I hear that the convention grounds are for sale. Anyone interested? I wonder if Utah has enough friends to fill up a convention grounds anymore? What happened. Did LDS displace them? I used to have cousins there. Now moved to Idaho and North Carolina last I heard. My boss at Sugar Bowl used to run ski resorts in Utah. He wasn't LDS. He was more secular than religious, perhaps. He said if you had anything to do with money, if you were in business, you would be stalked by the LDS to make sure you were an honest contributer and player in the LDS pyramid and economy.

Bit of disruption when the owner of the land where the Convention ground is, decides to sell. Had an Uncle that did that once, and even although he allowed it to be shifted to another farm he owned many were not happy about it.
To prevent that happening again an area for the Convention ground was subdivided and made seperate, and put in Church Trust ownership. That means that if the farm gets sold the Convention ground still remains. Very hard to make plans that are not affected by the march of time. It is an ever-changing scene. Know how devastated we were when the beautiful Dandenong was acquired by the Government and got demolished for a Freeway. No way to treat Holy ground.

Know how devastated we were when the beautiful Dandenong was acquired by the Government and got demolished for a Freeway. No way to treat Holy ground. Yep Remember that well, Jan 1974 straight after con finished we started pulling down ready for transport to Drouin. Apart from the freeway going across part of the grounds the rest was subdivided into housing lots. We used to drive around there to try and work out where the back boundary was, identified by a very high fence behind what was the womens sleeping area.

It was sad Jay. You can sort of work out the boundaries on Google Earth view. Some of the wonderful pines and the cypresses beside the Dining shed are still there. On the edge of the freeway still some of the pines that were down each side of the driveway where we used to walk. Many romances started in that driveway. We loved that place it was a piece of Heaven on Earth.
Heaven on Earth
Micah Stampley
Heaven, heaven on earth! Oh, oh, oh, oh! Heaven, heaven on earth! The spirit of the lord is upon me His anointing is empowering The kingdom of the lord is within me And he's calling me to the heavenlies To be seated in heavenly places
Just like heaven Just like heaven on earth! To be walking in his favor and grace is Just like heaven Just like heaven on earth!
Oh, oh, oh, oh! Heaven, heaven on earth! Oh, oh, oh, oh! Heaven!
Marching in the spirit of unity To our community show his ability The will of the lord for his children Is to demonstrate, perpetuate To be seated in heavenly places
Just like heaven Just like heaven on earth! To be walking in his favor and grace is Just like heaven Just like heaven on earth!
Oh, oh, oh, oh! Heaven on earth! Oh, oh, oh, oh! Heaven on…

Could it be they're simply two different threads? Nope. Gills last post about it being for sales is in the original one. I suspect this is post professing.proboards.com/post/693632 is what caused the deletion. It's just my guess. Everything on the web is archived all the time. The internet gods keeps track of everything and you can go back and check versions.

looks like overkill to me.... We pay nothing, so we have no say on these decisions. It could be a mistake & not censorship.

I may be missing something, but until I know what it is, I'm comfortable asserting that they are two separate threads. Evidence:
2. "Riverton UT convention grounds" was started in May 2016, judging by the oldest post 3. "Riverton UT" was started today, by Gill 4. Today, Gill posted in both threads; first in "Riverton UT convention grounds" - "These grounds are for sale. " 5. Then he started the new thread, "Riverton UT", with the post "I hear that the convention grounds are for sale. Anyone interested? I wonder if Utah has enough friends to fill up a convention grounds anymore? " 6. Both threads have attracted additional posts throughout the course of the day

i think you figured it out. Not sure why the old post link did not work before. All is good now. It looks like original creator of the first thread "Riverton UT convention grounds" must have self deleted their account. edit ____________ I see my link should have been professing.proboards.com/post/693632/thread the "/thread" part was missing.

I hear that the convention grounds are for sale. Anyone interested? I wonder if Utah has enough friends to fill up a convention grounds anymore? Has it been listed for the public, or is being offered to the friends to keep it going? Usually when convention grounds are sold, the workers try to get other professing families to buy up, unless it's days are up.

Many happy memories of Dandenong that will never ever leave us. The only thing I never liked were the hay mattresses, with the heat I used to break out in a rash. And I was able to get to go and have a shower in the Brother's Workers bathroom. The only condition was that I could only use it if nobody was there.

If your surname was Pond, would you name your daughter Lily? My wife used to work in the university library with a lady named Lily, who coincidently was married to Tom Pond.

Are there many saints in Utah? I know there are four or five meetings in the Salt Lake City area. And I know there is special meeting in SW Utah in Saint George -- Las Vegas friends frequently go there for the special meetings. Otherwise, I don't know that there are any other meeting places in the state. Most of the state is very sparsely populated.

Are there many saints in Utah? “S” is for “Saints” in LDS The church president recently has advised that the term "Mormon" is not appropriately the name of the church. It is officially the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints".
