Just got back from a hike by a stream with lots of waterfalls and pools as it tumbles down the mountain. So peaceful. I love being out in nature listening to running water, sun on my face!

It depends on what hardware and software are you using when you see the picture and want it bigger? Try double clicking on it. You can resize a picture in a editing program.

virgo, that is an amazing photo of cloud on Taranaki, I have been inside that cloud hundreds of times wondering where I was and whether I would make it back down again. I will see if I can find a photo of the inside of the cloud.

The inside of a cloud, not very exciting but it is looking at a solar eclipse. This happened whilst a friend and I were downclimbing off the main divide near the head of the Godley River and it started getting dark. We were already in thick mist so managed to shoot a solar eclipse.

Once Mt Ranier was encased in such a cloud. An airplane took off from SeaTac, got lost, radioed for help. Asked if they had MT Ranier in sight yet, no answer. We (Seattle Mountain Rescue Counsel) SMRC took 6 bodies off the mountain that time. Sad, tough duty.

Sad, Dennis, mountains and airplanes don't mix. It has happened numerous times. Remember the Mt Erebus crash in the Antarctic?

Mt Taranaki NZ how does one make the picture bigger? Made me think of Mt McKinley in AK. We were told it creates its own weather, thus there is no prediction of whether it will be visible or not.

Familiar country to you, Curly... Monique Ford/Fairfax NZ A spot near Mt Cook in the South Island dropped to -20C early on Tuesday. Yep, sat on top of all that, some more than once. Starting from the left there is La Perouse, then across the Hooker Valley, there is south face of Aoraki/Mt Cook in shade and the mighty Caroline face in sun. Up above there is the Low Peak, Middle Peak complete with Middle Peak hotel and peaking out from behind is the High Peak. The walk between the three is the loveliest around on a good day.You can just see Hicks to the left of Aoraki, south facing 1000 metres of ice. Then Tasman. Next along is Haast and then the Minarets and De la Beche.

Mt Everest in Nepal is the highest mountain in the world. Of course you were joking when you said Mt Denali was? It's only the biggest in North America.

Mauna kea 4.205 m. Mt Everest 8,848m. Twice as high as Mauna Kea. Mt Denali is 3rd highest at 6,000+.
High and tall are different things apparently. Above sea level - high. from its base - tall.

Always pleased to be the cause of someone learning something new. I was told that by a guy from the US - so I had some research to do as well.
