I had to have a working with children clearance for my volunteer status in Compassionate Friends. It is wide ranging. Alan Kitto is head worker in NSW now.

Preaching=teaching!!!! Ephesians 4,V,11-12. Church instructions given are pretty specific. Praying aloud=a promotion of "A"God. Maggie. P.S. If you pray to a Christian God you are obliged to allow as much time to others Gods. Workers, prayers and speakers in any meeting expressing a doctrine, children present, check it out?
Remember, today, our intellectual educators from Universities down, in which a large percentage promote atheism or equal time to all "GODS". They educate our extreme left policy makers, and you can't beat them, unless you can find one of the minority of right wing just Judges thats left. Maggie, This thread asks the question: "Are New South Wales Workers complying with the Law?"
You said, "Do you know if you have only one child in your congregation, and you preach an interpretation of scripture in mission. sermon, testamony, prayer, sunday fellowship gatherings, etc, you must have a "Working with children check" in our State."
I understand your concerns but I am not sure what that means in your country but if it were to apply to EVERY "mission. sermon, testamony, prayer, sunday fellowship gatherings" in the US, that would be considered an infringement on our Constitutional right to freedom of religion!
Only if you were in an actual position of teaching or caring for children & not in a general religious gathering of all ages.

Dmmichgood,Hi, Here all other religions are protected,as we are not supposed to sing Christian carpls at schools, play them in shopping centers,to loud in public you may offend others, Not everyone adheres to this, but some City Halls don't put up christmas decorations to appease the non christians and atheists. Magpie.PS.Remember in the Maryland (US) High School the girl was punished for not giving a commitment to the Muslim 5 points of belief, she stood up for her profession of Christian faith. "IT IS ON IT"S WAY INTO WESTERN SOCIETY".

That is not really what the the law says in New South Wales. It applies only if you were in an actual position of teaching or caring for children & not in a general religious gathering of all ages.

The better deal is NOT because they are Christians but because most of the western world now have democratic governments.
Countries that were ruled by Christians in the past did their bit at burning atheists and any one else who didn't hew to the line of the particular brand of Christianity within the country at that time. PS: They didn't even mind killing other Christians if they happened to NOT be the prevailing brand of Christianity that was the favorite of the land at that time!

Dmmichgood, Hi, Here all other religions are protected, as we are not supposed to sing Christian carols at schools, play them in shopping centers, to loud in public you may offend others, Not everyone adheres to this, but some City Halls don't put up christmas decorations to appease the non christians and atheists. Magpie. PS.Remember in the Maryland (US) High School the girl was punished for not giving a commitment to the Muslim 5 points of belief, she stood up for her profession of Christian faith. "IT IS ON IT"S WAY INTO WESTERN SOCIETY". Separation between 'church and state' protects and benefits ALL religions and those of NO religion
It simply means that no one can force you to believe their religion nor can you force your own religion on others.
It means the 'majority' can't force a 'minority' to do something against their will.
It isn't a matter of "appeasing" anyone!
As far as "Christian carols at schools," -if it is a public school where my tax dollars go to fund that school then my taxes should NOT go to fund a religion that I don't believe in.
Just being neutral allows everyone to believe and do their own thing.
Let's just say what if it were the other way around, -would you want to be forced to believe something against your will? Or doesn't the commandment of Jesus to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," mean anything to you? (Luke 6:31 )
PS: Forget that about the High School the girl was (supposedly) "punished" -we have already been through that & found it not to have been true.

Yes, I AM saying that the Daily Mail has it wrong! We went through that discussion before!
It is important to look behind the source of any story, and not JUST take for granted that the source is accurate!
The Daily Mail is a "tabloid." (tabloid: featuring stories of violence, crime, or scandal presented in a sensational manner)
Wikipedia bans citations of The Daily Mail by Tom Kludt @tomkludt February 9, 2017: 10:31 AM ET
Wikipedia has barred citations of The Daily Mail after editors of the online encyclopedia concluded Wednesday that the British tabloid is "generally unreliable."
The decision came after a spirited, years-long debate over the Daily Mail's credibility among Wikipedia's active community of volunteer editors. The editors explained Wednesday that the decision stemmed from "the Daily Mail's reputation for poor fact checking, sensationalism, and flat-out fabrication."

as if wikipedia is a good source? i often hear from atheist here and some liberals that wikipedia is not a source to quote... Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia that aims to allow anyone to edit articles.[3] Wikipedia is the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet[4][5][6] and is ranked among the ten most popular websites.[7]
Wikipedia is owned by the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation.[8][9][10]
Wikipedia was launched on January 15, 2001, by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger.[11] Sanger coined its name,[12][13] a portmanteau of wiki[notes 4] and encyclopedia. There was only the English language version initially, but it quickly developed similar versions in other languages, which differ in content and in editing practices.
With 5,334,742 articles, the English Wikipedia is the largest of the more than 290 Wikipedia encyclopedias. Overall, Wikipedia consists of more than 40 million articles in more than 250 different languages[15] and, as of February 2014, it had 18 billion page views and nearly 500 million unique visitors each month.[16]
Although Wikipedia doesn't always go in-depth on a subject, the numbering you see though-out an article leads to more in-depth sources. It also as for editing.
So what ever you may hear or think it is actually a very good starting point.
