One of the best men -- son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend -- I've ever known. Lived to help and encourage others, always saw the bright side, always gentle, kind, humble, and genuine. We were tiny little boys together, and then when we grew up, he married my cousin and became family. Heading to Ohio tomorrow to be with family and friends to remember him and give thanks for his life.

I ended up being the pianist for the service. As the crowd was filing out, and I saw that it was time to stop after finishing the hymn I was playing, the last line I played was, "Lord, take my heart and may I always seek to be like Jesus: faithful, true, and meek." I can't think of a better summary of Malcolm's life.

Long wished to die with such a testimony. Instead, outcast, excommunicated, disinherited, discredited worse than an “outsider.” Death, living death for a number of years. Existing, yes, not living as most know it. Job was thought by many to be a good man. HIS end was better off, though, not worse.
