Would it not be better to insist Men have more respect for Woman, so as they have no need of a gun. has that worked in say the last 2000 years? You are right, it hasn't worked so far. Why???. The attitude of Men, in suppression of Woman. That needs to change, and thank goodness that there is a lot of effort being put into that in Australia. You will find that Women will take a more humanistic approach to it, and the guns could be melted down. But we need to get men supporting the fact that there is need for change, because they stuffed up. Women could well be the answer, well worth a try, before it is too late. It is so sad that America's "Esteemed Leader" is number one ticket holder in the NRA, and has little respect for Women. Australia and New Zealand may be able to show him the way it should be.

The NRA are not interested at all in anyone's rights. What matters to them is the bottom line of the gun manufacturers and they will sell the concept of fear to the poor dopey USA men to keep the gun trade bubbling along.

I'd be far more concerned about an accidental discharge after dropping a handbag with a loaded gun, or a child getting hold of a handgun than the extremely rare event of rape, assault or murder by a stranger. train train train....and then train some more.... No amount of training can be as effective at preventing firearm accidents as simply not having the firearms. The Australian measure of rape here includes other types of sexual assault so that rank may be inaccurate. Regardless, in most cases of rape the attacker is known to the victim. That includes people like partners, family, friends and co-workers. It would be an extreme nuisance, not to mention an act of paranoia to have a handgun on my person in the environments where I interact with those kinds of people.

Snow, Murder will never be acceptable in a decent society. The Ten Commandments of God as a help and reliable guide for our entire existence – for the events of earthly life and even beyond. I am the Lord thy God! Thou shalt have no other Gods but me! Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain! Thou shalt keep the Sabbath Day holy! Thou shalt honor father and mother! Thou shalt not kill! Thou shalt not commit adultery! Thou shalt not steal! Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor! Do not let thyself lust after thy neighbor’s wife! Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, nor his farm, nor his cattle, It's hard to take that seriously. God (and Jesus if you are trinitarian) proudly masterminded mass killings for the chosen people to perform. And the mouthpiece for the massacre planning, Moses, was one of the two who appeared with Jesus at the Transfiguration.

While it may be a racist point for you, Bob, it certainly isn’t for me. Though I confess to being raised racist, I certainly am not any longer. So, I object to constant implications racism is behind everything. Once, surely, now? Not to me, only apparently to those constantly attempting to raise that issue, to my mind and way of thinking.

DAJ She made the mistake of going the wrong way on a one way street. Then when she was threatened she tried to call 911. According to the cameras that was all she did. And you are implying that this is an expected response to this mistake? It's appropriate for someone who sees her do it to beat her up. It's appropriate to kick her telephone away from her when she tries to call 911. It was in order for her to be charged with a felony for this? When did it become appropriate to charge any victim of battery with a felony and let the guy who beat her up go free? Sick...frankly. Is that want they do to white ladies in Washington state when they're found going the wrong way on a street? I've done that a few times myself, and the worst that ever happened to me was someone yelling at me that I was going the wrong way. Tell me why that woman should have been treated the way she was.

Bob, I am sorry, I thought I was responding to your comment regarding race, as to anything else I am completely “in the dark.” I know nothing about what you refer to...so obviously have erred as a result of my ignorance! Having had to alter my own point of view as to what is “racism,” likely that too causes me to err now, sigh. My numerous minority acquaintances deserve every aspect of respect from me and others as my Caucasian ones.

Thanks Wally. Getting old. All I can say to ether topic is “duh....” I can no longer chase every thread’s links. Will try to do better, but I realize that prospect is fading... Glad my Lord Yahu’shuah is more concerned about humanities “being” than “doing.”

There’s a video clip in article. found it finally.... there are a number of lengthy answers i could give you but i think it can be summed up with this: we believe in individual freedoms over safety and its worked for over 250+ years... and if you want to blame someone blame the british if they hadn't tried coming for our firearms at the time of the revolution the USA might be a different country now...
