I now begin to understand how a healthy mind, maintains a healthy body. Probably became interested in this topic since one of my Granddaughters became a Phycologist. We are so proud of her, she now is a Clinical Consultant/Behaviour Support Practitioner, doing work to develop programs for those who have brain trauma. Gaining control over your mind is a power skill that elevates your self-esteem. Every day is filled with many opportunities to let negative thinking rule your life and destroy your happiness. Taking control of your thoughts is a skill you must develop if you want a happy life. Recently my Granddaughter brought my attention to an article prepared by an organisation she spent time with during her training. Well worth a read. A good article Redback. Another thing is entering the third space, which is the bridge between work, and home life. The time of reconciling the body, soul and mind, and transitioning into relaxing at home, and enjoying social intercourse with family and friends. Sometimes it can be simply time spent patting the dog, or listening to music on the way home. Dr Adam Fraser, in your neck of the woods is big on this. He was Tiger Woods sports psychologist when he was at the top of his game. Check him out. I've met him, actually had dinner with him in Sydney one night. He's a helluva good bloke.

I don’t shy away regarding the importance . I have mental health issues , so what . I am different and ok with that .
However , I have said I am tough , rough , capable of kicking ass , walk ya outside we’re it one for one . If it was in regards to my family/danger would protect my family at whatever cost . From my mom to my great granddaughter . I make the decisions in this family .
But I am human and stumbling around . I have always maintained I bowed to only one person , my beautiful dad . But I cannot say that anymore . I am bowed down by the universe . Each day seems like a nightmare . I shut their phones off . I can no longer hear her voice . I have never had pain like this Forever gone . I am shattered , into pieces . I am watched so no worries . But I cannot believe this happened . Start your day with how are U As the sunset is coming give thanks to whatever you believe . Whisper I love you and be grateful for Everything we were given I ✌️ out I know not of my tomorrow . We don’t have a guarantee

World Suicide Prevention Day highlights need for ongoing conversation and supports Alanna Smith 1 hour ago Mara Grunau looking at her cell phone: Mara Grunau, executive director, Centre for Suicide Prevention, poses for a photo at their offices in Calgary on Wednesday November 21, 2018. © Provided by Calgary Herald Mara Grunau, executive director, Centre for Suicide Prevention, poses for a photo at their offices in Calgary on Wednesday November 21, 2018. Calls to the Calgary Distress Centre’s crisis line reached an all-time high in August as the COVID-19 pandemic amplifies concerns about mental-health struggles and suicide.
Many organizations and individuals across the country took to social media on World Suicide Prevention Day on Thursday to share personal stories and messages of hope for those struggling during this unprecedented time.
Mara Grunau, executive director for the Centre for Suicide Prevention , said now, more than ever, people are having open conversations about the difficult topic.
“Suicide is real but we can talk about it, and if we can talk about it and build a trusting relationship with people around us, then we’re in a position to offer help,” said Grunau.

We are all vulnerable to the "Black Dog". Nobody is immune even if they think they are. Help is available the main thing is to reach out for it.
1chinesewhispers you are a bright, intelligent, honest Lady. Do stay strong for your Mom's sake, she needs you. I am sure everyone on TMB is "Rooting for You".

I became my son-in-laws guardian in court . It has been laid on my heart . I have whispered to the universe . I am not ready to make that call . It’s been over 3 weeks . I do have to travel back for cleaning packing , shutting down . Sale of electronics . Estate . So again I lean on my ex husband . He brings the calm to me . He is guiding I am following . Best divorce ever !!!!!!!!!!!! We never brought the kids to our drama . We remained best friends how glorious it is . We speak or text daily . I am so grateful for him . Plus those on here .

Prags, I watched that video you posted. Thanks for that. Every young Father should watch it. Wish I had of seen it 50 years ago. I failed to find that third space and that was detrimental to my Wife and Family. The sad thing is you can't go back and fix it, you have to live with the conviction of your mistakes

Yeah it's good aye. I am fortunate to have a wonderful wife who seemed to have a sixth sense about raising our children. I was working long hours, and often away. Fortunately we live by the beach, and enjoy a micro-climate, so we did employ the "third space", but without actually putting a label on it. And I give credit to my wife, plus will take some for listening to her!
Just recently our kids thanked us for a wonderful upbringing, and they have also seen the Adam Fraser video, so when it's their turn, they will know, hopefully.
Don't beat yourself up Redback, 50 years ago it was a different culture, and they were different times.

I was fortunate also Prags had a wonderful Wife who was an excellent Mother. She excelled at rearing our four, her skills as a Nurse were evident. But they all still put up with me after almost 60 years of marriage, so that is something to be thankful for.

I know from personal communication with you, times are not easy For you with yr wife’s bad health but you love and care for her immensely.

I'm not sure where you are in Oz, but if you're anywhere near where I next visit, I think we should meet for a quiet cold one somewhere.
Until Covid I was in Oz quite a bit, but having to make do with Zoom right now, but I really do need to be back in Melbourne and Sydney as soon as the bubble is created.

The third space is a nice idea but illusory in the Covid working from home with kids world. There's nothing quite like a naked toddler screaming to have their butt wiped mid video call for teaching a person how to jump from one task to another! The difficulty is of course finding the balance between doing nothing well or burning the candle at both ends.

Thanks so much for the offer Prags, never knock back an invitation to share a cold one with a Friend. We do live a long way from Sydney, Northern NSW, near the musical Capital of Australia. There will not be a Festival in 2021 because of Covid, we may have to put that on hold until 2022, good time to come to this part of the World during the Festival. Bit of a mad house, but a lot of fun.

My pleasure 1chinesewhispers, trust it brings you some comfort. Lovely words.
[Verse 1] I pray you'll be my eyes And watch her where she goes And help her to be wise Help me to let go
[Chorus] Every mother's prayer Every child knows Lead her to a place Guide her with your grace To a place where she'll be safe
[Verse 2] I pray she finds your light And holds it in her heart As darkness falls each night Remind her where you are
[Chorus]
[Verse 3] Lead her to a place Guide her with your grace To a place where she'll be safe

Here is another one that brought my Wife and I comfort when we lost our oldest Grandson in a tragic accident some years ago. Played at his funeral, still brings a tear to the eye. To Where You Are. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIAQCiMIEEQ

I am dying for the border to open . My home down in Texas, that is my zen . I don’t have to talk with humans expect my bestie and hubby . I will stay at my house for quarantine about 5 days . Just to make sure I am not bringing COVID19 to them . As he only has one lung . But it brings so much peace . I did the same with my Dad’s passing . Nature , sun , silence , looking at nature and just peaceful quiet , yoga outside . I am taking some of my daughter’s ashes to fly free ! Into the large pond . Truly free . She doesn’t have to struggle anymore . We truly don’t talk for a few days when I arrive . They give me space and after 3-4 days Chris (my bestie’s husband) says the lines on my face disappear . My zen I am coming . Sounds so much better than psych ward .
