The Faith Mission, joined by William Irvine in 1895, still exists. Here is the website: faithmission.orgThey are still passionate about evangelism, Bible training and conventions. Much of the vocabulary of the Two-by-twos was inherited from The Faith Mission - workers, fields, gospel meetings, conventions, even 'resting' for workers who were having a break.

Pity the 2x2's missed out on the bible training part. *** Back in 1886-1900s the Faith Mission didnt need have or need Bible training seminary school like today because they went to preach TWO and TWO like Jesus sent out his 12 and 70s. It was an apprentice training system as apostles/workers in service training 24/7 was their schooling to be with different older, wiser as their teacher/mentors. The Faith Mission kind of Jesus 2x2 apostolic/workers apostolic ministry was scripture and in line with what peopke read in the Bible and many were attracted by Christians who were disappointed with their churches... Many later became 2x2 friends and workers through William Irvine Faith mission. The 2x2 workers copied the Faith Mission 2x2 apostolic ministry and they add their own Sunday morning worship meetings and baptism for their converts.

Do you know of any negative issues they have had over the years that are similar to the 2x2's I know nothing about the organisation apart from what is online. They did have a fair few regulations back in the late 1800s - workers who got married had to leave the ministry initially, and they had a kind of uniform code in the very early days.

It was simply an evangelistic ministry to the unchurched, who when converted were sent back to local churches. The Faith Mission was considered a ministry better suited to young, single people before they married and had families. Where is your evidence of "older, wiser teacher/mentor" model in the Faith Mission?

I have the Faith Mission early group statement of Faith and they sent out their preachers Two and Two; married and unmarried workers. Have you read the Faith Mission early days how their workers operate back in 1886-98?

Yes, I have read the Faith Mission early days of how their workers operated in those times. In fact, I was reading it again last night. Initially they didn't allow marriage, considering the ministry being mostly suited to the single and young. Then superintendents were able to marry. They continued to evolve in their processes and system, leading to more formal Bible training. Again, where is your evidence for younger/older pairing model? If you're able to cite a portion of their statement to this effect I would be happy to accept that you are correct.

I didn't know God had a Bible collage? no mention if it in the Bible. And yet the apostles and disciples spent 3 years of Scripture learning and training from Jesus himself. There are numerous mentions of the times Jesus took his disciples aside to teach them.

And by whom is this training from? A proper Bible College. Speak, the obvious answer is - "from their fellow man" That's all they've got, after all. Too bad the different Christian sects can't agree on what that pie in the sky proper Bible College is. eh? The Catholic's have certainly gotten more than their share of kicks from others, - although I personally think they have the most biblically consistent philosophy of them all, end to end. Unfortunately I've recently had to question the Lutheran's teaching, which I formerly had little knowledge or reason to question, since my fellow astronomical buddy got excommunicated from the Lutheran church. "Jim" (let's call him) expressed that he didn't believe in the 7 days (24hr/per) creation. As Jim described it to me, after a couple of weeks following this discussion with his pastor (that title being blasphemous in any case) in his sincerest sonorous voice said 'Jim, if you're going to take that stand, you are on a slippery slope, questioning the word of God in the Holy Bible, and so if you hold to this belief, we cannot have fellowship with you any more.' And so, Jim was out. btw, have the Christian colleges come to any consensus on this? What's your opinion redback? 24hr days, 1000yr days, other? Which college teaching do you hold to?

News flash Jesus is not dead.So the disciples had 3 years of full-time theological training from the best teacher available at the time. And you somehow thinks this equates to the current ministry practice how?? Your response is ingenuous, to say the least. Where is the portion of the Faith Mission Statement you referred to? Read the book of The Apostles' Doctrine and Fellowship by Cornelius Jaenen. Read the page about the Faith Mission, there you read the Faith Mission apostolic New Testament model ministry Matthew 10. going Two and Two, and preaching Faith line...
According to John Long Journal.
Study Matthew 10: William Irvine/Faith Mission preacher, Fred Hughes/Faith Mission preacher and John Long. Going in Faith Lines. John Long converted to preach the Faith lines in 1898.
William Irvine was a Faith Mission preacher; Fred Hughes was also a Faith Mission preacher younger worker to William Irvine. John Long became a Faith Mission member from 1898-1914. Both of these men had been William Irvine younger companions... When John Long became a 2x2 preacher William Irvine sent younger men for him to train/mentors as workers from 1900s-1907.
