I can imagine, take care. I think the power is a thing of beauty. I certainly don’t ride outside of my limits but one does have to push in order to improve so there is certainly risk. Where about in aus do you live?

I cheery agree. It’s a healthy passion for the mind, but can be a very unhealthy passion to the body. It’s a risk that every motorcycle rider is will to take though. NZ would be a very interesting place to ride, so many mountains and awesome scenery. You mean how come the bike doesn’t go right over as in fall to the ground while leaning? Yes exactly. That is a good question. I’m not sure how to answer that but I’ll try.. I guess it’s the forward momentum that keeps the bike from falling over while leaned over. If one was to take a corner very slowly while try to lean a lot it would probably fall over. The more speed you carry into a corner the more lean angle is needed to get through the corner. If you had ever wondered why you see the rider hanging off the bike and essentially dragging their knee on the ground, it’s to keep the center of gravity as low to the ground as possible. Leaning a bike over in a corner far enough to drag your knee on the ground requires a lot of confidence in your tires. Luckily for us, the tires capabilities of keeping us stuck to the road during high lean are a lot higher than the capabilities of the rider unless your a professional racer or make a mistake while pushing the limits. Things like cold tires, or a wet patch or gravel on the road will bring even the best rider unstuck though. 😎

Thanks for that. I found it quite riveting to read. I’ll read it through a few times so next time I see it in action, I will have some understanding!!

I’m no expert and there is much I need to learn myself. The more casual rider probably doesn’t have the need or even wants to learn to lean over far enough to drag their knee, but I’m not really the casual rider and my bike demands to be ridden hard 😂😁

I never did much on motor bikes because my hearing problems have left me with balance issues. I have a quad and go quadding but haven't been able to do that even for a few years. At least not the way I used to in the off trail. Bumps send an electric shock up my spine these days and so I really try to avoid that. Sigh. Used to buckle my border collie into the passenger seat and off we'd go. Only took it fairly easy when she was riding. She sat there quite nicely. She was a pro! Mostly she liked to run beside the quad along all the trails.

Snow you may have to graduate to a Mobility Scooter like myself. At the moment I am continuing to work at having mobility. I refuse to give up. My morning walks are not easy but I refuse to give in. I walk every morning for 45 minutes and some days I do lean on my husband on the way home. My quadding days are over unless I'm on a relatively flat surface. I miss the rides where we got muddy and lost in the woods lol...

That rocks ! Prefer my Harley that I do ride . Great places to cruise in Alberta . Like the old highway to Banff . The scenery is awesome . Love my toys . Mom hates my Harley all most as much as my nose ring . She requests that I don’t wear it at her centre . So I take it out before I get to her care home . We were taught to respect the Truth . So we honour her requests . In spite of not professing we respect her faith . 77 years professing , so we debating the virus 🦠 , she thinks virus 🦠 is a warning . It is what it is . Who’s to say .

I rode a 250 Yamaha dirt bike years ago. I road on a Harley many years ago with a former boyfriend. Very scary, but then he was young and inebriated all the time. Yes. I was young and stupid too. A little smarter nowadays.
I am terrified of riding with anyone in a car. I could never be a passenger on a bike these days. When the hubby and I go anywhere, I either drive or we take separate cars. If it's a long trip and the hubby is driving, I get drunk coming and going. I do. Only way I can chill. The hubby tells me to recline the seat and sleep. I tell him that if I am going to die that I want to see it coming.
This was about motorcycles. Sorry to go off topic.

In some sections of Florida USA as in retirement villages, the ride around on golf carts. Those people are dangerous. They drive about like they own the road and everyone as to watch out for them. Very scary.

No problem . I dated a biker . I started riding about age 10 . We would chase rattle snakes . We were not to bright . Word of advice don’t date a fully patched biker . Drinking all the way and back rocks lmao . I just do that on planes now . When I arrive in Fort Worth she knows what to expect and is unhappy 😞 Ah my bestie and I still ride . They are not required to wear a helmet in Texas . I am supposed to be there in May . Not sure how this will roll out with the virus 🦠 . But my nephew is getting married and I was going for 2-3 months ? Who knows !

I called the police and their were stunned , how low will people go . The person listed in on kijiji and I called . Meet the police and retrieved it . Silly novice criminals .

Sorry to hear this happened to you, glad you got it back. Lucky! There has been a string of motorcycles stolen around Brisbane lately, including several from a popular motorcycle Qride training facility. Devastating.

Ya it was low , stealing a handicapped persons means of mobility . I have 3 classes of drivers license’s 1 to operate a car 2 to drive a 60 foot bus and 4 for my bike . The articulated buses are a blast . So one night Georgio and I decided to have a race back to the garage . Both of us on articulated buses . We got on Deerfoot Tr like a highway we’re we could go up to 100 kmp . Off we went but could only get to 90k . They had installed governors on the buses . We got busted . But had fun . Yep mom’s dainty little girl (nightmare) . Poor mom she got ripped off 😂 You rebel you 😂 For a long time we parked out car in the driveway at night cause the garage was full. You wouldn’t believe it but the one and only night I forgot to lock the car, someone went through it and stole a bunch of stuff. Goes to show that people walking the streets at night and checking car doors to see if they are locked it’s probably an regular occurrence.

No we started out as Mexicans down south. Moved to NSW in 1968 and because I worked for the Post Office, had a few shifts, saw a fair bit of NSW. Since retiring in 1995 spent time at Coffs Harbour, but since 2001 have been in North West NSW. Our Family all live in North NSW. Armidale is a nice city, bit cold in the winter. Our Daughter went to University there. I hope to go to the same University, but have to die first.

We now have a garage, but at our old house we did not. So one frosty morning I am about to get into my car and notice a spot on the window behind the driver's window. It looked as if someone cleared a spot on the frosted glass to look inside the car. I looked closer and saw frozen yellow drops on the window and down the side of the door. Someone had tried to open my gas tank cover and found it only opens from the inside. The got mad and pissed on my car. Very unnerving that someone was in my backyard where I parked my car.

Wally you and I have something in common, frightened of heights. although it sounds like you were cured. Had a friend who lived on the 19th floor of a high rise building. When we used to visit he used to ask us to go out on the balcony. No way, used to remain firmly seated in the lounge. My Wife would go out no problem. On the odd occasion that we travel by air, never take a window seat, aisle is fine.
Perhaps that is why when I die, I want to go down, not up.

I never liked Armidale or Uralla while we loved there but we visited with there a few years ago and really enjoy it now. The entire New England tablelands area a beautiful place. Definitely a chilli place during the winter but I’d rather that the temperatures we get hear around Brisbane. That’s awesome, what did your daughter study? I have done some study at the same university myself and will do so again in the near future.
