Where is the logic??
the Faith Mission - “ Go and join the churches of your choice”.
But here we have Nathan adamant that the Faith Mission is part of the true way from shores of Galilee, down down down, down from the mountains ( from waldesians ) through to William Irvine.
If it was part of that great line of the only 2x2 true way, Faith Mission would not of said “ Go and join the churches of your choice”!”
It defies logic & simply does not make sense.
William Irvine started the group of people labelled the 2x2’s. Sure he adopted some of their practices & vocab but he was a break away and started his own group. Nothing unusual about that. Many religious groups if not most, start that way.
I personally dont have a problem with the William Irvine start but ...be honest about it. ( I acknowledge, the present generation are showing some integrity).

Just part of the crazy experiment started by William Irvine. Threw in a few more rules of their own, and set out to cause even more confusion. It took 100 years for people to realise that they had been conned.

It's my view that the breakaway was prompted by Irvine seeing all those donations heading back to Scotland. By starting his own all the donations came his way. I have read in the history of FM that there was some discussion about money. Furthermore Irvine was continuing to accept his stipend from FM after he had started his own. That's the morals of the man. And so it remains, yesterday today and forever. Same morals. Same standards. All set by Irvine.

It's my point My point is that your point is pointless. Anyone can argue on anything, that "it's not in the bible" just because it's not recorded, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. So to use that argument against Jesus having a college... it's not recorded in the way you are referring to, but he was considered a teacher. Take it how you will. Unless you're really talking about a collage, which is how you spelled it. In that case, his artistic talents are not recorded either, except for the time he stooped down and drew in sand.

You are so right Curly, it is all about money. 2x2's have always been slack in regard to control of funds. Nobody knows how it is spent and by whom. Main stream Churches have proper bookkeeping and Ministers receive a set stipend. They are not able to put their fingers in the till.
And of course smart Overseers have been able to squirrel away large amounts for their own purposes, i.e. Christian Conventions of Victoria Charity. Then they pretend that they are destitute. Certainly not ethical in this day and age.

I hope someone framed it. It would be worth a mint now.

Redback said) We should always be guided by common sense and common decency. Basic human decency is being polite, courteous, civil, thoughtful, and using tact and diplomacy when with others, thus treating them as you wish to be treated.
