioning, will misinterpret the evidence to make it fit with their beliefs or will find reasons to dismiss it. (I suspect some of us exes may have been in this category at one point) And then there are the religious fundamentalists who when presented with evidence which calls into question their beliefs will remain unflinching. These are the Kurt Wises of this world. The William Irvine’s. The religious fanatics. The zealots. There is much more than religious conditioning going on here. These are not people you are likely to encounter on a journey in a quest for truth. Among this group you are likely to also find conspiracy theorists, political ideologists/extremists and other peculiar types while you may also find people of Ulster/ Scots ancestry over represented. Why this should be I have not yet figured out but it has been suggested that a combination of the Puritanism of their forefathers and a settler mentality may have something to do with it. Of course I am merely a layman when it comes to this and I merely present this as my own layperson’s understanding. Matt10

No human being has seen God the Father, they ONLY heard His voice speaking from heaven. Jesus said to the fallen humans sinners Ye MUST BE BORN AGAIN! to enter the kingdom of God and to be in God Elohim's presence. Christ imparts His Spirit in us believers so, we can be in God the Father's presence in heaven.
