I thought that we had discussed Lisle before!
Guess we have to do it again.
Jason Lisle said:
"1. If the Bible were not true, -logic would not be meaningful.
2. Logic is meaningful.
3. Therefore, -the Bible is true."
Ah huh - I suppose I need glasses because I did not hear this anywhere in the linked video.

What was the debate about now? Not much of a debate. More of an ongoing cleanup of unverified claims. The use of a well known style produces a lot to cleanup. More explanation regarding this can be found HERE or HERE. The cleanup takes more effort and greater detail for the explanation.

this has got to be the longest running argument/debate i have ever seen.... When things start going downhill they gain momentum. It's mass and/or velocity increases in a direct relation to the number of passes made by a Gish galloper, the number of items thrown against the wall, and the willingness of people to correct the misinformation for the n th time contained in the oft repeated creationist claims. Sounds like a normal situation...

Creationists need to tell me just what their belief in a young earth and that we didn't evolve could contribute to the benefits they enjoy today in Medicine to start with. So many things we depend on today are discovered and built on the fact that we live in a very old universe and that we evolved.

No need for a gin to separate cotton fibers from their seeds if the fibers are useless because of a 6,000 year time limit.

What was my great logic shift, Dennis ? True, -you weren't taking about Christians, -but you were saying that "various sciences even seem to disagree with each other."
My reply was an answer to your statement about the "sciences." So, let me repeat my statement.
The sciences agree with each other far more often than religions agree with each other
Even far more often than Christians within Christianity agree with each other!
Even far more often than ex-2x2's agree with each other when they shift to a different Christian religion!
There is your error. Christianity is the religion. How can you shift to a different Christian religion? You shift to different Christian Church or denomination. mea culpa!
Thanks, enuf, -you are right.
Glad you caught that!

No, -of course it would not have been on Eli's mind but then,- it also wouldn't have been on his mind to even think of making a cotton gin if cotton hadn't evolved to a useful commodity.

It didn't have to be concerned since cotton had had the time to evolve to a plant with useful fibers...

If you don't understand evolution there are many things that you wouldn't think of or understand that furthers medical benefits. I don't think creationists understand just how much scientists depend on what they have learned from evolution and the age of the universe when it comes to being able to do further experiments that give us many benefits.
