New Australian "pre-crime" bill allows arrests for online "conspiracies"
This group of people is supposedly made up of those who refuse to comply with the lockdown rules (such as the use of a face mask), those who go online to call for public protests to revoke these measures, and even those who are in charge of propagating "conspiracy theories" about the virus on social media.

Americans are renowned for having a poor grasp of geography. and some folks can't grasp metaphors... Wally, Are you sure that you "grasp metaphors?"
Definition of metaphor
1: a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them

Nor did you use a simile,
Definition of : simile, a figure of speech comparing two unlike things that is often introduced by like or as (as in cheeks like roses)
You posted about Australia and then called it a "sad sad little country....." That was not the use of a figure of speech.

I don't follow your "profile," -I follow the subject of thread. It isn't my fault that you keep on posting such false information!

Is that little gem from Fox news or some other right wing source? I'm having trouble identifying the correct bill given how far fetched the post is. However, I think it's the Vic bill which has nothing to do with conspiracy theories by the by. It aims to allow further emergency powers for detaining persons at risk of violating a quarantine. Under the current restrictions persons with Covid-19 or close contacts of someone with Covid-19 must isolate. I'd guess homeless Covid-19 contacts or positives are most at risk of being detained, while keyboard warriors can breath easy.

Then please explain exactly HOW your statement that "Australia" is a "sad sad little country....." fits into being a '"metaphor."
It is just a outright statement of your "judgement" concerning "Australia," -nothing at all to do with being a "figure of speech."

Wally, I am aware that your higher level of ability to think and reason about a complicated subject makes it difficult for you to come down to my own lower level of ability to understand what you are talking about.
But please try. I don't want to have to try to figure out what you meant on my own.
I get severe headaches when I do that and then I can't sleep well and then I get up really crabby and my family deserves better than me being crabby all the time.
