Anyone know of any meetings in the Pennsylvania area and how one could contact anyone in/familiar with the meetings there?
PMs welcome.
Thanks,

I'm curious too. Not that I would be attending. It's just that our local convention grounds were sold off and a new road was put through. Might have been eminent domain. At least I think that was what happened. Newry?
My dad quit professing and those he met with have long since passed away.

My son is meeting with his employer, and his family will be meeting in a typical house in Mt Bethel soon.

Pennsylvania is a huge state. 46,000 square miles. What area are you talking about?

Mt Bethel is about 100 miles from NYC.
I was razzing around with the word idea of meetings. My son doesn't attend the fellowing meetings of the 2x2. I'm sure there are some in Pennsylvania. I don't think the state has had a lot of the friends or workers historically. Could be wrong.

Use to be several meetings in Philadelphia alone when I was there in the '50's with one of of the convention close to Philly.
But I wouldn't have any idea now.

It's been years and I may be wrong, but the Newry/East Freedom area was where my family went to convention when I was growing up. I heard it was taken by eminent domain quite awhile back to put in roads. Meetings were held at my grandma's house in Westmoreland County. A couple from Indiana County attended along with my dad and grandma. Very small meeting. I remember only a few times that there were any workers present. I know there was a meeting in Cambria County, but the folks there passed away. professing.proboards.com/thread/29595/grave-newry-convention-grounds-owner

What's happening at Newry? Leaf raking scheduled for 11/21. Bring a bag lunch if you plan to stick around. With regards to the highway that was built years ago, it had no real impact on the convention grounds.

Yes still convention at Newry, same place for years. Third generation owners. Also convention in east part of state in Bucks county. Same place since 1950 with new owners several years ago. Both good sized conventions. Sunday meetings in various areas across the state. Some Isolated county areas where there were once meetings might not have them now, but other areas may have quite a few friends. Historically there’s been quite a few friends in PA. There was a statement on one of the boards quite few years ago that said “there are few friends and workers in PA now”. This statement was not correct. It seemed to be written by someone from NW PA who had had professing relatives in the distant past, and they may have been referring to a local area they were from, but when they wrote it, they obviously didn’t have current information.

From the common understanding of the phrase " quite a few", I doubt there are now, or ever were "quite a few" friends in PA. The PA population is 12.7 million people. I suspect any number rising to the number of "quite a few" would be more than all the 2x2 in the world. "quite a few": An indefinite and somewhat large number
