So a 18 year old girl should dress like a 60 year old worker @wally ? Why do you care about another man or woman’s hair style or their choice of clothing anyhow? Nothing better or more productive to do? It seems like it’s none of your business and certainly has nothing to do with anyone’s salvation. Are you asking me this question gsamuelwalker ?

Wow, so what happened to following your own choices or following your own "convictions" Every single person has their own personality and the change that to "conform" to something that isn't biblical ( if you are following the bible) is just crazy. We are all individuals and SO different. Its NOT about the outward appearances. I will jump up and down the day the 2x2's realize this. Uugh this just aggravates every part of my being. So over it. Simple solution. For those who do not like “man-buns, do not wear one. Also, be thankful we live in this age instead of the time of the revolution.
It has often been a “wonder” in my mind what people like those of the two and two worker group did in that era? Perhaps proclaim buns were only for women, I guess.

Simple solution. For those who do not like “man-buns, do not wear one. Also, be thankful we live in this age instead of the time of the revolution.
It has often been a “wonder” in my mind what people like those of the two and two worker group did in that era? Perhaps proclaim buns were only for women, I guess. hehhe... well natives of the time certainly liked them they made good scalps on the old lodge pole....

About a dozen or so. It is like having a dollar each way in a horse race. As I have said before it is now a social club for the gullible.

I think those black stockings under a beautiful dress could look AWESOME! Oh, I don't think you understand, Jetmech! Those black stockings were cotton and were thick. After wearing them a few hours they'd get stretched from bending the knees and those little pockets of bulging black cotton would fall down around the ankle. If course that might depend in the brand of stockings. Those stockings were dear to those ladies because due to the war they couldn't find any nylon stockings. And they would fade in streaks and spots after being washed. Before the war there was only cotton or silk stockings. But only the richer were able to buy silk stockings.
Most women had to be wear cotton hose. But women professing had to wear BLACK cotton hose. Nylon stockings were shown at the 1939 New York World's Fair but only first sold commercially in 1940. But by then almost all nylon production was diverted to the military for use in parachutes.
Professing women couldn't have dared wear them even if they had been available. They had hard time even finding black cotton hose & often had to buy the brown ones & dye them black.
Yes, that is the truth! I kid you not!
In fact one of the workers would say this little ditty:
"You will know the devil is leading you by the nose when you are wearing silk hose!"
PS: It think that the stockings that jetmech may have in mind is the black lace stockings that "ladies of the night" wore!

How long do must we have to listen people like jectmech who complain about people who are doing nothing at all to hurt him in any way?

I certainly DIDN'T FEEL "gorgeous" at the time.

If the workers want to give an example its an example of the heart. A pure and true love for Jesus. And a pure and true love for Jesus doesn't lead ALL folowers to dress in skirts/dresses and wear their hair up in buns. I would agree that the hair thing is,slacking a bit, but the dress code isn't. Before we left I wore and very modest pair of pants and a long tunic shirt. I got looks from people and felt very judged and out of place. Very sad, given that there is NOTHING biblical and is relevent to our day about women wearing skirts. It simply is a tradition/rule of the 2x2's that got carried down from the beginnings of this religion. Its pure legalism We go to a Christian non denominational church right now amd i wear the same thing I wore to meeting, nobody bats an eye, and I am FREE to worship and love God and follow the guidence of the Holy Spirit. Its beautiful. God has free reign in my heart.

If the workers want to give an example its an example of the heart. A pure and true love for Jesus. And a pure and true love for Jesus doesn't lead ALL folowers to dress in skirts/dresses and wear their hair up in buns. I would agree that the hair thing is,slacking a bit, but the dress code isn't. Before we left I wore and very modest pair of pants and a long tunic shirt. I got looks from people and felt very judged and out of place. Very sad, given that there is NOTHING biblical and is relevent to our day about women wearing skirts. A large number if professing women under 50 or so, do dress more in consideration of what she expects to be getting into that day. But there are a considerable number of professing women who still hang tough on wearing "worker-like" apparel. We had a family in a nearby city and urban areas who had a small acreage around their house where they kept horses and cows. There was no man of the house so the younger lady would go out and get on her tractor and put out feed, hay and water everyday and sometimes twice a day. A couple of sister workers were staying with them and the older sister watch the younger woman go out with her long skirt on to feed and water the life stock. She had to hitch her skirt up just to climb on the tractor. And she had to get up and down on that tractor many times and several times nearly got her long skirt caught in the mechanisms of the tractor which could have been deadly. When she came in after doing be her chores, the older sister told her to get herself some trousers to wear while out doing her chores. That she was going to keep in and get injured or killed wearing skirts while doing her farm chores.

