And the funny thing about Americans, they have a kind of juvenile fascination and affection for people who have the arrogance to operate outside the law with a flourish of bravado that they become national heroes. e.g. The Iran-Contra fiasco. As an American, I can honestly say this is an astute observation. We were founded by such people.

I wonder - given how incapacitated Joe is, and factoring in how corrupt he's turning out to be.... and given how dangerous to freedom we think Trump is, can we assume that should our come to Biden vs. DeSantis in 2024, everyone would vote for DeSantis?
Given that the stuff which is coming to light about Biden (which nobody here probably cares about yet, but when Hunter is trying to get Chinese investors to buy US drilling operations and Daddy kneecaps domestic energy as a first order of his presidency, presumably someone somewhere will get over their hatred of Trump long enough to be able to see what's going on)...
Can we ask assume that if our objections to Trump were in part due to alleged corruption and idiot kids running business ventures, we can at least call it a common denominator between himself and Biden? Trump becomes worse on the "danger to democracy and overall jerkwad" front, while Biden becomes worse on the "shaking hands with invisible people and reading 'repeat the line' directly off teleprompter" front.
DeSantis however, doesn't have the corruption, speaks coherently, and is assertive without being a giant jerk. And since Biden's second biggest donor just committed fraud to make Madoff raise his eyebrows, DeSantis has a chance to be able to compete a bit better with the ads. It'll be hard to outspend the democrats, especially if their donors donate days BEFORE losing millions of clients investments and going Bankrupt a la FTX, but at least there's some hope.

Republicans are constantly saying that the democrats are so incompetent that they aren't capable of doing anything right. But when it comes to elections apparently they are such geniuses that they are capable of rigging and stealing all republican votes. LOL you can't have it both ways. Americans don't like where the current GOP is headed and they had some say in the matter. Losing is a valid position in a competition. Just a little reminder of that republicans.

The real problem with American democracy today is that the GOP-MAGA-Christian nationalist bloc has designated the GOP god's presence in America, and anything opposing is of Satan. It doesn't matter how they soft sell it -- everything proposed by the opposition is the wiles of the devil undermine god's blessings on (the worthy) of America. There is no commitment to democratic principles whatsoever -- it's about bringing domination to the chosen.

Muslims feel the same way in countries they control. Christians want to make the US a Christian regime and it would be no different than Saudi Arabia with religion police making sure that everyone had to abide by Christian rules straight out of the bible. The irony is that many Christians would not like having to live under bible based rules. It sounds like Alito leaked from the Supreme court before the Roe V wade leak. When Hobby Lobby was in court trying to get out of paying for their employees contraceptive medication, he leaked what the outcome would be. slate.com/news-and-politics/2022/11/alito-leak-hobby-lobby-real-problem.html

These judges need to be impeached for lying about Roe v Wade. There appears to be no accountability for anyone that is rich, in positions of power etc. Our world really does need to review how our justice systems work. As long as those in power get to make the rules the rules will continue to protect them while everyone else gets punishment. If anyone that was just a normal citizen of the US did what Trump has done they'd be in jail a long time ago. Bannon, Flynn, the list is endless. It's really disheartening to watch.

It's becoming more apparent that the US supreme court judges are politicians wearing robes. They are appointed to their position because of their political bias rather than their legel acumen.

They were groomed by the Christian Nationalist group to turn USA into a theocracy. Been working on it for decades and Trump gave them exactly what they wanted.

This was one reason that I cringed when they were sore losers by screaming about "stolen elections". Knowing how badly the Dems were in the process of screwing up virtually everything, when they win back seats, they look real fools saying "ah - the people have spoken!". Hypocrites. A funny SNL about that -> www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr2LyxJpHu8

It's odd - the media was (rightly) very willing to blast president Trump for his lies. Even mildly stretching the truth would reliably result in the "fact checkers" figuring out how it could be a lie. And Biden has a long and rich history of lies and plagiarism (starting in 1965). It used to matter. It mattered in 1987, to the New York Times. "To buttress his assertions of sincerity and openness, Mr. Biden released a 65-page file, obtained by the Senator from the Syracuse University College of Law, that he said contained all the records of his years there. It disclosed relatively poor grades in college and law school, mixed evaluations from teachers and details of the plagiarism." (E.J. Dionne Jr., "Biden Admits Plagiarism In School But Says It Was Not 'Malevolent'...
The File Distributed By The Senator Included A Law School Faculty Report, Dated Dec. 1, 1965, That Concluded That Mr. Biden Had 'Used Five Pages From A Published Law Review Article Without Quotation Or Attribution' And That He Ought To Be Failed In The Legal Methods Course For Which He Had Submitted The 15-Page Paper." The New York Times, 9/18/87)
We had a student plagiarize a paper 4 years ago, in his final year of medical school. He was not only Failed in the course, but was put on a year of academic probation. It's a really big deal. But not for Biden. Right? "The faculty ruled that Mr. Biden would get an F in the course but would have the grade stricken when he retook it the next year. Mr. Biden eventually received a grade of 80 in the course, which, he joked today, prevented him from falling even further in his class rank. Mr. Biden, who graduated from the law school in 1968, was 76th in a class of 85."
He didn't learn his lesson. (from school or life, it seems). In 1987, Biden Plagiarized A Speech From British Politician Neil Kinnock
On August 23, 1987, Joe Biden Falsely Referred To His Ancestors As Having Worked In Coal Mines In Northeast Pennsylvania. SENATOR JOE BIDEN (D-DE): "Those same people who read poetry and wrote poetry and taught me how to sing verse? Is it because they didn't work hard? My ancestors, who worked in the coal mines of Northeast Pennsylvania and would come up after 12 hours and play football for four hours?" (Joe Biden, Remarks At Democratic Debate, IA, 8/23/87)--Biden Plagiarized A 1968 Speech From Robert Kennedy, Lifting Nearly A Whole Paragraph Word For Word --Biden Plagiarized From President John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address --Biden Lifted Lines From Senator Hubert Humphrey On Multiple Occasions --Joe Biden Plagiarized His Policy Plans From Other Groups --Joe Biden's Unity Task Force Copied Whole Sections Of Bernie Sanders' Campaign Platform The side by side transcripts can be found here ( www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/campaign-press-release-copy-that-joe-bidens-long-record-plagiarism ), but I don't imagine anyone cares in the slightest. The reality is there, but nobody can see clearly. The guy has always been this way.

Not fair, using Joe Biden's direct quote from 2006 to attack Joe Biden's policies in 2023. I mean, it's just mean of Joe to be so against Joe. I bet Joe would like to take Joe behind the woodshed for saying such things!
