Dear friends in our field,
Chances are good that many/most of you have heard about Dan Stewart, the oldest brother of Robert Stewart, making his choice Sunday night in NE Edmt
mission. The hymn was #145, "the tender Shepherd's voice has reached my troubled heart". He visited with his children that night and told them of
his choice; he talked with most of his siblings; and apparently for the first time in their married life, Carol saw him kneel beside him bed, after
telling her he didn't really know how to pray.
Then -- in the wee hrs of the a.m., he woke with a terrible headache, they
called 911, and before long he was unconscious. He had a major brain bleed,
and never recovered consciousness. There was no brain activity after that.
He was pronouced dead at 9:38 p.m. February 19. So Dan Stewart had only a
few hours after he made his choice. We were all in awe Sunday night to hear
that he had made his choice, and even more in awe Monday a.m. when we heard
that he wouldn't likely live. We would've been 60 in April
The AB service is in Sherwood Park Thursday at 1:30 in the Connelly-McKinley
Funeral Home. The SK service is in the Balgone Multiplex Saturday at 10:30;
burial to follow in Weyburn at 3:00.
Dan & Carol have lived in Sherwood Park for only a couple of years, so they
have deep ties in SK. Carol has been a very faithful lady, and such a joy
for her to see Dan make his choice. It surely is taking the sting out of his death.
Just this, Most of you will know, but possible some wouldn't have heard.
Good night, your sisters,
LaDon & Adrienne
