The problem is restrooms. If they could hold a brief meeting outside and allow only one inside, they could have them in convention parking areas. The issue is the restroom. Have a marked line where people stand waiting to use the bathroom. If they could only purchase Lysol and wipes.

Use natural cover. Just make sure it is an open area with plenty of trees.
The open area for the meeting could have painted crosses on the ground, so as people comply with social distancing. This is being done in our shops and supermarkets.
Would put more meaning into the words, "Take up thy cross, and follow me".

Someone on facebook said something I agree with. We shouldn't call it social distancing, but physical distancing. We should be trying to socialize as much as possible in new and different ways. I have a support group meeting for the atheists group I am part of. We are doing it through Google hangouts. We shall see how it works.

Some have been complaining about TMB being an Atheist hangout. I learned from The Clergy Project there are thousands of preachers who are closet atheists. That's a difficult place to be. We have examples here on TMB of atheists who were once friends and workers. I don't think I would have become an atheist but for once being a 2x2. I suspect the friends take the bible more seriously than most other sects, but I could be wrong about that. JMT

Withdrawals happening everywhere and people are desperately trying to work out how to get their fix. If you need the meetings to remember Christ please seek professional help.

Most of the 2x2 I knew are literalist. I suppose in the bible days most were not literalist, as most didn't have or read lit.

We were encouraged to be literalist. We were not to think for ourselves. When you get firmly in that state of mind, commonsense goes out the window.
It is hard to get away from that dedicated, restricted way of thinking especially if you are born into it, and not given the opportunity to explore other options.
I spent 27 years as a 2x2, then 12 years in confusion, which is half of my lifetime to date. Then a business deal brought us in touch with a wonderful couple who were able to turn our lives around. The last 40 years have been a wonderful experience, we love life more, we enjoy life more, we relate to all people more. Our God is all the wonderful things that nature provides for us to enjoy, and share with others.
If only people could see the bigger picture, that life is meant to be enjoyed, not sacrificed. They would give away literal thinking, and allow common sense to control their lives. There is a whole new World out there waiting to be found.

Yes Speak, nothing better than sitting under a coolabah tree, with a glass of cold coolabah, on an Australian summers day.

Ha that would be boring if it were true! The meeting went really well last night. Had some new members that are just new atheists and struggling with how to deal with their theist relatives now. Love technology that is going to keep us all connecting. We don't need social distancing we need physical distancing. Maybe we should call it that instead.

They have it the hardest because they feel the guilt of spreading it. A couple of them are now working with the Clergy Project to help other pastors that are new to the group.

I tend to agree with you. I had never heard of young earthers until I met my birth family. Then I saw some on here that believed in a young earth too. I don't ever remember any of the friends believing in that when I was still around them all the time. Is it something new?

Some bibles have dates and because they are attached to the bible some see them as authoritative. Bible literalists tend to take "son of" as if it was literally the son of but the ancients skipped generations that were less renowned. Jesus was recorded as the son of David but there were some generations between David and Jesus.

Wow that's great. I never knew there was a place like this. I would support that in a second! I know I'm an atheist and they likely aren't, but that's okay. They will need all the help they can get.

Snow, that site was set up by Simpleton. One of his sick pranks. Think you will find it is a farce, does not exist. Cherie may have more information on it.

I think it's a great idea and if it's just a prank I wonder if there is a way that we all could somehow change it into a reality for ex-workers who want to leave but can't because they have no money or education to support themselves. I would be behind that for sure. Thanks for the heads up redback
