DMG hello again, can you please show me where I said you were frustrated by my beliefs? Because I don't remember that, I was repeating what Matt10 said. And let's be honest a lot of the time if anything is mentioned about God some people are straight in the dissecting everything we write!
But that's up to them, I believe in God and that's right for me.
Everyone has a choice, if some choose not to believe then that's their choice!

[/quote] This means anything you idolise including false Gods or anything of the world! You have just proved me right about dissecting everything we write about God! If there is only one god then why would an omniscient being write something like the first commandment? It would be a pointless commandment. Right!
"You shall have no other gods before Me."

I personally couldn't care less how the universe began, I'm more interested about getting myself right now whilst I'm here. But i found this :- www.everystudent.com/wires/universe.html
It's for teaching students about the big bang As I said I've got no interest, except for gazing at the stars that look beautiful in the heavens :-) www.everystudent.com/wires/universe.htmlThis site, EveryStudent.com, is an evangelistic Christian site.
It is NOT a science site, it is a religious site.

DMG I don't care about science, I have no interest in it whatsoever! I've got more important things to think about than wasting my time on a big bang that no one has an inkling where it originated from!

Look at the second line of the homepage www.everystudent.com "A Safe Place to Explore Questions About Life and God"If you teach children science from these sights it will disadvantaging them and harm mankind, better to look at the NASA site for real science. If schools teach religion it should be in history and literature and not pollute science. Xna I don't teach my children or grandchildren anything about science, I teach them about God! When I read statements like this I become very concerned for the children as most of what I was taught about God as a child turned out to be untrue. I have learned that children are extremely impressionable when it comes to teachings about God and have the capacity to believe just about anything. I'd be interested to know what you teach them about God and, assuming accuracy and truth are important to you, how you verify that the things you are teaching them about God are both accurate and true. Matt10
"The question was "Have you experienced the goodness of God?, " and I answered it! DMG as you call her, questioned me, as did snow. I'm not trying to persuade anyone to believe. I just said I do. I also said we all have freewill and have to make our own choices.
What do you expect me to do when someone asks me a question or quotes on something I've said, do you expect me to sit there and shut up because it frustrates you that I say I believe in God, I don't think so!
As far as fuzzy feelings go, it would take a whole lot more than that to persuade me and I could never prove it to you either! It's not for me to prove that God's there, only God can do that!
If people don't believe then they don't believe, that's their choice. But i do, if it offends you so be it. Bubbles asked a question I answered! If you don't like it then ignore it!"

This means anything you idolise including false Gods or anything of the world! You have just proved me right about dissecting everything we write about God! No, it didn't mean just anything that you idolize.
At the time of those commandments, the people had many gods.
That is the reason for that commandment.
Not "Dissecting," just stating what the bible says. Sorry, I thought you had read it.

God is there alright, and if indeed the world was started by a Big Bang, the "Big Bang" theory, then who do you think lit the fuse that caused the Big Bang? GOD of course, He said let there be light and there was light. LOL. Just joking so don't get any knickers in a twist. There is power in the word. Heb 4:12 " for the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than a two edged sword peircing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of joint and marrow. And is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart of man." He spoke a creative word. Isaiah 5:11 "So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void. But it shall accomplish what I please. And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." When I grasped these scriptures my thinking changed. We have a universe but now scientists theorise the possiblity of multiuniverses. If you believe those scriptures the possibility reaches further.

I'm not quite sure how you came to the conclusion that I am either frustrated or offended but there you go. I assume you're not suggesting that one shouldn't be entitled to comment on claims made on a public forum. I do have to disagree with you though on your claim that one chooses to believe or disbelieve. I don't think one chooses to believe or disbelieve in God.
For example, I don't think you could choose to stop believing in your God any more than the likes of DMG could choose to start to believe in Him. I should point out that I have no difficulty at all with your beliefs. The only difficulty I have is with people claiming here that their belief is the only true belief, or that there is only one true God and that is their God, or that only they have a true understanding of God, or that only their religious book is the true word of God but then are unable to back such claims up. Matt10 I agree, Matt, I didn't choose to to disbelieve in God.
I took a long hard look at the evidence for why I believed & begin to understand the mechanism behind why I did so.
I realized it simply didn't make any sense and that was it.
Matt10, and DMG - if you did not choose to disbelieve in God, then who did? I am 56 years old. Every thought in my head, I choose/chose - at least on some level. Anything to the contrary, I could accept, if you were, say 8, 10, 12 years old. Or maybe even 20 years old. But at this stage of life? Hey, it's MY virtual reality. I own it. Why are you not owning yours?

It isn't a matter of "choosing" to believe or disbelieve something when there isn't any evidence of that "something."
Do you "choose" to believe there isn't a purple unicorn?
I doubt it, since there isn't any evidence of there actually being a purple unicorn.
Why would you have to "choose" to make any kind of decision about something like that?

I assume you are not suggesting that you could stop believing in the existence of God tonight if you chose to. Or that you could choose to start believing in God tonight if you currently don't. DMG, I think you need to read this again, I never said anything about you being frustrated by the way I believe. I was talking about Matt10 Matt I have no intention of telling you how I teach my children. But I'll tell you this. My family are very respectful, loving they are all around me and I am blessed! I've brought them up to have freewill and have never forced anything on them. They are experiencing the world around them and they will decide what to do with their lives, just as I did because my mother never forced me to do anything I didn't want to! God wants a willing heart not a forced one!

However, this quote certainly included me . "What do you expect me to do when someone asks me a question or quotes on something I've said, do you expect me to sit there and shut up because it frustrates you that I say I believe in God, I don't think so!
I am not "frustrated" nor "offended" by what you believe.
Why should I be?
I also believed it once, I worked through the "why" I believed.
I find that people who still believe tend to use such words as you did because it is that you can't seem to envision that we honestly don't believe.
Therefore we must just be "frustrated or offended."

This means anything you idolise including false Gods or anything of the world! That may be what you believe it means but people who study the bible for a living believe it actually meant other gods. Besides, doesn't the second commandment cover idols (You shall not make idols.)I was only trying to understand your comment about there being a single god when the god responsible for the old testament often referred to multiple gods. It just seemed to me that an omniscient being would know if there were other gods or not.
