I like to keep it simple. Stardust to stardust.* I'm at peace with this. If I die later today, so be it.
*With poetic license.

Time may come to an end. Time began with the Big Bang, about 15 billion years ago. So if this universe ceases to exist, time & an eternity (infinite or unending time) would end.
No one knows which religion, if any is the one right one. Some religions have hell’s & some don’t, so shouldn’t you just pick the religion which has the worst hell? You know, plan for the worst case.
Seriously; The worst hell may be running around full of fear of a punishment that will never come.

Wasting our life on earth worrying about an afterlife that will not materialize is punishment for no reason imo. But how do you get people to believe the unbelievable unless you have a big stick? Hell is religions big stick to keep the people under their control. I think it's horrible to teach people this stuff and abusive. What really bothers me is seeing young children taught this stuff.

I have met many types of Christians. The two that stand out in my mind are:
1. those who preach love and forgiveness. Their attitude attracts others to know what goodness possesses their souls. The live what they preach and they preach what they live. They try and find the message in the bible and not just the last chapter.
2. Those who constantly talk about being God fearing to the point they state who is and is not going to hell. Their attitude attracts others to fear what they speak of. They live mostly in revelations.
I like the first group of people.

I like the first group of people. I think where the second group gets hung up is because the bible isn't just a warm fussy book. It's actually quite brutal and pessimistic for the most part. Yes there are some things that are wholesome and loving, but you really have to look for them and cherry pick their meanings from the brutality that surrounds them. That is why I think some people would be way better off if they just left the bible alone. It takes those personalities and turns them into judgmental 'you're going to hell' kinds of people. They are the ones that are so adamant that they don't fear hell because they have strong faith. But when I hear people threaten me with hell I feel sad because it's pretty obvious where their focus is when it comes to the heaven hell story.

The bible is a library of 66 books preserved over thousands of years. Sometimes hell means the underworld Hades and sometimes it means the grave Gahenna.

Where does it say that GOOD PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T PUT ENOUGH INTO IT are lost? Some meeting folks (and those in similar faiths/sects) think they need to be more and do more. They need to let God work. Then there is order, peace, balance and eternal security.
