there is no case in the bible that i am aware of where someone that decided for Christ didn't didn't do it though a public declaration of some kind that they were now Christs own and therefore saved... The public declaration was not what saved them. Do you really think they all decided right at the point of their public declaration. Case in point. This woman knew before her public declaration. Her Faith in Christ saved her. She knew she was a sinner before!, she knew Jesus canceled her debt before!, She trusted that he had before. Do you really think she did all this so she could be saved from her public declaration of love?. When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. - Luke 7:36-37 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” - Luke 7:50 If a public declaration is required in order to be born again then the 12 apostles and Paul, the apostles to the Gentiles mustn’t be saved. None of them stood up in a gospel meeting or went up to the front of the crowd to immediately declare their faith. They responded to Christ’s call, it stopped them in their tracks and they followed him. As you say, if someone says a public declaration is required they’re just making a ritual out of it. A person who responds to His call, turns to Christ and puts their trust always does it privately in their hearts. They may discuss it or declare it immediately or later but at the point it occurs it is a very personal moment. It’s entering a personal relationship - the critical thing is that we say yes to Christ and hand over our lives to Him. The reason that there is so much focus on the need for a public declaration in the 2x2 system is the rituals that are core to the system - their requirement that a person can only profess through a worker (not Scriptural), the need to profess before being able to participate in a meeting (not Scriptural), the need to be baptised before taking the emblems (not Scriptural) etc.

IF we need to go through “the public”. (In this case , the workers ) to receive salvation , then we just gave “the public” the right and the power to also remove it. This is what the 2x2 church would teach . You need mans approval , to stay on “ the list “ “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”- Jesus Alvin Ps - of course , a private individual decision to follow Jesus will not prevent you from sharing it publicly , like these guys singing m.youtube.com/watch?v=rnLrYU7oauE

None of them however diminish or add to the finished work of Christ. And the gospel is we already have salvation for free 😁. How many do you think Christ Himself would do of those? This a question waiting for an answer. Seems Jesus didnt dissaprove of alcohol... and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom asideand said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” - John 2:9-10 And didn't mind drinking it also.... with sinners...... But Jesus was sinless and he drank alcohol hmmmmmm...... 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ - Luke 7:33-34 Seems the disciples liked the odd beverage as well.... Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! - Acts 2:14-15 Jesus frequented the temple and synagogue..... I think Jesus would approve of TV's as it would keep those nosey 2x2 zealots preoccupied instead of being in everyone else's business. This guilt trip stunt you are pulling "would Jesus do this", "what would Jesus say", again its a typical worker/zealot stunt and is spiritual abuse.

I enjoyed the note that was sent out by our Minister last week. Let’s Be the Church!Dear friends, God has placed a most unique moment before us — it is time for us to be the church! I love the English language but it can be a little frustrating the way words can change meaning almost instantly! One of my favourites is the word “sick”. In the hands of my mum, it means “unwell”. In the hands of my son it means “awesome”! The word “church” can be like this. Often we associate the idea of “church” with the building (eg. I go to church!). Sometimes we associate it with the staff of the church (eg. The church called me!). Both are fine uses of the word, but actually miss the profound depth and joy that comes from understanding and using the word well. The “church” is the gathering of God’s people around his Word in the presence of Jesus who is always with us. The “church” is the people! We together are the “church”! In this spirit, I hope you will go to church, by gathering with others electronically in whatever way you can. I also hope you will be the church by calling each other and being an encouraging presence. But more than anything, I hope you will recognise that you are a crucial part of this thing called Christ Church St Ives and you will play a part in loving and growing others. In this season we will not be physically gathering but we are still God’s people who need to love, listen, care, pray and speak the word of truth into a world that needs it. All this is part of why we keep saying, church is not cancelled, it’s just different! You cannot cancel the people of God who will gather no matter what, even in unusual forms! So, let’s be the church and get on with building wholehearted disciples of Jesus! Well explained! I'm glad he's reaching out to the friends as well 😉

Actually he is a very nice chap, just a pity he failed on here. I wonder what happened that he was so nasty on here? I have never heard a worker talk like he did. I was shocked to be honest. Not like I remembered them. Review must have been before my time on here. Which is recent. I think I would be delighted to get to know him. Sounds like he must have gone AGAINST the flow. Jesus did the same.

Can you remind us of what, in your opinion, is required? Trust that Christ's blood has already made you right before God. Anything over and above that is a reaction to recognizing Christ's salvation was effective before the foundation of the world. It is the way you live your life, and relate to all other people. Standing up for one minute, does not bring that about.James 4:17 declares, "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." What James refers to here is the public declaration of faith. If we live exclaiming to everyone that we're Christians, but our actions do not in any way back up our claims, it comes to show that our public declarations mean nothing to us. A life lived conforming to accepted moral standards is much more important than a one minute ritual. I agree even though I don't believe in being saved or gods. But if there is a god, standing up on Sunday afternoon in a manmade gospel meeting isn't necessary to be 'saved'. God would much more prefer what is in people's minds and hearts I'm sure. People can attend church, make a public show of belief and still in no way actually believe even. Look at all the people who attend church and commit all sorts of atrocities when not sitting in church. The workers that commit CSA have publicly made it known but does that mean they are saved? Using Christian terms, I would say they definitely aren't.

