I personally think that a total ban on abortions is political suicide. We all remember Todd Aiken's legitimate rape comments which led to his defeat in a state where Romney (Mizzou) won by 11%.

Baltimore is a different city today. Population falling like a rock. Only is you define "falling" as increasing. In the year ending 2012/07/01 the population of Baltimore increased. So once again your post in wrong.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltimore**** The population hasn't gained during any census period. The 11-12 numbers are estimates. Wait until 2020 and check the official stats. Those big liberal northern cities are dead...get out of them but please keep your political beliefs on the northern side of the Mason-Dixon line.

I was not aware of the additional rule - US census estimates not valid.

Why would I love seeing any state go bankrupt or the USA go "down the tubes?"
It's my country too, you know, not just yours!
Ahh Yes. Reveling in the pain and suffering of others. Must be a theist thing because I don't get it. It is a symptom showing up everywhere the extreme Republicans/Conservatives are. It is a major reason I lean toward the Liberal side. Scott Walker, et al gave us a despicable picture of what that looks like a couple years ago. They manufactured a crisis, then pointed at all the common folk and blamed it all on them. Scott Walker (& his Koch brothers idols) got neighbors, friends, relatives, and people who never knew each other to hate each other... and sat back and enjoyed the show. Absolutely disgusting, despicable... vile! The current trend of the extreme Republicans/Conservatives knocking people down, and then kicking them, is a very real incarnation of Evil. Why not try to build everybody up to a common, decent level of living? All I'm asking is for one good reason why we feel the need to stomp on each other, to take away decent wages, working conditions, living conditions, health care, education, social assistance... Why? I'm not asking for another talking point. I can get them from any number of websites. I won't listen to canned responses that resort to shoving people into boxes, that resort to name calling. Why is it acceptable to take away decent living and working conditions instead of working to ensure that more people can enjoy them? andy

Walker1903 ~ Just maybe the government employees didn't enjoy being out put out of work due to a lame government shutdown by the Tea Partiers, which cost our nation 24 billion for their game play? They obviously forgot the lesson learned from the last government shutdown under Newt Gingrich and it affected the Republican Party? Well, I can just see the repercussions of that stupid decision next November 2014 and another cleaning of the House of those who refuse to compromise and behave in a sensible way in government. Even big money didn't appreciate the actions of Ted gin& and his cohorts ~ I wouldn't be surprised if the Tea Party bunch doesn't lose a lot of financial support in the near future from the same people who put them in power ~ like the Koch Brothers, for starters?

Seems like the media is silent on extremists on the left. Sometimes they have to go after a minority with an extreme position and that wouldn't be popular to do so. Look at Maxine Waters who blamed Reagan for the 1992 LA riots. Waters told an oil company that we are going to TAKE OVER YOUR COMPANIES. I can't see the House or Senate seeing a power shift until the current leaders (McConnell and Pelosi) are retired. Both have had their chances in recent elections. Gov. Doyle left Walker a mess and the people recognized it. And of course, Barrett was boring and ugly. George Soros and tons of Hollyweird elites are funding the left.

I guess the media silence of extremists on the left infuriates me. Most of your inner city US Representatives support redistribution to some degree. And people wonder why people are leaving those crime and drug infested places. Somehow the media separates the center of left from the fr left in a way that they don't do the right.
Socialism sounds good but it is sweet smelling poison. The good news is the Obama-care mess is FINALLY being reported by even the most leftist journalists. The billionaires from Hollywood who support the left makes me want to vomit when the left runs their mouths about wealth.

4 years later-Virginia keeps on its leftist course. The northern Virginia suburbs near Washington DC depend upon the government for jobs. Most voters put their own family interest before the interest of the nation. Some feel that this election means the 2018 midterms will see a leftward tilt and that is possible. But Terry McAuliffe won the same office 4 years ago with Obama unpopular and still the Democrats didn't do well in the midterms. Ralph Northham and a more liberal state legislature means more rural people moving into Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, etc.
If I lived in the Virginia tidewater, Shenandoah or Appalachia, I might be thinking about moving to Knoxville, Greenville-Spartanburg or Kingsport today.

Seems like you have to kill babies and suck out their brains to get elected to Northern Virginia anymore. I ask all to pray for the state. It is in a heck of a mess.
