Some people get on a plane and land somewhere else -- and have not a clue where they've landed in relation to where they've left. e.g. "Can't I just drive to Hawaii?" This world just gets more bizarre all the time imo. The things people believe boggle the mind. I'm convinced that it makes no difference what kind of a story you concoct, if you go about it right there are people who are ready to believe it -- regardless of their IQ.

Why do people believe such bizarre stuff that defy everything we know about the universe? How can they fall for the most bizarre things they fall for? Why are people so reluctant to believe in what science tells us?

Well imo all they are establishing is just how ignorant human beings can be. They're 'special' alright. Not something to be proud of when you don't understand the basic fundamental understanding of the universe or science in general.

Good grief. How do people get so deluded? Flat earth, hollow planets, why do people not accept scientific facts and think that they know better? So all our Aussie friends on here, you do not exist, your continent does not exist and you're all fake news. I have no idea where the plane took me when I didn't visit that fake continent.... www.physics-astronomy.org/2018/07/australia-doesnt-exist-and-people-who.html I notice when these flat earthers have a conference they come from all around the globe. You know that sometimes I can actually get a glimpse how "flat-earthers" believes as they do.
Every time when I am in a plane it shows us it's fight pattern, for a moment I think why is the flight path an arc rather than straight?

Really interesting talk of why our species has been so successful in surviving. It's about good leadership qualities, but it also gives a good understanding of why we are the way we are and why we have been successful.

hmmm i would think that it would be beneficial for the kid to get out there and learn to interact with others as much as possible.... That's exactly what this article was about -- getting out and interacting "as much as possible". The message is, if you want to be respectful of their efforts, give them the candy because showing up is probably their best. I've escorted my autistic grandson out trick-or-treating and I made sure everyone he met knew that I was there with him so he wouldn't be mistreated. They CANNOT be made to act like what a normal kid gets to act like.

It probably is more than enough just having the courage to go up to the door and being there in front of a stranger. I can see how it would be stressful for a kid that is non verbal to be constantly asked to say trick or treat. It's supposed to be a time of fun for children but that means different things to each child. There are plenty of times that can be used as an interaction time, and this one maybe isn't the one? Let them enjoy as much as they can?

Okay, we are known for high winds in Alberta but I don't think I've ever seen this before. These things weight between 1,000 and 1,200 pounds and the wind is just moving them like nothing. They showed this on our local news last night. It was a wild night. Blown over semis, grass fires and bales rolling all on their own lol...

My daughter was appropriately outraged, and hesitated to remind the worker that HE was the one who needed the good spanking to behave appropriately when he was the same age.

We had the similar "advise" when our two sons were young.
One was autistic (although at that time we didn't even know that term) and the other was acting out because he had multiple problems.
My brother who was in the work at that time, "kindly" came to our tent at convention and informed us that "the workers didn't approve of the way we were raising our children!"
My husband had to practically sit on me to keep me from yelling all over the place.!