God can apparently pick you if you go to another country and pretend you're a "teacher" instead of a "worker". that would be a case of being wise as a serpent... Since when are serpents wise? It's deceitful

I am not judging him for it, I am observing his behavior. I always take into consideration that there are likely underlying reasons for how people act. I felt sorry for him most of the time, when I wasn't just in a state of shock. I had never known a worker that talked like him. He had issues that was plain to see and I wouldn't judge him for something he likely didn't have an ability to see himself.

A public acceptance of Him is not a ritual. You will have no finished work without accepting Him and accepting him publicly. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Obedience! That's what they are all running away from. It's a daily thing. It's a life. Obedience to the word of God. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Some think that you don't have to do anything to obey God. So true so true.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Go and read Romans 4 and swap the words "works" and "circumcision" to any rituals you think plays a part in your salvation. Swap circumcision for professing 😉 Why do words have to be swapped is that not adding to and taking away?

When my sister stood in a meeting, my parents were all upset. I found that very interesting as my father professed. My mother was upset as she said the workers would constantly be at our house keeping an eye on us. She was one doing the cooking and cleaning and housekeeping. My parents told the workers that my sister got caught up in the emotion of the meeting, which she said she did.

Trust that Christ's blood has already made you right before God. Anything over and above that is a reaction to recognizing Christ's salvation was effective before the foundation of the world. If it is a conscious effort to finish your salvation what do you need Christ for?. 41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. It is finished!, the priest has sat down!. Salvation is not a transaction. It is a gift from the grace of God. Thank you Chuck for your thought provoking and tradition challenging posts. So good to see. I have a question for you about not doing anything for our salvation...from what Jesus taught, it seems there is something we MUST do for our salvation. [41] Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: I would first ask, Where does it suggest we must do something to complete the already finished work of Christ?. I think your reading with the mindset that salvation has not been completed. If you read this thinking salvation is not complete than I can see why one would assume works salvation. I read this as, if you overlook those in need, lookout or you will find yourself standing on the left hand side. See the grace granted to you and let it flow onto others. This in no way suggests one will lose his salvation because you cant assume he is talking to only true believers and in no way suggests you must look after the needy to earn salvation.

Right so man's conformity for salvation is. Meetings Missions Conventions Professing Baptism Prayer KJV bible only No Tv's No movies No music No internet No dancing No motor cars No jewlery No short hair (women) Dress code No alcohol No smoking No drugs No sex outside marriage No radios No going to other chruches and goodness knows what other unwritten rules/laws were dreamt up. Feel free to add. Obviously some of these have died a natural death thankfully. All of these things and how you treat them are important. None of them however diminish or add to the finished work of Christ. And the gospel is we already have salvation for free 😁. Well except the bible does encourage women to have long hair and a dress code(ie, not to wear costly apparel), and the bible does indicate baptism is necessary, and as far as sex outside of marriage, from a female perspective that is just plain SAFE for spiritual and mental health. But I really appreciate that you challenge the thinking of everyday 2&2s. Comon put your thinking cap on. Just about every 2x2 woman today would be be wearing costly apparel in comparison to the women you are using to justify a dress code. Some of the 2x2 problem is we just do not grasp the opression these people were living under. We are not living in poverty. The worst dressed 2x2 women is still probably hardly comparible. If your going to hold to the long hair tradition you may wanna check every other tradition, what about women should shut there mouths? gonna hold to that one?. They do not apply literally in the 21st centuary. Did the thief get baptized?. I love the thief on the cross, he puts the spotlight on all sorts of made up rot. How about the sinner woman?. Or others that Jesus healed. No mention of baptism and a it being a manditory requirement for salvation. Sure sex outside of marriage can be destructive. What did Jesus say? "neither do I condemn you". When was the only time Jesus said "your going to hell"?.

- Luke 7:36-37 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” - Luke 7:50 that was a public declaration...THEN came the “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” So her faith happened at what point.? I say before she even saw Jesus. Why else did she go. The one with the bigger debt loves more. She loved Jesus before she even saw him, she knew the debt had been cancled Hence her motives and reactions. Not after Jesus said she was saved.

Go and read Romans 4 and swap the words "works" and "circumcision" to any rituals you think plays a part in your salvation. Swap circumcision for professing 😉 Why do words have to be swapped is that not adding to and taking away? To help you understand that your practicing and condoning rituals for salvation. I mean I can see why you won't do it, its quite confronting to realise you have been doing something for a lifetime thats Dung as Paul would say. Im so glad the 2x2 God is not like the Goddess Cybele. Some of those rituals make me shudder.