I don't believe there were any two by twos or something like them back in revolutionary times? I've heard that men would always shorten their hair when in combat. Easier and quicker to wash and air dry. Also learned it was a way to keep down the line.

I don't see anywhere in those verses that tell me I need to wear skirts. We need to be examples by loving others. Bearing one another and if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14. I agree with both of you.... We want to follow the example of Jesus spirit that he manifested like mercy, forgiveness, kindness, long suffering, NOT quick to temper, slow to anger, and so on... Fashion changes constantly or the way how we dress so modesty is the KEY! Willie Jamieson (USA overseer), who labored in China said to the workers on his staff who labored overseas, "Try NOT to make your converts to become and dress like the Americans but to be more Christ-like in Spirits." Wearing Dresses in Vietnam is VERY immodest (too much skin is showing) because the women ride motor bikes to get around to different places, or working in the rice fields, or climbing the ladders.
God give us brains and He wants us to use it. Like in Canada, -50 degree cold weather howling wind, and you want your children to wear dresses to school? Come on, use your common sense don't let your children Freeze to death out in the cold.
When in Rome do as the Romans do. Respect each country culture and fashion but don't force to obey one culture over another another as the ONLY way to do it.

I don't see anywhere in those verses that tell me I need to wear skirts. We need to be examples by loving others. Bearing one another and if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15. And let thr peace of Christ rule in your hearts to which you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17. Yes, I do agree with that Anyway I'm not really here to argue about beliefs. The topic about apparel hits home hard for me because I lived it as many others I'm sure. But I am beyond thankful to God, that he has opened my eyes to see beyond the outward and more the inward. I'm happy for you that you seem happy with your faith. Well I actually think it is. We shouldn't be looking to other people for a way to dress. That wouldn't give us room to follow the Holy Spirit and our own convictions. We are merely following the conviction of another person. If the workers want to give an example its an example of the heart. A pure and true love for Jesus. And a pure and true love for Jesus doesn't lead ALL folowers to dress in skirts/dresses and wear their hair up in buns. I would agree that the hair thing is,slacking a bit, but the dress code isn't. Before we left I wore and very modest pair of pants and a long tunic shirt. I got looks from people and felt very judged and out of place. Very sad, given that there is NOTHING biblical and is relevent to our day about women wearing skirts. It simply is a tradition/rule of the 2x2's that got carried down from the beginnings of this religion. Its pure legalism We go to a Christian non denominational church right now amd i wear the same thing I wore to meeting, nobody bats an eye, and I am FREE to worship and love God and follow the guidence of the Holy Spirit. The only one that comes close is about "sexual immorality". So even that doesn't say about clothing, but of course in the "battle of the sexes", people have used their "looks" to get the attention of the opposite sex. But actually what that verse is talking about is "fornication" or adultery. If you remember the Jews went to see the Gentile converts. They told those converts they MUST be circumcised in order to be associated with the church body of Christ. Now it became such an issue, Paul went to Jerusalem to talk with the Apostles. It was a very sizable conflab but James the Lord's brother said the fact is they were trying to inflict the Gentile converts with Jewish rules/laws that the Jews themselves find hard to bear. So the way to handle the issue is the fact that the Old Mosaic law and traditions did not save them, that's why Jesus came down The recommendation the Apostles came up with was to write to those Gentile converts and tell them that the only rules or recommendations were: "We write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions by of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled and from blood". Acts 15: 20 The outward appearance does not enter into ones salvation. The appearance issue is a legalistic issue controlled by men. Jesus said in John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge 'righteous judgement.' God said in I Sam. 16:7 "But the Lord said unto Samuel,"Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the 'outward appearance' but the Lord looketh on the heart."
