We have some creative people here. How about contributing to this thread?
Make Your Own Walking Stick (with a shepherd's crook)
Find a cut off hardwood stump with 1 to 1.5 inch diameter shoots growing upwards from the side of the stump.
Cut out a chunk of the stump to finish shaping the crook following the curve of the shoot. You can even make it with a hook to hold a lantern by spiking the walking stick firmly into the ground.
Cut length to suit.
Let season.
Finish by sanding and coating with stain and preservative of choice.
(you should be able to get several from one stump to make additional ones which sell easily for $75 dollars upwards depending upon quality and finish work.)
Then complete Finishing with wood burning or popular metal shields.
Enjoy stick and profit from extras.
Okay, next?

Make your own beer:
1. Buy two cases of beer in bottles. 2. Drink it and save the bottles. 3. Buy a beer-making kit on Amazon. 4. Follow the instructions to boil the wort with the hops. 5. Be certain all your equipment and the bottles are sanitized. 6. Chill the wort rapidly. 7. Add the yeast when it's at the right temperature (see instructions in the kit). 8. Transfer the wort to the fermenting bucket or carboy. 9. Watch the little yeasty bugs do their reproductive magic. 10. Wait. 11. Wait some more. 12. Bottle it. 13. Wait some more. 14. Drink it. 15. Save the bottles. 16. Repeat.
