Bill Cosby's sentencing is scheduled for today. He has been convicted of three counts of sexual assault. It is possible that his wife still believes that he is innocent. not sure why you keep trying to tie bill cosbys actions with kavanaughs maybe its feminisms "all sex is rape" mantra. i believe at first she defended him but later on became livid and humiliated by what he had done.... I believe that sex without consent is rape. One of the new accusations against Kavanaugh is that he helped target girls and organize gang rapes during house parties in high school. Cosby initially had one accuser and a lot of defenders. Kavanaugh's situation makes me think of Cosby, and Cosby just happens to be back in the news.

Wally. No one thinks all sex is rape. You know that. So why would you say such a thing?

Compared to what I heard from the White House, I find her account, as detailed in the New Yorker, credible, and not without corroboration. "A classmate of Ramirez’s, who declined to be identified because of the partisan battle over Kavanaugh’s nomination, said that another student told him about the incident either on the night of the party or in the next day or two. The classmate said that he is “one-hundred-per-cent sure” that he was told at the time that Kavanaugh was the student who exposed himself to Ramirez. He independently recalled many of the same details offered by Ramirez, including that a male student had encouraged Kavanaugh as he exposed himself. The classmate, like Ramirez, recalled that the party took place in a common room on the first floor in Entryway B of Lawrance Hall, during their freshman year. “I’ve known this all along,” he said. “It’s been on my mind all these years when his name came up. It was a big deal.” The story stayed with him, he said, because it was disturbing and seemed outside the bounds of typically acceptable behavior, even during heavy drinking at parties on campus. The classmate said that he had been shocked, but not necessarily surprised, because the social group to which Kavanaugh belonged often drank to excess. He recalled Kavanaugh as “relatively shy” until he drank, at which point he said that Kavanaugh could become “aggressive and even belligerent.” " Link to New Yorker Article

So, -you are telling me wally that even if it were your own mother who told you that happened to her, -you would question whether she was telling the truth?
Can't you depend on what your mother says about everything else to be true?
Do you mean that you question everything that your mother says as to it being true or not?
You think that "it would be the right thing to do....to call out inconsistencies or inaccuracies in your mother's testimony ?"
Remember, this is a terrible experience that your mother has been though, -yet she should be able to dot each " i " and cross every " t"?
something that terrible? you bet i would want to make sure she is being accurate...nothing like going to the police with an inaccurate story to make matters worse.... Well there you go.
Now, maybe people will understand why it is so difficult for someone who has been raped to go to the authorities.
When you own son doesn't take your word for what happened how can you expect others to understand?
Your own son, -instead of first being concerned about YOUR physical & mental health, -wants to make sure that you dot every i and cross every t !

Good,
Now, -Wally I would like for YOU to think about & picture this in your mind; -picture your mother, -an aunt, -a cousin or your grandmother at just 15 years old being thrown on a bed by some burly drunk guy, -him holding her down while trying to take off her clothes & putting his hand over her mouth so she couldn't yell for help.
Now, -also picture this, -had he succeeded, -anyone of those women might have become pregnant & YOU would have another member added to your family.
Maybe a brother, an uncle? as horrible of a picture that is it still wouldn't stop me from questioning a person and calling out inconsistencies or inaccuracies in their testimonies if need be....and that would be the right thing to do.... Wally, -something just occurred to me.
What I was describing above was not a hypothetical statement created by me.
It was the description of what Blasey Ford said that Kavanaugh did to her.
" thrown on the bed -holding her down while trying to take off her clothes & putting his hand over her mouth so she couldn't yell for help."
It occurred to me that I very much doubt that you had even read the actual account of what happened.

if you want justice its best if you are as accurate and credible as possible, otherwise you'll get nothing....just sayin'

How meaningful. The day after Kavanaugh's nomination, two months ago now, fellow alums at Yale signed a letter declaring Kavanaugh "morally bankrupt". none of which accuse him of being a sexual predator... Then what did they mean? Did he cheat on exams?
Did he lie to his professors?
Did he get HIGH on drugs?
Was he drunk a lot?
What did his fellow alums at Yale mean that Kavanaugh was "morally bankrupt"?

ENOUGH ALREADY!
One tries to be open minded, listen to everyone’s viewpoint. One tries to add a bit of logic and reason. Those of you committed to the leftist view remain adamant. Total disregard for the 65 women defending the guy, some who have known him for a quarter of a century or more.
The named witnesses by his accusers cannot confirm, even dispute the allegations made by them. Leftist viewpoint in this forum has now reached a point of intolerance for this conservative but open minded guy.
Those of you preferring to remain blind to what is going on refuse to even be fair in your mind set. Well, fine, but any doubt I had to the man’s possible innocence has been dispersed by your constant harping upon his guilt!
These constant ongoing leftist attacks might have convinced some of his guilt, however they have now convinced me of his innocence. I recognize slander and libel when I see it, and there is enough in just this forum to shock me!
So, I assert: ENOUGH ALREADY!

"Open minded?"
"Biased", "tone deaf", and "patronizing" are the words that come to mind.
65 women? Even Bill Cosby had ardent female supporters early on. I would be more impressed if Kavanaugh, like his accusers, were asking for further investigation by the FBI. I want the people who have asserted that they never heard of Kavanaugh behaving as accused - and especially his drinking buddy, Judge - to make their assertions under oath. Two such people retracted their rosy statements about Kavanaugh yesterday.
A former roommate of Kavanaugh is now saying that Kavanaugh turned aggressive when he drank, and Kavanaugh himself has stated openly that he drank heavily when he was young.
If you cannot abide the discussion here, find a different one to spend time on. There are many other threads to choose from.

And you think there aren’t a few names to call you?
You cannot deny deny you are a leftist. You cannot deny I loved your Mom and Dad. I held you as a baby. Loved your grand parents also and other relations. Are you going to make claims now that I abused you as a child, too?
SHEESH! I strongly suggest that you leave my family out of this for your own good.

You remind me of the leftists who spit upon me when arriving in my dress uniform decades ago. So far from those now who seeing me in a wheel chair who thank me for my service, which I always defer to those who are no longer alive.
What is being done to Judge K is called character assassination. Threaten me all you want, what are you going to do to someone with one foot in the open grave and the other on a banana peel?
Yeah, I know, you think I am a drama queen! However, I AM one who loved your parents, and grand parents, and other relations. If they did not love me as you imply in your pm to me, that is not how I felt about them.

I never said they didn't love you. I really do not know. You are revealing personal details about me which I believe violate the rules of the board. he didn't reveal anything except he knew you and your relatives talk about being a drama queen...

In this group, relative ages and geograpical clues are potentially identifying. My identity and family business are mine to reveal if I wish, and not anyone else's. I hope admin will agree.

IMO, DJ violated the privacy rules of TMB in a way that made me feel quite uncomfortable. Imo, DJ's behavior in this instance borders on creepy. It is not the first time he has done this to me, and not the first time I have asked him to stop. I have requested input from the Admin. In the mean time, I don't need to justify anything to you.

That's totally bizarre. It certainly isn't a mainstream belief by women. There are crazies in both genders. Doesn't mean all feminists believe this, that's just an irrational conclusion. Sounds like whoever wrote that was a bit like the early RCC saints that thought all sex was a sin!
