Snow, I’ve read When Jesus Became twice. It’s a very good book. Parts of it read like an historical novel, which makes it easier to read.

BobWilliston, dmmichgood, et all
I see this thread goes back to 2013. why is it in the past you could have these types of discussions and today all one gets is quotes of scripture? I could have had a dog in this fight. Isn't there a thought that says all the good days are in the past?

Jesus became a god when Matthew and Luke were writing, around AD 85–90.

Jesus became a god when Matthew and Luke were writing, around AD 85–90. CNA, the book isn’t pro-Trinity, nor anti-Trinity. It’s simply written using actual historical records. It’s a history book, not necessarily a theology book. IMO it would be interesting to see a new post in the Trinity. I know some on here wouldn’t like it, but I would.

If you use the meaning of "history" as; "a tale or a story", then the synoptic gospels are history, but I find the phrase Christian mythology to be more descriptive of the new testament than Christian History.
It seems to me the idea of Trinity was invented to explain some bible contradictions.

I'm just wondering, which Bible contradictions do you mean? Thank you.

I'm just wondering, which Bible contradictions do you mean? Thank you. There are many bible contradictions. Many books have been written on the subject. Here is one Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible
Just look how people here answer the question; Was Jesus god? Some answer yes, some answer no. The debate has been raging on for a few thousand years. I suspect the Trinity was invented to answer the question; Was Jesus god, with a yes & no answer.

I see that the Bible clearly shows us that Jesus isn't God, I'm not going to get into another long debate about it especially with Nathan and I don't read all his copy and paste stuff anyway. But Jesus was a man, not God there are verses that clearly show us this. This verse I noticed was in acts 2, it says Jesus was a man approved of God, so if he was a man approved of God then he can't be God. He was a man living by the will of his God and obeying the commandments that were given him of God. And he increased in favour with God so he can't be God Luke 2 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. I'm just showing you a couple of the verses to show you why I believe as I do

About 25 million Christians would agree with your conclusion ie; Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pentecostals, Jehovah's Witnesses, ...

That is very true. Both of these ideas are very dangerous to a Christian belief.
Ironically it was Dennis J who made me aware of Humanism many years ago. I watched as he argued with Humanists, and saw his Christian arguments came up short. Funny how those things work.
It reminds me of people who make "Banned Book Lists" which makes many read them to see what's the big deal about those ideas.

I disagree that the Pentecostals do not believe in the Trinity. I.e. that Jesus is not God or part of the Godhead. There are many Pentecostal denominations. The Oneness Pentecostals do not believe in the Trinity but the many if not all the others do. To say that Pentecostals do not believe that Jesus is not God because one or 2 don't is the same as saying that Christians do not believe it because a few don't.

I also read the United Pentecostal Church International ( UPCI) is a Oneness Pentecostal with 41,000 credentialed ministers, and 5.3 million constituents worldwide. I also see there are 74 different Pentecostal groups. I have no idea what makes them different but they must not all agree on something.
