I would like to ask some questions to everyone on this board?
First let me quote Psalm 91:1 (KJV):
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
First, Moses states dwelling in "the" secret place ... not "a" secret place.
Therefore, there must be a specific secret place.
Next, it says " ...the secret place of the most "High" ..." and the first letter if the word high is capitalized.
Then, he ends by saying they shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The first letter of the word almighty is capitalized.
Going backwards now ...
Am I correct to assume Moses meant by "Almighty" the one and only GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our only GOD in heaven?
Secondly then who did Moses mean by the most "High?" Is the most "High" Jesus Christ? (even though Psalms is an Old Testament book). Are the most High and the Almighty two separate people or the same person? Are they both GOD?
To the beginning of Ps 91:1 now ... Where is the secret place?
I recall, Jesus said in Matt 6:6, figuratively," ... thou when thou prayest go into your closet, and when thou hast shut the door, (making it quiet, peaceful, shut out the world), to pray to thy Father which is in secret ..."
Could this be the secret place? The quiet place where we go to be alone with our Father and with Jesus in prayer?
Being "in the shadow of the Almighty" ... When GOD hid moses in the cleft of a rock (Exodus 33:22), so that Moses could not see GOD'S face while his glory passed by, wasn't Moses essentially under the shadow of GOD when GOD passed by him?
I mean, essentially, isn't "under the shadow of the Almighty" similiar to where Moses was when GOD passed by him?
My concordance says the word "shadow" has often the rare meaning of a shelter, and that in many cases the American Revision changes the meaning of the word shadow to shade.
I think it's interesting to note other places in the Bible that also refer to being in the secret place and under the shadow of GOD.
"... The secret things belong unto the Lord our GOD: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law ..." - Deuteronomy 29:29
" ... I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the GOD of Israel ..."
" ... Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things ..." Hebrews 8:5
" ... Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning ..." James 1:17
" ... They that dwell under his shadow shall return ..." Hosea 14:7
" ... " ... Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen ..." Lamentations 4:20
I truly would like to know if I am on the right track as to the location of "the secret place," he connotation of "the shadow of the Almighty," and whether or not the most High and the Almighty are separate entities or the same person.

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Where is your secret place and how do you get there and what prevents you? I don’t find it easy to do that verse because I have a husband that demands a lot of care and is also very judgmental and so the secret place for me is when I am all alone, which is rare. Jesus understands.

If the heart of God is in you in your heart then her answer is right. “But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” – Jeremiah 17:10
“…would not God have discovered, since He knows the secrets of the heart?” – Psalm 44:21
“Look deep into my heart, God, and find out everything I am thinking.” – Psalm 139:23(Virgs)

Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Psalm 18:11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. Some people think hiding is only for bad people. However God and great chess players hide too... Their next moves are hidden and they hide their next moves from their opponent. Hide me in your holiness... A pretty song youtu.be/ZKgiC8A6ThU

I think the question can only be answered from the standpoint of a man, from the standpoint of a human being since we are NOT God. That said, we can say that God lives in our hearts as we perceive him to be someone who transcends our own power and faculty of reason and knowledge to will and to do.

hiya
The secret place of the most high. Is a secret place. It is designed as secret for a reason. So the we and our Lord can have communion together. The Almighty is the one true God, creator of heaven and earth and has many other names. Dwelling in the shadow of his wings is a place of covenant protection we have as his children. the location of the secret place is where you alone can find him where he may be found. In your closet, on a mountain by a river, anywhere where the two of you are able to meet in peace and quiet, you with your surrendered open heart. He wants more than anything to have a people who will spend the time to hear from him and abide in his presence. I hope you are able to find that place. His word is the lamp to our feet and light to our path. His spirit is the one that guides you into all truth.

I've learned from a sister worker that the secret place is your heart, the man looks upon your outward appearance but GOD looks at your heart, and that if we let the Most High into out heart and let the Holy spirit dwell in us we will then abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I believe this is similiar to Speaks' reply to this question. Thanks so much for taking the time to reflect upon my question ... I definitely like your thoughts too and yours are similar to mine. I do believe that Speak and the sister worker are correct.
