That dog's gotta help himself first, virgo. Remember he's only one step away from becoming dog stew. Showing off like he's a rabbit standing has on his back feet.

People seem to be hallucinating. Maybe too long in the sun. I dont see any hallucinations. Redback do you live in the outback? Did you see on the box last night how the chinese are buying up large chunks of farmland? Sorry Bubbles, unable to answer on this thread, would be ruled off topic.

What can I do to increase your understanding? A start might be to look at these posts as being almost, but not quite, entirely unlike serious posts. Perhaps you could recommend a good concordance that would help his understanding? One published after the discovery of.....oh well, never mind. Let's talk about headless horsemen .Now you are talking woman. Have you seen sleepy hollow?

Maybe Rational is telling us it is all about nothing. We always thought it was about something, perhaps it was a vacuum after all.

When I was in the prime of my life, about 60 years ago, the girl who became my wife, used to whisper sweet nothings in my ear. How I loved them. Now nothing, how I would like to hear the sweet nothings again. Because I am deaf maybe I don't hear anymore. Although I don't see her lips moving, so think there is nothing.
My best mate, my Dad, on his death bed said, "The things that concerned us in life, seem like nothing now." So is it all about nothing.

My best mate, my Dad, on his death bed said, "The things that concerned us in life, seem like nothing now." So is it all about nothing. Hi Redback, those things your dad said, I felt when I found God, the things I thought were most important mean nothing to me now, they're dead to me. I used to want many things, none of which I needed. And I look back at my life and realise that they were so unimportant. Many of my family are still living in those ways, and I know it is all vanity! This world is full of temptations, but once in God, they mean nothing. But it's not all about nothing, it's all about life and love. The life and love of God in us and our love for those around us. That love that is in your wife's heart which is in you also, that love has kept you together, the love you had for your best friend your dad and all the others you have loved and that love I believe is from God. So it's not all about nothing, it's all about everything, every blessing that God has given us. And we don't leave nothing behind, we leave love in others hearts, the love we showed them. And that love is a blessing from God.

Just a small problem with this thread. When you score a like on a post, comes up in your notifications. You can just hit on the thread, and go straight to the post. Because this thread does not have a title, you have to go back to Recent Activity. Just a little concerned that this thread may go into oblivion, because it can't be found, could become a lost sheep. Oh well I guess nothing lost.

Yep, as the famous song says "Nothing comes from nothing, nothing ever could...." :) And like so much of the doggerel set to music and pumped out as ever expanding waves of electromagnetic radiation, it is somewhat off the mark!

Each life like pebbles dropped into a pond, the ever expanding ripples spreading out through our environment, becoming fainter as the distance grows. Perhaps the best we can hope for is to have been a positive influence on others.

Everything is nothing until it's observed then we observe it and it becomes something. That old double slit conundrum. wave or a particle!

Everything is nothing once you die.....unless you have something that may seem to some like nothing now.

Was there ever nothing? Seem like there had to be something. How could something come from nothing? When we die, is there really nothing once again?

Well I for one am looking forward to nothing when I get tired of everything! Isn't that the meaning of nirvana? Sort of a flame extinguished. Extinguishing the flame of desire. It's apparently the highest state that can be attained in enlightenment. A state of peace and happiness somewhat like the Christian heaven. I was hoping for a bit more of nothing, not unending peace and happiness. That would get truly boring after a while I imagine.

Was there ever nothing? Seem like there had to be something. How could something come from nothing? When we die, is there really nothing once again? Well if you think about it, either something had to exist forever, or something came from nothing. Even the concept of God needs to have an origin of some sort. Maybe energy is what has always been. I think it's pretty much impossible for any creature that has a finite life to comprehend something that has never not existed.

Snow I just see us as a part in the dust to dust process. Quite a miraculous transformation for a short period in time. All by the grace of God, or what you want that unknown power to be. So in the big scheme of things we hardly rate, although as it says in "Desiderata", we have a right to be here. Humans tend to get carried away by their own egos, and forget that we are only a piece of improved dirt.

Perhaps the best we can hope for is to have been a positive influence on others. That's not quite true of Gods people, look at the prophets we still talk of them, and then look at Jesus. Instead of ripples disappearing he's like a river gushing and flowing everywhere filling the world with the word of God. I don't see nothing, I see everything! Everything to live for! Because God is everywhere
